Allow us to create custom meals on Fitbit app

Given that the community has been asking for this for 10 years, and now you will no longer have access to "create a meal" via the web version of the dashboard, it's making it harder for me to a fan and supporter of Fitbit, and I've been a fan for more than a decade. Please have the app have at least the same features as the web version (e.g., create a meal), but since it doesn't already exist, add the feature for # of servings to make our lives easier please!

Will we be able to make and alter meal in the app when the dashboard goes away?

Hear, hear. Also, multiple serving options in custom foods, and presenting nutrition data with more fine granularity (one decimal place would be good).

If the web dashboard goes away, it's essential that the Fitbit App comes up with a solution to allow for the creation of meals to enable more efficient entries.  This has been discussed in a Reddit thread as well:

Fitbit․com web dashboard shutting down in July : r/fitbit (reddit.com)

The Custom Food is not an option currently, or at least I cannot figure out how to create meals on that tab

Need Meals in APP

I use the meals option every day. It is what makes the Nutrition part of FitBit useable.
Make it possible to compose meals in the App.

I agree meals is essential. I make meals separate form my wife, typically in batches. I then just add the meal when I eat it. I don't want to have to keep a separate log for meals I've frozen and re-add the ingredients every time.
I have basically the same breakfast every day, with variations on the fruit. Created a meal called "breakfast" one click to add and can quickly edit as needed. A custom food does not fit the bill and manually adding cereal, blackberries, raspberry's, cholesterol yogurt, 5 different dried seeds - I'll need to get up 30 mins earlier.

Slightly off topic, I'm also going to have to install an android or apple emulator on my PC to be able to see the app screen properly.

Currently, there is no way to 'create a meal' in the mobile app. It only can be done on the website. And since Google / Fitbit are taking the website down in July 2024, we will have to manually log every ingredient on any new meals we create.

This is the answer I got from chatting with them-

Upon checking here, as of now we don't have the exact information if the next update will have an option to make meals and your favorite foods; however, I would like to take note of your suggestion. That is a really good one for the Fitbit app. I'll definitely take note of the insights you raised for our team to be aware of. As for now please wait for the future update for the Fitbit app to check your request.

I have just joined Fitbit and am astonished that people have been requesting this facility for years and years and it isn't available. I'm pretty sure it was a feature in WW online over 10 years ago!!

On the site I go to food log, on the far right I select meals under the favorites box from there I can create or log a meal. This is a huge time saver since I eat the same food for breakfast and lunch most days. However, this is not an option on the app. The website needs to remain in place until the app has all the functions that the website offe

In addition to the need for the ability to create a meal using the app, the ability to edit existing meals and custom foods is important. Please consider adding these functions to the app. This is something that was available on the dashboard and is a huge loss to those of us who faithfully track our food consumption for a variety of purposes. I carefully track everything I eat for health and fitness.

It would be really convenient to have the 'Create a Meal' feature on the mobile app and Futbol Libre websites . Hopefully, they can implement it soon.

As a new Fitbit member, I was very disappointed to see this going away on the web and not supported in the Fitbit app. It was something I was just beginning to use and now it's gone. Makes it much more clunky to track calorie intake without it

Really disappointed that Fitbit is discontinuing web support. I prefer to
access my data from my PC. Been a loyal user for 14 years.

I literally just two days ago taught my mom how to use the custom meals from the pc dashboard. And we were confronted with the message about phasing out the dashboard. So in the same breath where I was being like "see, this is very helpful if you know it exists and how to do it, albeit half-baked as it is" I had to also be saying, "welp, it looks like the fitbit devs are still hopelessly out of touch with the needs of the end user and actively liable to make the experience worse instead of better."

Decommitting the PC dashboard is senseless

With the removal of the web Dashboard, we absolutely need the ability to create and edit meals in the app. I found meals I created in the webUI under Custom in the Android app, but one of my meals is an older iteration and does not match what I was using in the WebUI. I cannot edit the meal in the app.

There are two features that are on the browser version that are not on the app. 1. The ability to create/edit meals that I can select instead of entering each food separately; this saves me a lot of time. 2. The ability to edit the name of my Workout sessions; which helps me identify workouts that are the most effective. How can I do this on the app? Will the app be updated to add these features?

Katmandid

This is absolutely essential.  I have found most of the meals I developed under the custom foods option, but some are missing, and there is no way to create new meals.

Without the website access to the Dashboard/Food Log this app is useless; it does not edit or add data with the same ease as the website Dashboard/Food Log did. If this is not correct I will be seeking a new platform ASAP.

When removing the online dashboard, you removed the ability to add custom recipes/meals. This is a dealbreaker for many of us for tracking purposes.

I am physically unable to use a phone for my nutrition planning. I use a PC with Accessibility options on and a full sized keyboard. Your product has been invaluable in reversing my Type 2 Diabetes. I do NOT scan packaged foods with my phone. I use your Create Meal and Custom Food features in the Log to calculate my whole food ingredients.

The worst part of this change it the impact to those who record and manage diet, calories etc through the web version.  The fitbit app does NOT allow me to delete existing "meals" nor can I record a meal (multiple items) then add or remove items.  All were easy on the big screen on my pc which I accessed at least 4 times a day.  I prefer you retain the web/pc version but if not, the app needs lots of updates to keep me from moving on after 10.5 years and 4 different fitbits.  PLEASE FIX THIS!
