Ankle mode

Please make one u wear on ankle then u would get all the steps. When u are in a store with carts such as grocery, target etc it won't record all the walking one is doing with a cart. I have to try and push with one hand!! They can have pretty but functionally ankle devices some can be practically for a guy and pretty like an ankle bracelet for a women!!! Please develop this!! Soon!!

I'm sure that works fine, Mary, if you wear socks, but that is not the case for everyone.

I work for a company that doesn’t allow jewlery, but they do encourage healthy living and twice a year they do a 10,000 step challenge. I had asked customer support if one of the Fitbit trackers could be used around the ankle or calf and was told none are made for this application. So my idea would be to have a band that I could attach to my calf or ankle that would track my progress. The reason we are not allowed to wear finger, wrist or necklace trackers are for the obvious reason to prevent loss of limb around machinery, but around the leg would be allowed. I do hope this would be something development would consider I’m sure there are others who would benefit from this type of health tracker as well. Thank you in advance for any consideration to my idea.

Sorry @Dawn611 the simple search you did before posting brought up the current request for an ankle Fitbit.

Dawn611
First Steps

Yes but I want either ankle or calf that one was ankle or shoe. I would not be able to tether anything to my shoe so the other post only represented half my request.

Oh I’m sorry I just looked at the current request link you Rich_Laue sent and seen other requests also for leg ankle I’m sorry I hadn’t seen these. Hopefully they will see the interest for this product and make something to suit everyone’s needs.

Well I’m sad to see the dates on some of those posts are 2015 so I’m thinking Fitbit isn’t going to come up with a ankle or leg tracker since people have been asking for years for a product like this.

As one who works in the operating room and cannot wear watches, I am locked out of steps accrued during the day nor can my heart rate or SpO2 be recorded, which are important vitals I am interested in for optimal health. Please develop band extenders for the Charge HR or create a device specifically for the ankle. The fitbit one does not record all that I need so that is not an option.

Fitbit has a clip based tracker, Zip, that will work.. Or put the tracker on your pocket, Fitbit currently doesn't make any tracker a designed to wear on the ankle. Never mind this I think Amazon would be a good place to stsrt.

I'm not sure which tracker model this thread is referring too

@mnoel2k13 your Charge HR doesn't have any SpO2 sensor, the Iconic does but is not being used yet.

I understand the Charge HR does not have the SpO2 sensor. The Iconic does but it too is for the wrist. I need something designed to give me the heart rate, SpO2, and my steps and flights. The Zip does not do these things as well. This is a wish list for the future. Until then, when Fitbit designs, they should keep in mind the clients who want the features but must wear the item on their ankle, not on their wrist.

I totally agree. Fitbit discontinued the One which was perfect. I live in Oklahoma and my Charge Hr is awful to wear in the hot humid weather. Would be nice to wear in on my ankle.

A leg is much bigger than a arm so that would have to be a big band.

Not bigger, just longer.

In what way is wearing the tracker on an ankle going to give better data?

All it will do at best give pedal counts which has nothing to do with distance, we have different gears. It will not tell Fitbit how hard your working, again there are gears.

On the other hand the heart rate will tell more.

@Dawn611 did you by chance do the forced search and ignore the fact that this suggestion has all ready been suggested at https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Ankle-fitbit/idc-p/1347288#M134644

It simply does not make sense have two desperate threads and the resulting votes are then split.

Any fitbit that you can take apart from the bracelet you can place in your sock and it counts the steps accurately!! Try it for a day or two and you will be amazed!!
Thanks,
Mary!!

Hello,
If you place your fitbit in your sock it should count your HR!! Just a suggestion, may be worth a try!!
Thanks,
Mary!!

I want all the features of the charge HR plus an SpO2 sensor in ankle band
style. Being waterproof is good too. I would like it to also be worn on my
wrist for those times I do not need it on my ankle. If there is a test
group, I would love to do it for there are many healthcare professionals
that cannot use fitbit due to the many times we wash our hands and as in my
case have to do surgical scrubs and don surgical gowns.

They say the developers read these posts but I’m not so sure. If you read through some of them the dates are like two years ago. Obviously they don’t read them or their not looking to accommodate their customers.

Sorry I'm not sure how much research can be done in the 10 days this suggestion has been active. Is 26 people wanting a leg band worth the research to Implement?? It will require an addition to the algorithms detection of steps, and require the tracker to know that it is on the leg and not the arm. Only the Flex 2 has a sensor for this type of suggestion?

Since this is a duplicate of an active identical suggestion the votes are being split making neither suggestion as being popular. That is why when posting a new suggestion the poster is forced to do a search, if they ignore the results they are simply insisting that their suggestion will be more likely to be missed by the developers.

Here is a link to most of the suggestions that have been released, I have a nice size list that still needs to be marked.. But no the developers have not said that they will implement every suggestion here.

My wife won’t wear a Fitbit HR tracker as she doesn’t want it on her arm. I like it but don’t want to wear 2 watches at the same time just to keep track of my steps and HR. We would both love an option of a Fitbit HR tracker that attches to your ankle. I don’t see how this would be too hard to make as you can track steps, being on the leg and you can also get your pulse from your leg so this would solve the HR issue.

Everything can then be monitored via your phone to see how you are getting on, it doesn’t need a display so shouldn’t be that big and intrusive. Please consider this, i personally think this would be a great seller for you.

Can you please make an ankle band with a velcro or similar closure?  I find it impossible to do up the rubber wrist strap (not enough strength in my thumbs) so I wear the tracker in my sock however I have no way of gaining counts or credits for swimming as it doesn't register if I pin it to my swimmers.
