Add body measurement feature

Can you please add a feature to track your body measurements: chest, waist, hips, thigh, and arm? I would like see my progress in inches +/-. When I'm not losing weight, I want to make sure the body inches are still going down. Thanks.

I used this feature a lot and now it's gone! 😞

There needs to be body measurement tracking. Weight is a poor way to track progress by itself considering and good health program will include activity and activity builds muscle. You can actually gain weight but look inches off you thighs, chest and waist.

I was really surprised it hasn't been included already

I brought my fitbit like 10 days ago.... last week i logged my measurements, this week the feature has disapeared when i went to add new measurments. Is this a hitch??? Were they added then removed? bit disapointed tbh

Was that on the site or app? I've never seen a spot to track measurements

I used to have the option for my fitbit flex as well. I can't remember if it was an option on my iphone app, but I could definately log it when I logged in on a PC. You also used to be able to keep track of Glucose levels and Blood pressure. They have taken away many features.

Yes! This is an extremely important feature to me. I was incredibly disappointed when I got the Fitbit only to discover that there was no way to log waist/hip measurements! The Fitbit alone is great, but seeing waist measurements improving will motivate me and many other women to continue their workout regimen.

@CindyFitbit - the link you provided meerly says that they are being removed. They do not specify why this feature was removed as you said it would. Why was it removed?

Hey @FJD118  we've reached a point where it's important to evaluate which features are most worthwhile to continue supporting. Considering that every element on the Dashboard requires some of our focus and resources, it was decided that these particular pages were declining in value and no longer worth that tradeoff in maintaining.

Please bring this feature back! Why would you delete it? It's been proven that waist:hip ratio is more accurate than BMI in determining CV risk!!

Even a notes page would do if a waist measurement optionis not available

Yes PLEASE bring this back.  I am not losing pounds at all at this point but am losing inches and REALLY need to track them to help me stay motivated!

Hi, please add waist measurement to the Fitbit app. I can't believe this has been left out to be honest. There's a good body of evidence that shows waist circumference is related to health disorders such as metabolic syndrome. Empowering people to reduce their waist circumference should be a goal of Fitbit and is a very easy implementation. Thanks

I completely agree and I'm astonished they removed this feature. When you're suffering a weightloss plateau, it's immensely motivating to see that your hard work is still contributing to lost inches. This feature is also great for those in weight training that actually want to track inches gained.

The reason this feature was probably underutilized is becase it was poorly marketed, fairly hidden and so easy to overlook. It also doesn't provide a guide to help you measure consistently every time. I would often forget if I measured my waist at the narrowest point or across the belly button (makes a difference!). Measurements should be another tile on the dashboard with an option to display waist-to-hip ratio for quick reference.

It would also be nice to have the option to set up regular alerts to log measurements. Maybe provide some info on why it's important to monitor your measurements. As a random idea, some way to store photos along with the measurements would be great for a visual before/after as you progress in fitness level. I really miss being able to see how my body changed over time through the measurement charts. Please bring back this feature!!!!

I couldn't agree more! I would actually prefer to track waist and hip measurements than weight if I had to choose. It's a much better indicator of real progress, especially as I don't have the facility to measure body fat but I do have a tape measure. It also would be useful for members trying to build muscle mass to be able to log measurements, I just can't understand why this feature was removed.

There used to be optional items to enter information.  I don't remember waist measurement in there, but I could of missed it.  To others wondering why it was removed it could of been because the graph only showed the past 30 days, which when recording any useful long-term information was worthless.

This should be brought back, but if so with a variable date range and not a set 30 days.  I would also perfer this being expanded to allow custom metrics be recorded.  This would cover people who want to track many other health items like Cholesterol which I'm a proponent of tracking.

I would also like to have a place to track all your measurements not just the waist I'm really surprised this isn't already included..there have been so many times that I didn't lose any pounds but I lost inches

Please bring back the tracking of body measurements to the Dashboard!! Loved the graph that accomplanied it. Not sure why it was removed . . . .

Thank you for your contribution @Miga. I've seen other users requesting this as well for some time now, so I believe it would be a good idea to bring it back.

Please keep on sharing your ideas and vote for the ones you would like to support, this will help Fitbit to improve with new and more complete features. Thanks!
