Add Lloyds bank to UK Fitbit pay

More bank compatibility for uk Fitbit pay versa users. So far Fitbit pay is not connected to any major banks in the UK. The very few that fit bit pay is connected to I’ve never even heard of. So as a UK versa owner I have the special edition and can’t use the very feature that separates it from the the normal versa.

is Fitbit pay going to compatible with the major banks in the UK like Barclays, Lloyds, Santander, HSBC, NatWest, TSB, Metro Bank, Halifax, Royal Bank of Scotland etc and also I haven’t seen any where (shops) that accepts Fitbit pay yet.

Nice one Richard, nice one! I totally agreed that we should be refunded the
difference in price between the standard & the special editions as, like
almost every other person who bought their Versa for the Fitbit Pay
facility, we were lied to & robbed.

Thanks Butty,

What really takes the p is they've put this topic as 'under consideration'. So they sold a product at a higher price KNOWING we couldn't use the feature we were being charged extra for.  You'd think this would be illegal under consumer protection legislation.

But Fitbit doesn't care about their customers outside the US and I for one will be quite happy if the market continues to turn it's back on Fitbit. So I wear something else now and I lost a little on the Fitbit but wish I'd changed earlier and avoided all this frustration. No more Fitbit's in my house as I've bought them all devices from competitors now, ones that don't actively rip off their trusting customers. But once bitten is something Fitbit will learn if it doesn't change it's dodgy tactics!

This was first brought to the attention of Fitbit back in April which is now over 6 months ago. Surely this should have been resolved by now. I bought an Ionic having really struggled to decide between it and the Apple watch but had a charge 2 so decided to stay loyal to Fitbit but now wish I hadn't bothered as this is one of the main features that I wished to use.

Come on Fitbit give us some feedback. Your silence is not giving me any confidence that you are even talking to the banks .

Hi I have the app working using Santander bank, never knew John Lewis had this service. In reality I still use my card much more than the phone so it's really just a fancy gimmick. Agreed shouldn't pay more for the privilege though.

I use my ionic with Santander card and in honesty use my card a lot more than the watch, gimmick really. Agree should not have to pay more. John Lewis have a bank!!

I'm confused as to why people are talking about paying a premium? All
Versas in the UK have Fitbit Pay, not just the special edition. It's only
the US where only the special edition has Fitbit Pay. Nevertheless, I'm as
annoyed as everyone else at how rubbish the selection of banks is.

That's not right  On launch the Special Edition was £20 more and was the only option if you wanted Fitbit Pay. So we were ripped off by £20

Sorry, that's 100% incorrect as I bought the black at launch. All UK
Versas do have Fitbit Pay and always have had. Article here confirms:

https://www.androidcentral.com/fitbit-versa

As does the fitbit UK website:

https://www.fitbit.com/uk/shop/versa

I specifically checked the Fitbit website when the Versa was on pre-order
and it confirmed then that all the UK Versas have Fitbit Pay. If you think
otherwise then you may have looked at the US website in error.

My original message to Fitbit was not long after i got mine for Christmas last year. Nothing has changed since then so once my ionic dies i’ll be going to Garmin. End of.

Thanks for your post. I so, so agree with you. I wanted to get the pay version on my tracker and was thinking of Apple Watch, Garmin or Fitbit and decided to stay loyal to Fitbit and with this UK bank selection I cannot use the exact functionality why I bought Charge 3 Special Edition

I solved the fitbit pay not working with UK banks on the new charge 3 I just received.

I returned it to Amazon!

Total con when they charge a premium for something you can't use!

Please add HSBC for UK Fitbit users.

Rhis is an expensive piece of kit and very disappointing that no major UK banks are compatible with Fitbit Pay

So you bring the Fitbit pay out in UK knowing we cannot use it. Seems stupid I have been told to add banks to this list. ?  Waste more time with have already returned now . But ok no Virgin. HSBC. Halifax.co op. Tsb. Tesco. Lloyd's . nothing will work.

months in, and still only 4 banks supported in the UK!

i'm surprised Amex is not supported... is this more a hold up on the banks end or fitbits?

I am now a proud owner of an apple iwatch, it counts steps and does contactless payments, I’ll just put my trusty old charge 2 to track sleep while I am charging the I watch 🙂

I too am very disappointed that I can not use the Fitbit pay feature. I brought the special edition charge 3 for this reason and as stated previously no highstreets banks are compatable. It would be great to see Barclays and other uk banks becoming available in the near future.
