Please add ski/snowboard activity to the activity tracker for the charge 2 Please! This would be an amazing little add on th an already amazing product!
Please add a short cut for cross country to sync with Gps with charge 2. I did not realize GPS tracking was very specific ..I log it with running but that's not right? I can't even edit the work out after
I skiied strenuously at Snowbird all Thursday (and several other days) and it did not recognize nearly the activity level I expected. It looked like an ordinary day around town.
Another vote for downhill and cross-country skiing to all possible FB's.
Haven't had an issue really with HR counting lifts as stairs, but looking to upgrade to something at some point and that would be a major selling point.
I spent 6 hours on my cross country skiis, this weekend, and my Fitbit didn't recognize any of it! Please add this! I bike in Minnesota in the Summer and ski in the winter. I want a 12 month app, not a six month app!
I have not read every post, so hopefully this is not too redundant. I think Ski Tracks is a great app. Fitbit may want to contact them to get them connected to Fitbit app to track skiing. This will help to use an excellent app already on the market and allow Fitbit to use the information to track exercise where you excell. You may need to do some conversion with Vertical Feet skiied and maybe MPH (or KM) to obtain the energy used. I believe this is doable. Ski Tracks also will be supported by this community.
I was the original poster and sold my Surge. I waited for a Surge2 to come out but got impatient and just bought a Garmin Fenix Chronos which does exactly what I was looking for and looks nicer. It also excludes chairlift rides. I would copy the Garmin for a skiing app 😉 This really can't be hard to program.
Looks like Apple Watch has the Ski Tracks app. My Surge band is falling apart and I need a new fitness watch. While I like to app dashboard, I've seen little improvements to the watch software, including the lack of auto-pause. I am leaning Apple for next watch.
I suspect someone in FitBit is watching the threads even if no one is responding. Having said that it is a bit frustrating this forum is like talking to a wall... I get if they are adding it, they probably want to make news/noise about it, but at this point FitBit is the only one not to have it so I'm not sure just a simple nod that "we're working on it" would be that impactful on any new product release... just a thought - you should know you're losing customers who have already waited for a while to see this. Obviously the US ski season will be over in a few months, but I didn't want to wait for another season.
