Blood pressure Fitbit device with historical tracking

It would be great if Fitbit either created a blood pressure monitor and a glucose monitor that would sync with the dashboard or if they would team up with another company (Omron, diabetic community app) to have their product sync with the dashboard instead of having to manually enter it.

Yes FitBit - please develop a BP monitor that simply syncs with the phone apps and dashboard like the Aria weight scale. It would certainly encourage me to take my BP more regularly.

It was mentioned that sugar tracking is provided under the Premium membership.  How is this done?  Is it possible to customize the Daily Totals displayed, or is the info only available in the weekly report? It would be great if we could simply customize what is displayed in the Daily Totals, selecting any of the food nutrition items FitBit captures.  I love FitBit WAY better than BodyBugg.  However, this is a feature I do miss.  I looked at the report and it is not as user friendly for daily food planning purposes.  So hopefully a customizable Daily Totals display is available under Premium.  If not, would FitBit consider adding this feature?  Thanks.  Love the product!!!

I would love to have the ability to check my blood pressure with my FitBit!

How about a wireless blood pressure cuff?  Blood pressure monitoring is very important  in measuring health and fitness, just because someone runs 5 miles a day, has a low body mass index , doesn't mean they are healthy without one more piece to the puzzle,  that is blood pressure. You know that it is the silent killer.

Having that item as well would be something worth having.

I would love this idea too!!!

i currently have an OMRON R6.. (omron makes some of the best blood pressure cuffs)

how about teaming up with OMRON and making a WIFI cuff that can automatically sync the blood pressure measurements to fitbit. (just like the fitbit aria scale does)

currently i input this information manually every day, it's doable but i would definately pay for a product like this. Convenience is the keyword.

Awesome suggestion,

This has been my issue as well. And I'm intentionally testing multiple Glucose Meters on the market to see if any of them will communicate with the "Fitness Bands" that exist on the market.

Fitness Band Brands Tested:  Fitbit, Jawbone & WiThings

- None of there apps offered data for "Glucose Data" to be added automatically or manually

- MySugr makes a fun App for manually imputting data

- iGluco has a beautiful app that communicates with their iHealth glucose monitors.

Glucose Meters Tested

--------------------------------

- One Touch Ultra 2 - No App Support. No ability to sync data via bluetooth to a App

- One Touch Verio IQ - No App Support. No ability to sync data via bluetooth to a App

- One Touch Verio Sync - One Touch has their own App. Support bluetooth sync of results (iOS)

- iHealth Align - Supports sync via iGluco when connected to headphone jack (iOS/Android)

- iHealth Wireless Smart Gluco Monitoring System (iOS/Android) uses Bluetooth

I too would greatly appreciate this.

I would pay a substantial premium to have my Glucose Meter automatically sunch the data to my FitBit Dashboard, just liek the Aria scale does.

I too would pay a premium to have a Glucose monitor that synched to my FitBit Dashboard.

If there were a monitor that synced with food and exercise, diabetics would flock to it.  Can fitbit coordinate with some of the diabetic glucose monitor manufacturers to make this work?

Does anyone know of a different tracker that links with any BP and Glucose monitor? I would be willing to give up my FitBit since they are falling behind the times.

I love my new Charge, but would really like a field on the Dashboard where I could enter my blood pressure and resting heart rate every day.

I love the silent vibrating alarm on the fitbit flex. I really would love to see that expanded upon to add a silent vibrating count down alarm as well.
Being diabetic means I have to eat every 4-to-6 hours. Rather than having to reset an alarm based upon when I finish eating; which varies every day making a repetitive alarm useless, the ability to just set a four-hour timer which would silently buzz my flex would be a great tool. That way, when I'm in a meeting or talking with someone there isn't the embarrassment of my mobile phone going off mid sentence.

Would like to suggest adding the ability to track blood sugars levels/reading with Fitbit. With my new Fitbit Charge, I still have to log my BS readings with another app. Would to track it all in the same place, please.

Thanks for your response to my question on logging blood pressure.  I'm using a Charge, and BP tab doesn't show up anywhere in the dashboard log section.  The Charge is relatively new, and I hope this entry field gets added soon.

Thanks for the response.  I see where the BP tab should be, but it's not appearing on my dashboard/log tab.  The Charge is relatively new, and I hope they add this ability soon.

I would love to be able to log my glucose so that I can better track my progress.  My endocrinologist would like to comepare my exercise, meals and glucose.

I am using a Flex and I don't see a "BP" tab either. On the dashboard Log page the only tabs I see are Food, Activities, Weight, and Sleep.

Glad to see that glucose/diabetes on the radar.  I'm using diabetes app by bhi technologies. I like the app but the food reporting isn't what I'd like and it doesn't appear the app has any support or even interest from bhi.  You can email them directly from the app but they don't respond and there is nothing on their website about the app.

Maybe fitbit should buy them out??

Diabetes App uses the usda database and has reporting that I can email to myself to discuss with doctors.  However, for food, it does not export all of the data I enter.  The USDA database is easily accessible on the usda website with an excel abbreviated version as well as full data table files available if you want to work with it in something other than excel.  I use the app plus the USDA data to create more complete reports for myself.  I'm not diabetic but maybe pre-diabetic so I'm monitoring my glucose, blood pressure and food consumption.

the database is helpful for meal planning and recipe conversion/adjustment and includes foods cooked and raw plus restaurants and brand name products.  It would be great if everything could be in one app that is well supported.

I agree with the comments about choosing carbs or calories in the android app. It would also be useful to be able to add BP and Glucose from the app. I am blind and your app works wonderfully with a screen reader so I don't want to have to find other apps to do this. You have these features on the website, which is great, but for those of us with health issues that need to track these items, it is also needed on the go. Thanks for including the barcode scanner for food, again, as a blind person, this is  an extremely useful feature and I will now be recommending fitbit to my blind friends since we have a very limited selection of accessible fitness gear.

One of the reasons I bought the Surge was to reduce the number of applications needed to manage all aspects of my diabetes. I just created my account in October and found that I can't add custom trackers or track glucose, though my wife's non premium account can. I even upgraded my account to premium by suggestion of tech support to no avail. Tonight I found that the date the account was created is the key.

Bring back the glucose log!

This should really be a no brainer considering the effect sugar has on the body.

Specifically added sugar.  I use another app to track sugar and it doesn't seperate those out, so on days I eat a lot of fruit (naturally occuring sugar) spikes my sugar intake way up.  Where I don't care as much about naturally occuring.  25 grams (women) of added sugar is the going goal per day.
