Bring back the old sleep summary page

When I had my Charge 5 and the first few weeks of having my Charge 6 the app would give me a sleep summary page with, Sleep Stages, Time in each stage, Oxygen levels and Bedtime and wakeup all on a handy page. Since a recent update I now seem to get a much more basic three tiles and I have to open each one and look through for all the information.

It seems that despite all our feedback via this Facebook Community page, that Fitbit has no intention of giving us back the previous sleep data layout.  And in the process of submitting our feedback we are providing them with (at no cost to them) the best market research that could ever imagine.  We are highlighting how important the previous sleep function was to all of us and Fitbit would be feeding off that like hungry sharks.  We all made the decision to buy our Fitbits based on all the functions it was providing to us at the time of purchase.  Without any warning or consultation they took away from us the most user friendly aspect.  The details disclosed for the specific Fitbit update that took that away from us read  *Bug fixes and perfomance improvements with no disclosure / transparency of their intent to make such a change".  Best Business Practice - non existent.  And unwittingly, in our endeavour to have Fitbit, do what is in the best interests of their 'valued customers' we're being used for data collection.

The new designbis just horrible. Definately my last fitbit product.

Garmin is way better.

Like everyone else has stated, the update is not an improvement. It's horrible. The main reason I started to use this fitbit a couple years ago was to monitor my heart rate. I have been on premium for 2 years. I deeply value the sleeping heart rate. It helps me understand the HRV and other results I get.  I really need that data back.  If Fitbit isn't going to bring it back I will need to look at other options. Does anyone have suggestions?  Also, the new view is just horrible to look at but this is secondary to the actual data.

The readability of the new sleep graph is extremely poor compared to the old one. I genuinely think a new user would struggle to read it without previous experience with the old UI. Also as stated in other comments, it was really nice to be able to see the list of scores of previous days and then have the ability to tap a day to see more information. I don't know if some of the old features like the HR variability moved to premium, but if the UI is the same as for a basic account, there is definitely not enough added value for me to ever contemplate signing up for a premium subscription. I don't really want to lose all the data I've accumulated over the years with using Fitbit, but this UI change is a huge deterrent. I'll be looking for a competitor once my current device needs a replacement.

I would like the sleep data returned to it’s previous layout too!

Fitbit (Goofle) is not responding, indicating they have no respect for
owners.

The Sleep app was the last bit of my Fitbit that was useful. Now that is it
gone, I have begun the switch to Oura

I have not heard of Oura. Will check that out.
Yes, Google/fitbit does not care about their customers of they would DO
SOMETHING TO FIX THIS!!!

I couldn’t agree more with all these comments. The new sleep graph is the worst design fail I’ve ever seen. Unless of course the objective was to make things illegible and confusing???

the watches have been garbage forever. I have to replace mine every couple of years. I stayed for the data and the app. The app went from slick to monochromatic and basic a year ago - but the data was still good.

this latest update is a step in the wrong direction. You’re pushing us to save up for an Apple Watch!!

you’re on thin ice, Fitbit!

Go to the Play store and run your updates. My benchmarks didn't work at
first and now they do.

You might have prefaced that with a "thank you"

Now, why do they suck? They tell me what I wanted to know. Can you expand
on what you don't like about the fix?

People complained about the benchmarks, they heard it and made an attempt
to fix it. That is a step in the right direction. I am personally happy
with the fix.

"Thank you???"  Seriously @jtpryan.

Google's developers hosed a previous superior product to the point many, we will be joining that crowd shortly, have migrated to other platforms and everyone should be grateful for their having possibly fixed one little feature they screwed up?  I think not.  Your positive assessment stands in stark contrast to the legions of angry users on this and other threads.

@rcfoulk

Yes, I provided him with a way to restore the benchmark view to his Android
app. It worked, I would expect a "thank you" for that. Not a "they suck"

Perhaps "Thank you for telling me about the update, it worked, but I still
don't like the interface"

But I guess being polite in the community is trumped by "Fitbit sucks"
comments.

So yes @rcfoulk, really. seriously.

