I am on day 997 of getting 10,000 or more steps a day in a row. I was looking forward to seeing 1,000 on a few days. I can’t believe you took that feature away.
My charge 5 quit working after 20 months. I thought I just got a lemon, after reading other comments it appears to be a common problem. I also lost my step streak which was very important to me. No more challenges really doesn't make sense. My charge 1 counted floors so when I got my charge 5 I assumed it would count floors. Being an upgrade but I was wrong. I bought a charge 6 and now I hope I didn't fool myself.
I have kept my step streak going with my own accounting, yes, even doing 2000 steps after dinner. Not cheating on myself. Writing it down.
Bewildered by the stupid changes someone made, clearly someone who does not use a Fitbit. I wonder if that person could be in the pay of Apple? (Kidding.) But by taking away motivational tools, including the fireworks when you hit all your marks, they have removed what makes it better than Apple. Also not pretty at all to look at. It’s curious that when you click through to all the different stats, it is still the same old comforting, well-laid out page.
does someone have information that they say they will bring it back in “a couple months? “
I read an article this evening which stated that Fitbit is going to bring back the step streak tracking and also adding it for all users, not just the iOS users!!! They are also working to improve the app screen with less white space and more flexibility for customization.
Agree—streak is very motivating. However, mine used to reset randomly in the old app. I’d look at the records and I hadn’t missed a day. The app just couldn’t keep track of the streak accurately. The old Jawbone app from years ago was a much better app for providing motivation and streaks. Really miss it.
I had that problem once, I panicked then called customer support. They had me upgrade my operating system and that brought it right back. Try this if it happens again. I read today that they’re bringing the streak coin t back. For now I’ve men manually keeping track. I’m over 500 days. How high are you?
No, this feature has been removed in the new update. That’s why they have said they are gonna fix it. Only problem is, it needs to be fixed like asap! That’s one of the main motivators in the app!
Although it's gratifying to see Google reverse course on this inane decision to "upgrade" the user interface, they've lost my trust. I feel they showed their hand and revealed their real motivation. Fitbit used to be "... a passionate team dedicated to health and fitness who are building products that help transform people's lives..." (their words), and after the purchase by Google, they're now a team that is passionate about harvesting user data to build valuable customer profiles that can be sold at a profit (my words).
I'll track my own step streak from steps counted by my phone. Sorry Fitbit, it was fun while it lasted...
I’m at a 988 days step streak. If they bring step streak & battery % back then I’ll stay. Otherwise I got a G### that I’m trying out. Wearing both for now. At one thousand days I planned to switch over so easy to add to a new day count. Hope they add those features back soon.
Hi John, 200 days is a GREAT streak. I too, hope they get this fixed. I just can’t figure out why it’s taking so long, they’re getting slammed on the forum.
They say the streak is coming back. To continue keeping it up as it'll be retroactive - it's not allowing me to add the URL here but you can search: Community Health & Wellness The Pulse - Fitbit Community Blog Your Feedback Matters: Updates coming soon to the ...
Keep up the streak For our iOS users, seeing your Steps streak was an important feature. Seeing the outpour of love for it, we’re bringing back Steps streaks on iOS, and will be launching it for the first time for our Android users, too. Don’t worry, the steps you’ve already taken will still count towards your streak!
I am EXTREMELY frustrated. I like designer watches (it's the one indulgence I allow myself as I am typically very simple in my tastes, and will choose functionality over style 9x out of 10). I haven't worn one in over three years. Do you know why??? Because I wear my fitbit Sense religiously! Do you know why?? Because it tracks my progress, but most importantly my step streak!
Not only is it motivating, as others have stated. There is a bigger reason. It speaks to COMMITMENT. It speaks to something that all of us struggle with in different areas of our lives, but the step streak is a reminder that if we can commit to that, the same principles can be applied to other things. I lost 115lbs. walking! Twice daily, because I needed a health and lifestyle change. Do you know what kept me motivated?? My fitbit and my steps streak.
I have walked well over an average of 12k steps for almost three years (actually avg about 18+k). My step streak was 1000 and change (it actually pans out to 1090..thank God I took a screen shot when I hit 1000), and the prospect of seeing it every day motivated me.
I walked in the snow, rain, and when I wasn't well. I walked in the morning, when it was dark, and after a long, tiring day of work. Why? Not just because it was good for me, but because I didn't want to let myself down by quitting and dealing with the feeling of having given up. My small little fitbit Sense did that for me. And you all, arbitrarily, took that away. There was no reason to, because you kept other features that many of us don't care about. But the step streak...taking it away actually works AGAINST many of the features that fitbit is designed for. IT"S A TRACKER, for goodness sake! It measures things!! That is its sole purpose. So, ironically, one of the best measurement metrics you can track, to inspire habit and consistency, is the one thing you decide to take away.
I can live with the fact that the new design is unbecoming. I can make peace with the fact that you actually made it more difficult to read and to get information at a glance...(we actually have to search for the info now. It's nowhere near as user-friendly). I just do not understand that you, on purpose, removed a tracking feature for a steps tracker.
What is clear to many of us is that you clearly do not understand your customer. If you are reading this and saying to yourself, "Dude, chill...it's not that serious!", it only highlights that fact even more. You have removed a great piece of the value-add that fitbit brought, and made the overall loyalty to the product obsolete.
To be clear, you may think people are pretending to leave the brand just to make you guys change back. Understand that the value is now lost for me, and I will go back to wearing my other watches once this Sense dies. And if you think you are slick, by hoping people just slide over to the Google watch, understand that even those of us that are android people won't fall for the okey-doke and we will take our business elsewhere, because we know Google owns you, and as far as we are concerned, we don't trust the process. You have broken trust, and by that, we have no reason to continue to support this brand.
Do the right thing and fix it, bring it back, and allow us to continue to be proud of ourselves.
Wow-you are very inspiring! Congrats on your accomplishments. And I believe your entire post summed up the situation as well as what the 'overlord' may be thinking haha.....perfectly.
