Agree, on the squats, but also floor exercises, so I just call it cross training and put in the minutes I spent doing this. I understand this isn't steps, but it is definitely working our body. A friend told me I was cheating, but I want credit for doing my exercises.
I've had my fitbit for two weeks now, and the inability to log situps and pushups is really my first disappointment with this product. I like it otherwise, and it just seems like the ability to track fundamental excercises like this would be a no-brainer to have as a feature.
Agree, but now I just log these items as cross training or you can type in floor exercise. A friend said I was cheating, but I Sid I was being cheated as my push-ups, squats, planks, etc, really should be counted.
I would love this so i can stop carrying around a journal at the gym!!!
It doesn't even have to be fancy I just want to add a weightlifting activity and then input my reps/weight and then track my progress i.e. increasing weight and reps.
Also If would be great if you could create a custom "leg day" and then it would auto set up squats, front squat, calf raises so when you are at the gym you only have to add in the reps and weights.
Got my Charge 2 last week and boy am I disappointed it doesn't track push-ups!
I just feel limited and disappointed that such basic functionality isn't available. I also feel quite amazed that this idea has been suggested for so long and with this many up-vote and still it hasn't been implemented.
Honestly it feels like Fitbit doesn't care for their user base.
I sincerely hope that Fitbit does change their stance and implement this basic functionality. Simply being able to log the activity in a meaningful way in the Dashboard activities would be welcomed.
Thank you for responding. I now add in "cross training" myself and that is for my sit-ups, plank, floor exercises, push-ups, etc. You put in the time you spent doing this and it gives you credit, but it doesn't count towards your steps (which makes sense). When I look at my weekly totals I just know I did more than is shown. Hope this helps in some way. Sandy
I want to see how the number of repetitions is evolving through time. I have no interest in the time I took to execute them (that would be just a nice to have).
Why not simple create an activity named "Calisthenics" and allow registering repetitions? That's a simple enough functionality that make a huge chunks of the user base happy.
178 votes should mean something especially when in practice that translates into thousands of end users (only a small portion of user bother registering in the community and yet a small number bothers searching for ideas and up-voting).
Wish I could help influence Fitbit, but I can't as I am a user just as you are. What if you gave them a call and see if there was a way to speak with someone or send them an email at Fitbit.com? Please let me know if you get anywhere. Sandy
How about an add on to manually enter and track sit-ups / push-ups / or any kind of reps. Would be useful to be able to add, even if not Fitbit related -- its health related and could lead people into using the food and weight options more if the aside features are more user friendly. Thank you.
I'm a Charge 2 user, and i found quite useful to have a reps counter. Something very simple, just a counter, (e.g: one tap of the button to increase the counter, doble tap to decrease it).
When doing crossfit, (specially when doing Amraps or rounds per time) you need to keep in mind how many repetitions (of the set) are you doing, having a simple counter on the wrist will be something very useful. The interval training is useful for Emon like trainings, but when the main objective is the repetition number and not the time, it's not useful.
I think that a simple counter is not a hard functionality to develop and it will be very useful.
I’m sorry I have no answer for you, but write or call call Fitbit and ask them. Their number: 877-623-4997 Their support website is::https://contact.fitbit.com Good luck. Sandy
I agree. these are the most basic exercises that people do. In the military they do them everyday. Push ups, sit ups and other calisthenic exercises are how the military tests service members. Should track them all. Lots of military members use fitbit.
I agree completely, but they added floor exercises awhile ago which is great, but it doesn’t go towards your “step” count. That makes sense, but I feel 100 sit-ups and it pushups would equal 100 steps. Your thoughts?
