Please make one u wear on ankle then u would get all the steps. When u are in a store with carts such as grocery, target etc it won't record all the walking one is doing with a cart. I have to try and push with one hand!! They can have pretty but functionally ankle devices some can be practically for a guy and pretty like an ankle bracelet for a women!!! Please develop this!! So I wore my Fitbit Charge HR around my ankle, under my sock today whilst at work. It worked great! Tracked my steps a lot more accurately and kept track of my heart rate too. I'm aware this is not advisable to wear it this way however, it worked well for me during working hours so will wear it like this whilst at work.

Agreed. I've been wearing my fitbit one either on my ankle (using its sleep wristband), or clipped onto a sandal.

An anklet! Yes, please. I use a rollator, so my steps don't register. I wear a Zip on a cat collar on my ankle, but I would love to have a FitBit with more advanced features. I may be old and feeble, but I still try to keep active. I've wondered, too, if a leg garter would work.

As a mother of young children I like to walk with the kids. Unfortunately when I push the pram The Fitbit does not count steps as my arms are not moving. Would be great to see a Fitbit anklet of some kind.

Or a waistband/belt clip!

I have the FitBit Flex and would love to use this on my ankle for gym classes that are doing more lower body than upper. It doesn't pick up on a stationary upper body movement.

I'd love to know my heartrate while doing kettlebell workouts, but haven't found a really secure way to wear my charge hr on my ankle, plus the measurements seem off as compared to manual & app based measurements - but those are effected by the HR burst that comes immediately post activity...

I love my Charge HR, however surely Fitbit must know that steps are not counted accurately, if at all, when both hands are pusing a wheelchair, a stroller, a grocery cart, etc.  Also, as someone else mentioned, if your hands are in water all day, that's another issue.

I cut the stretchy top off a sock, slip it over my foot up to my ankle, then put my Fitbit Charge HR around my ankle under the sock top.  Even though the band does not reach, the sock top holds it snugly.  I can do an hour's worth of dance class and it never slips or comes out.  Fitbit should capitalize on this idea and come up with something, maybe in various colors, that holds the Fitbit in place on your ankle!

I am a member of Drum and Bugle Corps as well as Winter Guard International. Both of these are performing arts organizations that feature musician athletes. I highly encourage those of you reading this to go to YouTube and check out some videos to further understand my idea.

I am a drummer, and in this activity I wear a drum and perform various body movements and march at tempi of over 200 BPM regularly. The activity is extremely physical and I would love to get a Fitbit to track my activity during rehearsals. Unfortunately, as a drummer I am using both my arms and wrists equally and so intensely that none of the normal wristband trackers that fitbit offers would return accurate results. I would likely reach a step count of over 10,000 in only an hour or two if I were to wear any of the wristband trackers while playing. The next logical thing would be to get a One or a Zip, however I'm afraid that with the amount of excess lower body movement that is a part of this activity (sudden squats, repeatedly getting up and down off of one knee, sometimes crawling or being dragged across the floor, etc.) these trackers would simply fall off to be trampled by my fellow performers. My idea is to create a tracker specifically to be used around ones ankle or to be VERY securely attached to ones shoelaces. This would open the product to so many more individuals as I'm sure there are others who feel they could benefit from a tracker that is not on their wrist or waistband as I do.

This is SUCH a great idea.

I HATE wearing the fitbit on my wrist so I have a fitbit one which doesnt clip very well.. and I have just lost it...

An ankle version would be perfect!

An activity tracker created for people who are not allowed to wear juwelery on their wrist. Like doctors, nurses, people who work as waiter in restaurant or worker in food factory. Those people Can only wear device on Ankle.

You can carry one in your pocket, right?  Consider the One or Zip.

That is true. But inwant measure my heartbeat, my sleep and so on. Without changing from wrist to ankle to pocket.

@Baldeagle73,

You may have up to one of each model paired to your account.  You can use the One for work and another tracker when you get off your shift.  I have four paired to my account.  It's as easy as taking one off and putting the other on.  I would sync the tracker you're taking off and then sync the tracker you're putting on so that it may reflect accurate numbers, but that's pretty much it.

You won't get your heartrate while you're using the One, but you'll get it when you work out with one of the other models.  So unless it's essential that you track your heartrate while you're at work, then this probably won't impact you.

Another advantage that you'll get from the One is that it'll measure steps more accurately for the professions that you mention.  Times where you'll move your a hands a lot while standing in one place (think surgery and food preparation) are likely to register more steps.  Times where you'll hold your wrists still while walking (think pushing a stroller, gurney, wheelchair, or cart) are likely to register fewer steps.

Lastly, you may also track your sleep with the One.  You'll have to wear it on your wrist with the included band and turn it on manually, but it tracks your sleep.  I've been doing it this way for years.  It won't however track your resting heartrate.

Yes, I've been trying various "work-a rounds", such as clipping the fitbit one to various part of my shoes or to ankle wraps, but last week it all was for naught: Lost the fitbit one at the local farmers market. I'd checked my ankle several time while shopping,to be certain the FB One was still in place, but it got away anyway.
That's it. I'm not replacing it. I'd worn it for over two years, but never utilized its full potentials, to wit: I kept track of sleep, steps, & exercise only; and by now I'd learned that my sleep habits are OK. And my smart watch can help with the other data. The newer Fitbit wristband models would be awkward as my wrists are filled with the watch on one and a MedicAlert band on the other. So, farewell Fitbit, possibly until you create a model that can comfortably & securely be worn on the ankle!

I've been wearing a Fitbit for years and love them! But I'm sad I never get to wear my girly bracelets and watches anymore. You guys should come up with an anklet! Just something simple so I can still wearing my jewelry that I love and keep track of my fitness. Thanks!

@AvidUser11, you can always get a One or a Zip which are clip on models, and you can pair multiple trackers to your account.  You can carry them in your pocket or slip it into your bra.

Also note that there is a pendant option for the Flex 2.

Just thinking of some options you can do right now.

Fitbit might be able to release an anklet for the Flex 2

I made mine to wear on my ankle, and I think we could send our old ones back and donate them to overweight people.and we could get a discount towards an ankle one

Good idea, but.... Too late for me. I'd worn mine on the ankle, using a couple of different adaptations, but sometimes clipped it to my shoe or boot laces. That's what I did the last time I wore the Fitbit one (and lost it).  Maybe I'll send Fitbit my extra covers & charging cable. If Fb does any charitable donations, they could include these.

YES!!!! ANKLE OPTION for Fitbit!!!! Why aren't you making this possible? I have to use a safety pin to extend my bracelet--hardly ideal. The count is fairly accurate, please make it happen...

I'd also like to try an ankle model, that tracks heart beat and sleep. I work in an office shuffling paper around and very often I'm getting a lot of steps counted while sitting in my chair. But then again if I'm wheeling around with it strapped to my ankle I'd probably get steps then too.