As to your ending comment you are saying that even if they fix something
they deserve no credit. Is this what this "community" has digressed to?
The "Fitbit sucks even if they fix everything" group. I dare say even if
they did "bring back the old sleep summary page" everybody here would
*still* not be happy.

By the way Android users, before complaining about any product it's a good
idea to run the app updates to see if the issue has been resolved in the
latest version.

@jtpryan You have a remarkably low threshold for being thankful.  Out of the myriad of features that have been mauled since the 9/23 "update," to you personally it seems fixing one small thing is worthy of grateful praise.  I disagree.  And note that the Fitbit device itself doesn't suck.  That's not what folks are unhappy over.  It's the same great product that my wife and I have enjoyed over the years in managing our health and activity information.  Google, has enforced an application design concept that was never tested before the user community, you know, those silly people that use that granular information that had been so clearly and compactly presented prior.  And this new design concept has for most aside from the notable few, you included, effectively decimated the overall utility of an otherwise great device.  Many people use the sleep portion of the app, or at least did before it feel subject to the same mistaken "improvement" concept, to work with sleep disorders, even sharing data with their health care provider.  While previously the sleep portion of the application listed previous nights sleep detail over time, something of data gold for really tracking sleep, that was blown away to be replace by the pretty much useless 30-day average.  That's but one glaring example of a profound misunderstanding of how users employ, or did employ, this device as part of their health and activity monitoring.  Gone is the granular data that so many valued, us included.  So, no.  There is no functional basis for gratitude here.  You don't run over my dog and then expect me to be grateful for your having moved the dead body to the side of the road.

I agree.  I use a Fitbit to check my sleep, heart rate, and my Active Zone Minutes.  Without those features, it's a glorified, expensive pedometer.  I already don't care for it as a watch, so if not for needing it to be able to access my Apple Fitness+, I would ditch my Fitbit.  They need to bring back the old features, and no, I'm not paying for Premium.  I already paid quadruple what I would have if I bought a regular watch.

@rcfoulk  To be clear, I was talking about thanking ME not fitbit.  I gave him the solution to the problem (benchmarks) he had complained of.  I also noted that in fact at least one issue had been addressed by Fitbit.  Yes, it may be one of many, but still should be recognized.

Yeah, I must have a low expectation.  I too use it for tracking sleep.  Yes, I can understand people not liking a new interface.  But the bottom line for me is I still get all same information I did before, just in a different format.  I get my rem, awake, deep, and light phases and what time they happened and the percentage.  If I want to see the old style I go to the "you" tab, but I find I don't really need to. I can still see how many hours of sleep I got and what times I was waking up.  I mean it could probably use some tweaking but I don't really see any missing data.  Now, you obviously do and honestly, I'd like to know what's missing.

I’m a she not he… I am so frustrated…
I liked the old way of reading them and seeing them.
This way does not work. I can’t see it.
I can’t read it.
I get NO USEFUL INFORMATION FROM THIS.

If there was anything useful about this it would be fine. But there isn’t.
I have called and asked Fitbit to fix it. Or to allow a way to use the old
version. But no. So I am shopping for a new tracker that provides useful
information. They do not care.

@jtpryan, you must never have used the history that was one of the most valuable aspects of the sleep function.  That data is no longer there.  Being able to look at detail over past nights was of particular value which is totally lost with that worthless 30-day average.  The suggest solution to take a screen shot of the sleep data each day is beyond ridiculous.  Anybody at least vaguely familiar with parametric statistics understands that lots of very interesting and valuable information can be lost in an average, which is precisely the case here with respect to sleep.  A lot of the other various pieces of information are still there but it's mouse hunt frequently to find it where the prior version, specifically the 3.9x version, had it laid out clearly and logically.  That the so-called developers failed to appreciate that users might value detailed history is more than baffling and remarkably short sighted on their part.  Most people that use fitness tracers do so for the granular data and frankly don't give a ***ahem*** about the new emphasis on coaching so we don't need to worry our pretty little heads over data detail (that new emphasis was presented in a Google post).  Give the use all of the data in a clear format like before and they would find that objections would trickle to nil.  We grumpy users and soon-to-be former users want the granular data in a clear and concise format, and that shouldn't be too much to ask.
