Hi, Guys. It probably takes two to tango for something like this. So, please be sure to send a secure message under "contact us" at citi.com to ask them to connect to Fitbit Pay. Thanks.
Yes, but it would be nice if a Fitbit moderator were to confirm this, and respond and make this request of the community. So far, all we have heard from Fitbit on this forum is - "we are considering this 'feature', vote for it if you want Citibank integration and maybe we'll add it to our roadmap".
Why would I waste my time asking Citi to drive Fitbit integration, if Fitbit doesn't have it on their list of priorities at all - Almost 12 months after releasing the Fitbit Pay on the Ionic. Outrageous, considering the size of the Citibank credit card customer base.
+1 to this please, that makes a total so far of 55 comments.
I received this answer from a Citibank representative when asked about why Citibank and Fitbit Pay currently aren't partners. "We do not have any issue, it must be [an] issue from Fitbit side. I request you please contact with Fitbit, they will explain it to you." As so here I am, contacting Fitbit's Moderator on what I believe to be the correct thread for this topic. Could you please explain the hold up/concerns/reason for this lack of compatibility? I, like these other folks primarily use a Citibank credit card. I have a Charge 3 special edition on preorder, and am wondering if I will even use the payment feature. Much future thanks!
I just tried to add my Citi card to Fitbit pay & it failed. I was advised that Citi is still not supported and it is not listed on their supported bank list so I don’t know how it would have worked for you?
@Monomath, Do you understand that @Veganshark is posting his comment in the Feature Suggestions page for Citibank credit support for Fitbit Pay? He posted that for the moderators to see because he already understands that it currently doesn't work.
Thanks, @Darren_Ertis. You are amazingly perspicacious.
I've been on this thread for the past 8 months, with tons of people chiming in that they want Citi integration. The only response we have had from Fitbit is "we will think about it", which is unacceptable given the size of the Citibank cardholder base (4th largest among all banks), when Fitbit has prioritized, other, much smaller banks for integration. I'm just letting him know that he shouldn't hold out any hope that Fitbit will ever provide this integration - and that i'm giving up as well and selling my Ionic.
I had been fully committed to Fitbit with the Blaze, Flex 2, Ionic,Thermos water bottle & Aria scale. I had purchased the Alta & Charge 2 for my wife, the Blaze for my son and the Alta for my daughter.
Then, I was forced to return the Versa that I pre-ordered because I could not have the Versa and the Ionic that paid $299 for 6 months earlier on the same Fitbit account at the same time. Now, I am a 20 year Citibank client and I can't enjoy Fitbit Pay on my Ionic because Citi is not supported while small banks that I never heard of are supported.
I have had enough of getting frustrated, making important concessions to remain with Fitbit and Fitbit remaining completely silent on the Ionic/Versa issue and the Citibank Fitbit Pay problem. I just ordered the Apple Watch and will enjoy using my Citibank card to pay with Apple Pay on the watch, answering calls, responding to texts (which can only do with Android phones on Fitbit), having Siri assistant available, the new walkie talkie feature between Apple watches with my family members, having a full app store, etc., etc., etc.
"Please note that if something is under consideration and chosen for development, it can be a while until it's released or until I have any news to share. Please watch this space for any updates! Thanks for your patience." - @SantiR@MarcelBKThis update was posted 100 days ago, it has been a while!
Fitbit's definition of:
Under consideration: We think this is a good idea and are discussing how we could move this forward.
Are you really discussing how to move this forward? Because Citibank is already supported by: Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Google Pay. Citibank clearly supports Digital Wallets.
So could we at least get an update or a reason for the delay! Thanks!
Come on folks. With Costco now accepting NFC payments and the most prominent card at Costco being the Costco Citi card, it is high time that you guys support this Bank. Really not sure what is the issue here with you guys supporting most other major banks in the US.
Just bit the bullet and got a Costco credit card like most of you and was really surprised that it isn't supported even though my Google Pay works just fine.
