Bring back step streak on new Fitbit app

I am on day 997 of getting 10,000 or more steps a day in a row. I was looking forward to seeing 1,000 on a few days. I can’t believe you took that feature away.

I’m really puzzled on the genius of removing the streak counter? In case the app developers did not understand, there was great motivation to not break a streak.  The streak counter provided greater motivational pressure the longer the streak was at stake for being missed. ‘Can’t tell you how many late evenings were spent walking a loop in out neighborhood just to make sure the streak stayed alive. What possible motivation could there have been to remove this feature?!

Would you please restore this feature?

Please circulate this post widely and ask other Fitbit users to "vote" by hitting the thumbs up on this thread.

From the Fitbit FAQ:

Scale of demand. It might seem like a lot of members want a Feature to be developed but it’s useful to bear scale in mind here. For example, we have over 500,000 (as of summer 2017) registered community members, so an idea with 500 votes actually represents a small percentage of our community and an even smaller subset of the total global Fitbit user population.

They are obviously not paying attention to what people say or do.

I climbed 35 floors on Sunday going up a bluff and then a fire tower. I was excited to see what that would do to my streak and if I would get a badge. Sadly, that feature is gone. I agree with a previous post that the quirky stuff was a good market feature. Why did you change it? I will be switching to Apple when I am ready for a new tracker. I will also be canceling Premium. It takes too long to get to those features. Accessing Premium seems like it was an afterthought. Bye.

I agree. Bring these features back.

I agree, the Step Streak was very motivating. Please bring it back soon!

I’ve decided to continue my step streak with my own accountability. Marking it in my personal calendar. It would be nice to have the banner back. But I can continue on my own.

Just chiming in to agree with everyone complaining about losing the motivational and fun parts of the app. I check my step streak every day and was above 770. This was a major motivator to stay with Fitbit whenever I bought a new watch. Not next time. And I just canceled my premium subscription. What’s the point of it now?

I’ve decided to keep my step streak, using my own accountability. Marking the numbers in my personal calendar. My streak continues.

Who decided to re-design the app? Clearly not someone who actually uses it. I hate the new design and its starkness. It makes it harder to see your stats in one glance. Also, it does not show how charged watch is, and I find it hard to read the number on the watch.

Agreed. This is why I use Fitbit

I agree 100%!!  Seeing the streak was a great motivator.

I figure the best way to get your point across is by buying another product. I called Fitbit twice and chatted with them twice and all I could get was go to the forum and complain. They screwed up and won’t fix it. They can flip back to the old app in a heartbeat. Time to take a bite out an Apple!

I figure that this is part of a longer plan to try and solve the issue of lagging sales of their premium app. Take away the features that people value. Ignore 1-2 months of complaining. Add the features to "premium" and as a real kick in the crotch say for only $29.95 extra they will heal your streak. When people are furious about free stuff becoming pay stuff, they console them by waving the $29.99 fee and you are now paying a monthly fee for what used to be free. This is the objective they have and have had all along. Like when their firmware upgrade bricks your device and the console you with 50% off a new device. The head of marketing is the evil Catbert.

I agree that the battery percentage you could see with the refresh and step streak need to be put back. The refresh was a quick easy way to see battery percentage when I did quick glances several times daily. The step streak motivated me to keep going every day! I was at almost 300 and was very disappointed to see it was gone and now even more disappointed to see that you do not intend to bring it back.

Count me in as one who dislikes the new interface. WHERE'S MY STEP STREAK? That was a prime motivator ... driving me outdoors in the pouring rain or freezing cold (yes ... like -16) to get my steps in. The whole idea of a watch and app motivating me to exercise is ludicrous, of course, but it works so why buck a winner?

SLEEP DATA is now useless.  I was using the Charge 3 to document chronic insomnia.  The chart I woke up today is totally absurd and useless.  Why the f do you mess with things that provide adequate data only to provide an update that provides zero data.

The step streak is my favorite app feature. The are a few improvements in the new app, but deleting the step streak is a game changer.

I went to Apple Watch. Daily charging sucks but the other health tracks are much better.
Sorry to leave FitBit but Google brought bad changes.

A straightforward yes or no answer from a Fitbit employee authorized to communicate the decision would be so easy. It is a yes or no answer to the question – Will the step streak feature be returned or not?

If it won’t be restored, I won’t continue using or buying new Fitbit products. It was the single primary sticky feature that got me using it and keeps me using it.

I am absolutely baffled that Fitbit chose to remove showing the consecutive day streak on the new app update!! This is the feature that people brag about (“I’ve done 100 days straight…” etc). This is a main feature that people use and need. Hitting your daily number and doing it every day. Why on earth would you remove this?????

What are you thinking Fitbit. The biggest motivators the step streak and group challenges gone???? Dumb moves. Going to go to Apple. Who needs Fitbit if the very reasons they were popular are now gone.
Bad business plan. Who is the idiot that made these decisions and why? Do they even use a fit??

Please bring back the step streak. It needs to be right in your face every day you open the ap. Keeps us moving!
