Add Interval Training Timer (HIIT) That Buzzes at a Certain Pace

Hello,
I'm excited about the new products. I am a run/walker, and in training for my recent marathon, a friend had a garmin watch that vibrated at certain intervals. (Ex: if I wanted to have a pace of 3min run/1min walk it would vibrate at those intervals to keep me on track).

I’d like to be able to set a run/walk ratio on Surge please.

Just ran my first marathon using run walk intervals of approx 40 sec run and 20 sec walk. Not having run walk intervals on my blaze is an issue ... This cannot be that difficult to implement with a software update ...

So I currently need a separate timer or buy a garmin, it seems?!

I agree. Actually considering sending my Ionic back to buy an alternative brand (Garmin) that has these features. Even though I have the Adidas edition this feature is still missing.

I would like while using the interval workout to record the whole workout with GPS (something like Garmin has). Start running and after warm up of 2 a 3 km start your interval workout of 90 minutes, and after that a cooling down of a few km and records the whole training with GPS. At this moment the only thing whats recorded is the interval workout setup and that a big missing!

I would like to see this feature on the Surge

Having a customized HIIT timer against music is exactly what I am looking for!  I have created recordings on my iPhone where I play music, and I personally SAY -- WHEN.  With these very pricey fitness tools, I am hoping an application can be added to the Versa.

Thanks!

Agreed. I would love to be able to use distance for my intervals. I have plenty of track workouts based on distance - running 800 meters for 5 rounds with 3 minutes rest between sets, for example.

The HIIT timer in the Versa Ned’s to fall in-line with commonuseage to be truly helpful (especially as people progress and evolve in their workouts).

- it needs an optional “get ready” countdown at the start

- need to customize each interval and rest time

- would love voice commands but I know that’s wishful thinking

- and customizable vibration patterns you can assign to each. I think this is already suggested.

Hi I am now on my second week using a Charge 3 and I really like the ability to track sleep and workouts. However the unit falls short when it comes to HIIT training data. Fitbit needs to make improvements in the tracking software to implement better data. Tried making the band tighter and wiping sweat to no avail. Data shows 100-120 hbm when I’m really 140-160. Frustrating. Works fine on the elliptical machine. Thanks!

It is not easy to track workouts like interval training, HIIT and Tabata and the bands definitely don’t recognize these types of exercise. Since they have become very popular and common workouts, please add them. Also, PLEASE become compatible with the MapMyFitness app, which could sync these types of workouts with your app.

Since HIIT is becoming popular and it gives such good results. A timer on the watch would be helpful while exercising. Since setting a timer during HIIT is hard and takes some time away from a workout.

HIIT is an important option for training and while it has been around for some time it is gaining in popularity  The interval option on the Fitbit Charge has the interval tracking but does not take into account warm up and cool down. Just adding these two options to the interval list of choices would be sufficient and for those that are just using interval and not interested in warm up and cool down, they can put a zero in the warm up and cool down! Not a difficult addition right?

I would love to have intervals as exercise also
and so the watch knows when you run or walk.. and can tell you a resume at the end of how you did..

adding a timer for let say 3 min running .. 1 min walking that vibrates would be awesome too..

There should be 'cues' for every exercise option (cycling, hiking, circuit training, etc) so you can see the breakdown. Currently the cues are either time or distance based but having a 'manual' cue would be great too where you could designate the end/start of laps by tapping a button. This way you could measure rounds of circuit training or run workouts that are not measured by time/distance (or that have a time/distance interval not currently available).

1.

when move starts, one vibration.

when rest starts, two vibration.

then we can see this vibration is for the move or the rest.

2.

turn off "screen auto-off" option.

we can check how much time left without touching the screen or shaking the wrist.

Hello @mrhuh.

Thank you for sharing your idea. I could definitely see how an option like this could add to the experience for all sorts of users.

Let's see what other users have to say about it.

SolusUmbra

I would like to have more then one of the same exercise category, like IntervalTimer one set up for a cardio and one set for more of a general workout. It could also be good for runners how have a long and short route, or swimmers, etc instead of having the change the setting every other day or so when mixing up different workouts that use the same kind of timer.

Hi @SolusUmbra thanks for sharing your suggestion. I'd like to have more details about the option that you would like to see on your Inspire. Please give the specific categories you would like to have. I'll be around.

I would like to be able to have 2 interval timers with two different settings so I do not have to reset the one timer depending on the exercise routine I want to do. I’m kind of not sure how else to really explain it. So like interval timer 1 = 20 seconds 10 rest repeat 21 times

interval timer 2 = 60 seconds 10 rest repeat 4

does that help?
