Continuous Glucose Monitoring

New blood glucose measuring technology is rapidly advancing with more non-invasive methods looking likely to enter the market this year. As a Type 1 Diabetic it's a real pain (literally sometimes) to have to hurt my finger several times a day to get a glucose reading. One of the new methods of non-invasive glucose monitoring is using a laser to measure the amount of glucose in the blood. http://www.gluco-wise.com/ If Fitbit could somehow integrate similar technology into the wrist watches it could open up a significant revenue stream and also would help improve diabetic glucose monitoring. The benefits of this would be enormous for health departments, particularly in the UK where Diabetes is becoming more prevalent and people are suffering health issues due to poor diabetes management. Also add insulin reminders.

Adding a blood sugar/glucose log to correlate with diet/weight.

Hello,

it would be a very useful feature to have a way &/or tile to track blood sugar.  It seems like it would be an easy addition - pretty straight forward to set up technically.

Also a tile or place to put personal notes.

Thank you

Get with it FITBIT peeps!  You market to Diabetics, yet you don't go the distance by offering a FITBIT that can record a glucose reading!  Yet you think you can somehow predict when a woman is going to get her period???????

You really need to sit at the R&D table and figure this out.  Maybe you should have a couple of diabetics on your Research and Development team.

Thanks for letting me share.

Totally makes sense, doesn't it? Yet, this thread has been going for years.
Many of us DON'T want any direct measurement of blood glucose or blood
pressure, NOT looking for a medical device, but just a way to manually
track this data--consistently ignored.

If you find an economical device that is more responsive, please let us all
know.

Please can you add blood sugar tracking to the Inspire HR.  It would be really useful for diabetics when they are making decisions about and logging meals.

As a recently diagnosed Type 2 diabetic, I take my blood glucose seriously, and my Fitbit has helped me to track my food intake daily. I would love to be able to also track my sugar counts in conjunction with my exercise, food and water intake, and calories. This would be extremely beneficial to several people. Also, not just having a caloric count for the foods but a total carbohydrate count that is less difficult to understand and track would also be beneficial to those who must watch carefully what they eat and when they eat.

My Fitbit has helped me track my food intake, weight loss and exercise so much during the last year that I have been able to lose over 45 pounds and control my sugar counts with exercise. I would just like an easier way to track this than having multiple notebook notes laying around. It would be beneficial to have it "on hand" just like the food count on the dashboard.

Glucose monitoring has been mentioned in the past. Appears to be 4 or 5 years ago. Worth mentioning again.  I am not diabetic but believe we all should be concerned with our glucose level. I believe the Apple watch has this feature.  It can be positioned as informational and not a medical device.  Apple uses a third party product which I believe already has FDA approval. This can be another approach if FDA approval is required.  This is too important and with heart monitoring will make a Fitbit a must have device for most people. Love to see it on a future Charge 4.

Hi,

Many Diabetics use so-called Continuous Glucose Monitoring Systems - they are essentially sensor patches that connect to ones phone via bluetooth and let you know about blood sugar levels. These already connect to the Apple watch (e.g. in the case of the Dexcom G6 device), could something similar be done for the Charge 3?

Many thanks,

Alex

Hi @amp24, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback about having the option to connect Fitbit with Continuous Glucose Monitoring Systems, this feature suggestion already exists so I’ve moved your post here as it is currently marked as "Under Consideration".

This helps maintain the Community and the Feature Suggestion board more organized.

Either manual user input or partnering with another app, this kind of tracking along with the Fitbit's current features would be invaluable to diabetics out there using Fitbits, allowing a better way to log and visualize sugar and insulin levels, which are things we have to obsess over as it is.

I would love to be able to see my continuous glucose on my Versa 2.  I can get a high and low blood count as a notification.  And Dexcom Clarity as a notification and it would also be a excellent improvement.  It is available on the Apple Watches, why not FitBIt.  Please make it available

I agree.  Why why why does Fitbit not link to OneTouch diabetes (type 2) monitor and other monitors.  Do they want us to buy Apple Watches!!  They keep saying "we are looking into this".  NEXT update must address link to Diabetes monitor apps.
