Check SpO2 at anytime on supported Fitbit devices

The new Sp02 clock face is nice, but can you also add the ability to check Sp02/pulse ox at anytime during the day rather than just during sleep?

Can I haz a new smartwatch for free because I've bought charge 3 about 3 years ago only for ondemand spo2 readings?

As someone with chronic lung disease being able to check my oxygen level on demand is essential to living my healthiest life. I bought fitbit sense because it had the capability, not understanding that it works only during sleep which is nice, but I paid 3x what i paid for my last fitness watch which had fairly accurate readings on demand and it isn't happening on even a consistent schedule with this more expensive watch. Not even being a premium subscriber gets me this critical function. This really needs to be an on demand function, with a reminder to "calibrate" with oximeter at doctor's office. My last was not 100% accurate, but it was consistently 3% under what medical grade oximeter was. Knowing this was fairly important, but just having a good general idea of % is extremely important.

Agreed with MissBliss73. A watch like sense, that costs at least double price than other smartwatch needs to have this feature as default.

They told me they can if enough of us want it.
That’s why I started this forum.
Let’s keep it going. Thanks.

I used to use Samsung Health to whenever I wanted to on my note 8 measure my pulse, stress and SpO2 readings. I bought the fitbit charge 4 because it said it has pulse, SpO2 and other useful things. It did not say "these values are only measured while you are asleep and you can not ask for a reading at will" so I am really disappointed in that.

I want to be able to at will use all the sensors that the fitbit has, from the fitbit itself, not using the phone app, but I would like to swipe from the right side to get to where the exercise, relax and other items are, and there have another option, where I can "check all readings now" then it measures all the things and gives me the data right there, and later when synced shows it in the app on the phone and on the dashboard on the site. This should also not be a premium feature, it is ridiculous that one has to pay as much as the device itself costs, per year, to get full use of it, if I knew that I would not have bought it, and same goes for not being able to use the sensors at will.

Also I would like to be able to go into settings on the fitbit itself, tell it how often I want to measure SpO2 and all other readings, and have that be easy to see, suitable settings maybe: as often as pulse measurement warning battery will drain faster, once per minute, once every 5 minutes, once every 10 minutes, once per hour, only during rest, off.

Not just during sleep. I know that the reason for during sleep is that it can tell more about ones health, while resting, however the readings are also useful while not resting, and can allow one to see if there is something going on, and then calm down focus on breathing a bit till everything gets back to normal.

Currently I regret buying the fitbit charge 4, since it lacks the ability to use the sensors at will, I thought fitbit was better than other options that are available, I guess I was wrong, I sincerely hope this will be fixed.

Well the WIFI died in both of our Versa 2's just after 13 and 14 months old. Had insurance on one of them. So because of the lack of a proper O2 sensor for instant readings, we just ended up going to the Apple Watch 6 because my partner needed both the EKG and O2 Sensor and I needed the O2 sensor. Maybe we'll come back to Fitbit in a couple of years. 😞

This is a must have!  If you already included this feature, why limit it?

A lot disappointed that FitBit does not have on-demand pulse oximetry but has on-demand ECG.  You are already monitoring pulse at all times… you aren’t going to convince me this is anything other than laziness on the part of the developers.  This would drastically improve functionality to your devices and make it a more desirable technology for people with health conditions and elderly.  As a medical professional, this seems ridiculous…

SanketAgrawai - This "feature" has been requested since 2018, do you honestly believe that anyone actually pays attention to this forum?  If the representation here were any fraction of the people that actually wanted SpO2 measurement, but didn't know this forum existed, or were too shy, too intimidated, or simply didn't feel it necessary to put their voice in with everyone else in here, perhaps, but until Fitbit/Google begin to feel the effect in the only place they are concerned about (ie. bottom line), Fitbit users will simply "want in one hand, and poop in the other, and see which one get's full first".  Sad, but that's just the way it is.

@oeagleo Just bought a Versa last week. The attention to customer satisfaction and product wants seems to minimal at best.

I returned the Versa I had and bought a TicWatch Pro 3 GPS, and am SO glad I did.  Sleep tracking is on par with the Fitbit, but has 24/7 SpO2, stress, and has a pretty good support communitiy, I couldn't figure out how to take a screenshot on mine, and within an hour someone replied on the FB page..  Actually, I think it was the same, or less money too.  Oh well, I'm glad I caught mine in time to return it..  I'm not "bitter" about the Fitbit, but I do wish they were a bit more responsive, the SpO2 thing is only a software change, the hardware is already there or they wouldn't be able to check it at all.

Fitbit developers do not care I have used almost every Fitbit watch and liked them but using Fitbit Sense it is anticlimax cheap Chinese watches are much better I have stopped using Fitbit sense

Currently the Fitbit charge 3 and 4 devices do track the variations in blood oxygen levels during sleep, but a reasonable percentage of users like me tend not to wear the Fitbit at night.I am hoping Fitbit can add functionality that would measure the spO2 in real time ,since they already have the sensor built in and maybe add it to apps/clock face.

Hi @Nav-11, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to see SpO2 data at anytime on supported Fitbit devices. I've moved it into a similar request. I think that a lot of users would like to have this option on their Fitbit devices. You can learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released in our FAQs.

Dear Fitbit;
I know this is falling on deaf ears but if other cheaper watches can do spo2 on demand why can't you? It's not much to ask. My battery has been dying within a day on my versa and I can't afford an Apple watch 6 yet so I bought a $30 let's fit watch off Amazon. Press a button and with in a minute you have on demand spo2 reading that is exactly what my actual pulse ox says. I need it to help decide if I need to use my rescue inhaler when in public and it's easier to press a button. Not saying I'll never go back to Fitbit but not right now, and with apple working on glucose monitor for the 7, you people are falling further behind.

I totally agree this suggestion, we need check SP02 realtime

I would use this feature daily! It's silly to me that this wasn't part of the watch from the start especially since it was a big feature on the apple watch which is the direct competitor for the sense.

There is no app for checking realtime spO2 levels in fitbit versa 3. Kindly provide this essential feature as it's already available even in cheap fitness tracker bands

Hi @Shr3yas, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback about the possibility of  checking realtime SpO2 levels in Versa 3. A similar feature suggestion already exists, so I’ve moved your post here, this helps to keeps the boards more organized. Make sure to add your vote as well to support this suggestion, this helps the team of developers to keep track of popularity and demand over time.

This is a must have feature. Fitbit has to add it to remain at the same level as competitors already do.
