Nordic skiing has more upper body work than biking, and alpine skiing is altogether a different animal. I've had psychotic flight counts from going up lifts and falsely low step counts.
We need settings for both kinds of skiing and this applies both to the ionic I want and the charge2 I already have.
I don't know how you capture motion but if you need to have a skiier wear stuff to collect data my husband and I would be willing to be guinea pigs, we downhill ski at Whiteface and cross country at Mt Vanhovenburg (think 1980 winter olympics)
Not that I really want to be nickled and dimed this way, but you could make it and have it be behind an in app purchase, (just once, not a subscription fee)
Thank you for sharing your Feature Suggestion with the Fitbit Community. In order to keep the forums easily searchable, we regularly archive suggestions which become inactive. I saw another suggestion for cross country skiing but could not comment or like so I figured that I would add this again. I also frequently use a Nordic Track Skier indoors instead of a treadmill and would love to have that activity. Thanks!
After so much time waiting I've given up on Fitbit. I still have my fitbit surge - and its really great. But I find the lack of response from Fitbit engineers on such "requests" as this one very annoying, so I'm already looking for a better replacement with cross-country skiing.
I hear great things about the Garmin Fenix 5, which supports both regular and cross-country skiing.
I know I first suggested this in December 16 for my charge hr there are countless suggestions posted for this exercise to be added and these suggestions have all been voted for
so Fitbit can you explain what we have to do to get this on your schedule?
to be honest the community suggestions board seems to be a little one way (customer suggests and no communication from Fitbit) in its approach and perhaps you should just call it a suggestion box/bin ? And that way I am not being misled in the whole community definition
I also want cross country skiing to be added. But I noticed this post is two years old. How sad... it's a very popular activity. Hopes it will be added in a near future...
