Add Interval Training Timer (HIIT) That Buzzes at a Certain Pace

Hello,
I'm excited about the new products. I am a run/walker, and in training for my recent marathon, a friend had a garmin watch that vibrated at certain intervals. (Ex: if I wanted to have a pace of 3min run/1min walk it would vibrate at those intervals to keep me on track).

I'm finding it really annoying not being able to use the timer while in excersize mode for HIIT sessions! Please update!

Noticed this on another post .... in 2016. I don't know which post they are following for likes/requests, but I would up vote as many threads asking for this feature. I can't believe I am still looking on line at cheap timex and gymboss to supplement my fitbit. Sad. I really like the fitbit community and app, and like the watch type feel of the blaze. I had a Tom Tom before and then finally went with fitbit. I have to use runkeeper when I run, but don't want to rely on that during a race situation where they don't want you wearing headphones. I keep thinking they will upgrade the OS on the Blaze...I just can't believe this isn't a feature on the Blaze...

"Today Fitbit tweeted about using the interval training on the Charge2 for HIIT

I asked them when they will get it for the Blaze, they responded with a link for this feature request:

https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Interval-timer-on-Blaze/idi-p/1385123

it only has 22 votes right now, maybe we can get 700+ there??"

I have recently doing HIIT's.  Currently I use a separate app on my phone to provide me interval timings. I think most of the Fitbit's are capable of providing this functionality in terms of hardware. So if fitbit can provide this functionality via a software upgrade it will be great.

I was so disappointed when I found out that the Blaze does not have an interval timer. I was told in the store that is a basic functionality of all sport watches and surely the Blaze has it. I will be returning mine and will repurchase when this feature is added

cPlease add interval timing to the Blaze - it is available on the Charge 2 - but not on the Blaze. All the support and help references the Charge 2. I like my Blaze and really don't want to use another tracker just to get this feature

I would love a hiit option to help measure this type of workout. It is such a popular method of exercise now that I'm surprised fitbit haven't recognised the value this could add to many customers overall experience. Come on fitbit do it pretty please.

Please add interval training to the Blaze with varying interval choices (30 sec on up) I guess I have to use Boot Camp as the Activity type?

Ionic has a very basic interval training feature.

The Ionic watch has potential to be a lot better than Garmin running watches if more work and development in the interval training side on the watch.

All should be customised on watch and phone,

A tailored program could be provided by Fitbit.

Examples:

Distance intervals (change distance and speed - sprint, run, jog, walk or recover)

Example : 400m Sprint, then 200m walk  repeat X times

Heart rate intervals (change heart rate zones and times, also speed - sprint, run, jog, walk or recover)

Example : 2mins Run, then jog until heart rate drops below 140 repeat X times

Time intervals (change time and speed - sprint, run, jog, walk or recover)

Example : 30s jog, then 30s run, followed by 30s sprint repeat X times

From what I have read it also seems that the intervals only repeat 49 times. For longer distances it would be great if it could repeat until the end of your work out!

We can track running. We can track walking. What about those of us that interval walk/Run? How about an “Interval” option?

I would second this suggestion. I've only had my fitbit for 3 days, and already picked up on that omission.

It's already possible. Login to fitbit.com and go to settings. There you should see your ionic listed in devices and you should be able to select other activities for your shortcuts. Those include walking and hiking among others. You can only have 7 selected at the same time and it's kind of weird that it's so hard to find these options. I replaced treadmill and elliptical with hiking and yoga.

Thanks. Found it. Updated it. But it says interval workout do I hope it
recognizes that I’m walking/running...not like working out in intervals on
machines at the gym or something

I would love to see an interval timer on my Blaze.

YES I agree!! I see that this feature is available on the Charge 2 which came out before the Blaze. Isnt there any way that the software could be updated on the Blaze to include an interval timer. With a buzz to alert the beginning of a new cycle. (3 min run...buzz...1 min walk..buzz..3 min run..) This is a very important feature for many run/walkers out there as well as those who use tabata training.

Becuase interval training timer is missing from my Blaze and no decent response from FitBit via here, Facebook and direct email... I took the plunge and went ahead and purchased the Apple Watch Series 3. Takes a bit of getting used to, very feature rich but I wish I'd done it long ago now. Shame though, I really wanted to support FitBit with my loyalty but as we all know... ignore the customers and the customers will eventually vote with their feet! Spotify and the lack of Apple TV 4 app were the same... had to move on and subscribe to Apple Music in the end. But I digress! Or am I!

Please add intervals it's the one thing I miss since upgrading from HR

Please more options for interval workouts. There's a 'ghost +' button under interval workout/set interval, that says add to set additional intervals, so surely this feature will be updated....?? It's one of the reasons I bought the watch.

Or combo intervals mixing distance and time. Eg run a mile rest 60 Sec.

Interval training, with a run/walk timer would be great. I have a Blaze. Thanks.

On the "Ionic" you can choose "interval" but there is only ONE possibility:  30" MOVE and then 10" REST (that's something for a professional athlete I think). There should be more possibility's so you can make a choice what you want to do! For example the choice between: MOVE: 30" or 40" or 50" or.... and then REST for 10" or 20" or 30" or....

I too would like a more customizable interval training, like the author of this post is describing. I also have a Garmin watch where I have used the interval feature, very useful and something Fitbit should consider adding now with the Ionic being a more than just an activity tracker.

Would be nice if I didn't need my Garmin for getting the most essential running features

This would be an awesome feature.  There are phone apps that do this but one reason I splurged for the Ionic was the ability to leave my phone at home when I walk or run.

Hey, how are you, FitBit Community? Hope all of you are fine!

Actually I wear my fitbit ionic since the beginning of October 2017 and I love it. Since I have that Beauty I love to workout more, I'm hyped and also track my sleep.

But after a few weeks, I found something, which will improve the whole fitness experience with the fitbit ionic.

Interval Training - Exercise: (Prio 1):

It would be great, if I could store more than 1 Interval on my fitbit ionic.

Why? A training session combines more than 1 training methods.

For example: In the first set I gonna do my warm up, based on an interval of 4x1min with four different exercises. Then I start with my second set of 6x1min Pullups/Pushups. Then I go over to an 10mins AMRAP set.

Problem: With todays interval training app I need to change the interval after the first and second set to the relevant interval I need for my sets - and actually I have more then 3 sets in my workout routine.

Solution 1: Change the interval training app data structure based on the alarm app, so Users can store more than one interval on their fitbit ionic

Solution 2: Create a app, where Users can create a whole workout session time plan, based on "prepare, rounds, work, rest, cool down" - would be the better solution, but takes more time

Would be great, if you could develop something like that for your watch! Cause then you will have functionality others dont have 😉
