I first suggested this several years ago. Obviously Fitbit could care less what their customers want and need. I am just waiting for my unit to die and them I am also changing brands - probably Garmin as well. So sad that a company could care so little what their customers want!!
I badly scratched ionic (falling from a big!) so purchased a new one. Would like to have them both on the same account so I can use the scratched one when I cycle ....
You will never get more than one smart watch on one account. I don't think Fitbit is interested in selling watches. They want to sell you a watch and then sell you bells and whistles with your account, so it seems to me.
My recommendation is switch to apple Fitbit doesn’t allow multiple devices I just bought a versa and found out the hard way . Switched to apple will never go to Fitbit again. They don’t care what people need or want
I went garmin awhile ago. There are times I reconsider Fitbit because the sleep tracking is so nice. But garmin has so many other features they are my main watch.
So I was told at the store and on the fitbit Website that I can connect multiple trackers to one account, then basically switch between trackers when I want.
This is perfect for me since I'm tired of wearing the Versa all the time, sometimes I want something more discrete - So today I went and bought the Inspire HR and connected it to my app. But
Hi @NajaO, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to connect multiple Fitbit devices in the same Fitbit account. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". You can learn more about it here. I hope to see you around.
Does anyone know how to dismantle their fitbit account so I can stop receiving these notifications from fitbit that they are placing our concerns in a new inbox, "Under Consideration"? I have already moved to Garmin where you can have two or more "smart" trackers on a single account.?
Made the decision to get a Versa. But I love my clip on Inspire for every day tracking. Added the Versa last night to find the it took the Inspire off! And, what a pain to add it back and "switch" between the two. Not worth the effort. I get health insurance rewards so I am not risking switching and losing data. Guess I have an expensive watch now.
What company wouldn't want you to puchase and use more than one of their products?
Until Fitbit is able to make it possible to connect multiple "smart" trackers (Ionic, Versa, Inspire, Charge 3 and 4) to the same account, my solution is to only have one smart tracker (in my case a Versa) and use older models for changing off. In addition to my Versa, I have a Blaze, a Charge HR, a Charge 2, and an Alta HR, all of which can be active on a single account - so I have all five on my account and can switch off effortlessly. The Blaze is a really cool device, and is as close to a smartwatch as you can get from Fitbit without needing to access the Fitbit gallery (or whatever they call it) that seems to be the feature that limits you to one device at a time. I use my old Charge HR (my original tracker) for yard work - it's kinda beat up, but it chugs along like a champ. The Alta HR is small and light (smaller than the Inspire) and is great to wear to bed or to switch off to my right wrist when I want to wear a traditional wristwatch on my left. And Amazon has lots of third party bands for all of these (except Charge HR), so there's plenty of options to dress them up, down, whatever to suit my current mood.
While these legacy devices are not sold directly by Fitbit anymore (wish they were), you can still find them on Ebay, Craig's List, etc.
Yeah, I know it's frustrating, and reading the comments here I see many folks hitting their tipping point and abandoning Fitbit for Apple, Garmin, etc. For me, I have a nice group of Fitbit friends that even includes some international members. We do challenges all the time, and I really don't want to dump Fitbit and give this up. So for now I'm content to work with my legacy devices, and continue to hope that Fitbit will reprogram their applications to allow multiple smart devices on the same account (it would seem to be in their interest to do this since they'd sell more trackers and get more folks into the Fitbit ecosystem - but I'm sure they have their reasons for dragging their feet - but I digress). Again, I know using legacy trackers isn't the solution for everyone, but it's working for me.
Allow the Ionic and Inspire to be active on the same account. If you have to go through the full set up that's painful. Perhaps have an option to select which one is ACTIVE and put the other device on "PAUSE or HOLD" on app. In a later iteration make the devices both compatible with each other on the same account.
