Add a "Find my phone" app in the Fitbit App Gallery

We all misplace our phones from time to time. Since there is Bluetooth connection, it should be simple to reverse the notification and ring your phone. So long as the phone is within Bluetooth range, this should be a feature on the new Versa/Ionic.

I agree! All the higher end watches should have this feature - Charge 3,
Versa and Ionic.

Fitbit obviously don’t care all that much. No response from them either. The number of crappy untested apps on their platform is staggering. Its time to look at another brand. Shame as I have had a Fitbit for over 4 years.

I have to say I have been touting Fitbits customer service for years. I do
think they care. I think maybe they're a bit inundated because they came
out with a couple of watches right after each other.

@Smbushwa I'm curious to know if you asked a similar question regarding the new fitbit... Did you pay for it? :))

Anyway, I'm sending you in a private message a Promo Code of 100% discount 🙂

P.s. weird, I'm not able to send private message... Please use Smbushw4 as Promo Code

Since I wear my watch and misplace my phone a phone tracker would be nice.

I can see this is coming soon, I really hope this isn't just for the iconic/versa. It should be added for all current devices.

There is an app available in "all apps" I believe it was $2.99 but it is a find my phone app that calls your phone for you. As much as i wish Fitbit would make it a standard I was still grateful there was an approved app for it and figured others would like to know. Kudos to the app creator..

It would be nice find my phone features if available

An update with an option to find my phone would be helpful . You are able to with Garmin and Applewatch so I'm sure there is a way.  It's just a reverse notignotific through Bluetooth.

Hello,

I have some news about the app "Find My Phone" (https://gam.fitbit.com/gallery/app/25f6c80d-60ae-4d80-8a54-d3e5775e4ae1)

After 40 days and 15 rejections (yes, no typo here, there were 15 rejections), Apple has just approved the iOS version. Probably I should write an article describing this journey, but now I mention only the sequence of the app names: (1) "Fitbit Find My Phone", (2) "Smartwatch Find My Phone", (3) "Find My Phone", (4) "tibtiF dniF yM enohP", (5) "Datarake Store", (6) "Datarake".

The approved version is totally different than the initial one, it is a small game actually and unfortunately the main feature has 2 downsides for now, but I have a plan about how to fix them: (1) the silent mode issue; (2) it plays a custom sound and not the actual ring sound

Anyway, the app is available here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/datarake/id1450730809?ls=1&mt=8
The configuration is like this:
1. Install and open the iOS app (this is all you have to do with it in case that you don't want to play also the small game)
2. Install and open the fitbit app
3. In the settings section of the "Find My Phone" companion, click on the "Device ID" field and then after a long press, paste the string from clipboard (it's about a 10 digits string)
4. Test the smartwatch app

Hi. There is a new update of the app that allows the Android users to stop the ring sound by closing the Fitbit app (pressing the left button of the smartwatch)

Is there an estimate on when the Iphone app is ready?

@vuurtje an iPhone version is already available (see the message from March 3rd - here above) and a new update is under development.

So, is there a way to bypass the code to pay off I've already paid awhile
back, but just tried to uninstall and reinstall to see if I could get this
working? It has never worked on my phone.

@Marysbond  normally you should start from https://kzl.io/unlock

Just went through this. Would have been nice to make my phone buzz or ring instead of hunting for half an hour

I Have installed it too. And it works perfect.
After installing I immediately had issues with my clock face not showing up anymore, instead a message that said it was lost. But fixed that by switching to another watch face and back to my own again.
While protesting to make Fitbit add this feature, I also imagined what would be the best way to implement the feature. Very big compliments for the simple yet very effective and quick way to find the phone.
The energy of the people in this topic has paid of in a surprising but very satisfying way.
Thank you.