Hi @bluex900. Thanks for sharing your suggestion about being able to connect your Inspire and Ionic in the same Fitbit account with us. This idea was already requested in the Feature Suggestions board, so I’ve moved your post here. The status of this request has been updated as "Under Consideration", so don't forget to add your vote to show your support! I already had an ionic , but in my job I’m not allowed to wear a watch or tracker , so I have purchased an inspire ( as you can detach the straps and put the tracker in a clip ) , to then find you cannot have an inspire and an ionic on the same account ! It’s very annoying , and it’s just because you can change the clock faces ! Surely the option to have multiple trackers on the one account regardless of the specific type of tracker would be a good point of sale for Fitbit . I was advised to set up my inspire on a new account , but to me that is pointless , I could have bought a £2 pedometer to track my steps and then add them up whilst not being able to wear my ionic , now I’m £50+ down on a Fitbit inspire that cannot be used for the purpose I purchased it for . Come on Fitbit sort it out surely it’s not that hard for you to do ! And I’m sure more people would purchase more fitbits if it was possible to link any two ( or more) fitbits to the one account , that you can swap for whatever reason and it just links up . Please !!!
Vote: Use 2 trackers/account. With a link that switches between the devices so user errors are limited and ease of use increased. We need to be able to use multiple devices on a single account. I like the Fitbit Charge. I have had Charge 2, 3 and currently the 4. The issue with the 4 is that if I go for a walk, bike or hike then the time that it might take could be over 5 hours in a session. The battery dies but if I could switch to another device and use it to add to my Charge 4 statistics then that would allow me to charge the Charge 4 and not have my life limited by the tracker. I do not understand why there is not a link that someone can click on that will allows a user to switch between 2 devices. I was told that the Versa 2 or the Ionic could be used in conjunction with the Charge 4 but from what I understand, there has not been a meaningful update to these devices for a long time. There are many competitors. Some of them I am told have a price that is close to or below Fitbit. Being able to switch between devices allows a path to upgrade, people can keep the features that they love, eliminate the issue of waiting for a device to charge and let someone upgrade with a lower learning curve. In conclusion, I want to be able to take control of my fitness program. I do not want a tracker to control me.
This has been a long outstanding issue. Why is it still not being fix to allow 2 devices. I have a Versa and my husband bought me a Versa 2. I would like to be able to interchange them but yet this cannot be done. It is very frustrating. Please fix it ASAP.
Hi @ThatLarsenGuy. Thanks for taking the time to share this suggestion about being able to link your Versa 2 and Charge 4 into the same account. This idea was already requested in the Feature Suggestions board, so I’ve moved your post here to make sure the suggestions don't get confused, or split a popular vote. So many people with even more reasons to have multiple Fitbits than I thought about. All are asking for a way to more easily switch units. So many compelling reasons that this is a good move. I don't have a view into your product roadmap but this sure seems to be very compelling and some great ideas to give your developers easier options than just making them automatically compatible. The manual switching that doesn't involve re-setup would be a great iteration step forward for the product line.
To modertator, instead of moving the posts or feedback around and continously asking for votes, the team should look at enhancing this as it has been a long outstandingly issue.
I have been subscribed to this feature suggestion for years, since I originally also added my +1 and I have stayed subscribed all this time because I was hoping to get a positive message in the near future .... but now its just more and more of the same ...... customer requests being added/moved and zero action or comment from Fitbit. Very frustrating 😞
Hi everybody! I 've contacted the twitter support and here there is what I wrote to them: "Just bought a Fitbit Charge 4: I can't believe it's not possible add two devices to same account (I already had a Fitbit Charge 3)! I can't understand why it's not possible to connect multiple device... I'm sorry but if this will never change next time I won't buy a Fitbit and I'll suggest to do the same to my friends." I noticed this feature suggestion is very old. I hope Google will add this basic feature!
Users should be able to add a 2nd device to their account as some people have more than one device . I believe Fitbit needs to correct this issue and allow a 2nd device
Hi @Kat_A13, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to allow multiple devices on the same account (Ionic, Versa, Inspire/Inspire HR & Charge 3/4). I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". I hope to see you around.
