Convertible Clip/Wrist-Based Tracker

I would love to have a device that would be able to switch between a clip and a wristband.

I want the convience of the wristband, but let's be honest, it doesn't really jive with a blacktie outfit.

When I'm dressed up, I'd love to be able to wear a clip instead, but I don't want to have to buy 2 devices and try to figure out how to sync them both (if you even can).

I also would love to see some more femine wristbands, a little dresser. I have to wear business attire at work, and the current wristband selections just don't go with most of my outfits.

Just some ideas 🙂

Yes, please!  A clip would be fantastic!  And the corresponding mode in the settings instead of just "dominant" or "non-dominant" wrist.

I would love to be able to switch back and forth between a clip and a wrist strap (or ankle strap, or arm strap, etc). I'd fork over the money for a Blaze this instant if I had the option to wear it with a clip some of, or most of the time.

I agree with @Emilymb1 that a setting for clip would also be useful.  I could be wrong, but it doesn't seem like there needs to be a fundamental design change to the device to be able to work on a wrist, or clipped onto clothes.  I would think adjusting the sensitivity with software would be accurate enough.

Please either add this feature, or if you must, release a new model that can be easily switched between these options.

Thanks for your support thoughts!  I currently wear mine on an generic clip from Amazon currently, but it isn't able to track sleep unless it is on the wristband ... that is purely a software change (not even a "change" since my old Fitbit One used to do it just fine!)

I love Fitbit but I work in food and beverage at a major theme park and cannot wear anything on my wrists for sanitation reasons. I love the watches, but wish that they came with a clip on accessory so that I could use them at work and wear them on my wrist on my days off. Are you guys working on developing anything like that? Fitbit has been around for awhile now, how has this not already been thought of?

Also, I used to have a Fitbit one but accidentally killed it in the wash. I really want to buy a new Fitbit but am interested in a model that offers heart rate monitoring and all the great features that are offered on many of the newer Fitbit wristbands, again with the option to be clipped onto my bra when I'm at work and a fashions watch when I'm off. It would also be fabulous if it could be waterproof/resistant. I love to swim and don't like that I have to remove it to get in the pool, it would also help to avoid it dying after accidentally being thrown in the wash. There is no reason that I should have to purchase two divices(that's too expensive and are difficult to sync multiple devices accurately). These issues are what have kept me from purchasing a new Fitbit.

Considering how many people have left similar comments it would be nice to feel like Fitbit is listening to the people who purchase their products.

Please do not discontinue the ONE.  Even though the Zip is a clip option, it does not count stairs and the square design is just bulky.  The wrist options are just not acceptable to me.  I like watches and bracelets and don't want to wear a Fitbit that does not go with my attire, especially formal dresses.  The ONE was easy to wear and well hidden.  On the forum one Fitbit employee says the ONE is not being discontinued and another Fitbit employee says it is being discontinued.  If it isn't being discontinued, why are they not in stock?  KEEP THE ONE!!!! PLEASE!!!!

I have had the One for years. I love it! I don't need an HR monitor and I don't want to wear anything on my wrist. I already wear a watch on my left wrist and I'm right handed. A plastic black activity bracelet on my right wrist. I love the One, but now it's not working well. I would consider the Alta HR as that has a display I like, but it needs to have a clip carrier. There are other manufacturers on other sites that sell something for the Alta and I think you guys are missing some sales by not offering accessories to help us wear other trackers as clips. Like I said, I love my one and want to keep using it as long as possible as it has all the options I love. The Zip is NOT an option. The other trackers don't have a display I like and I don't need ANOTHER watch. So, PLEASE consider making a clip for the trackers that are not watches! Especially before you totally discontinue the One. I'd also like to add that y'all are really upsetting a HUGE amount of folks that use the One. Some you may not get back if you don't offer other ways to wear other trackers.

I need an alternative to wearing any tracker on the wrist due to severe allergy to the material it's make

of. Wearing the charge HR recently caused a severe burn with blistering that takes more than a month to clear. I just ordered a black ONE on your site as a last resort. I have had a One and previously an Ultra for many years.

Someone should listen to their customers who made them famous when their were only clip ons!!!

If Fitbit will please take into consideration from the posts regarding the Fitbit One being discontinued and look at the prices they are now being sold for from questionable sellers on eBay they could see there is a great market for this clip on tracker with the features you can't get with the Zip or the Alta.

The only problem with the Fitbit One and the reason why I went though 3, (maybe 4), of them is the rubber holder which broke down constantly.  I don't know how many holders I went through and it was the cause of my last one being permanently damaged.  It is also the reason why I did not order anything from Fitbit to replace it.

If Fitbit would consider designing a Fitbit Two they would have a enthusiastic customer base.  Work on a better case.  The device itself had great features but they could improve or add a a few technological features just to say they did.

Wrist trackers are not for everyone and you've heard here the reasons why.  Please listen to customers who want small discreet trackers. Counting stairs is a must to those who are recommending the Zip or wearing the Alta on a clip.  The new Ionic looks huge and this is not something all of your customer base wants.

Thanks for listening.

I think revamping the Fitbit One is maybe a good idea--or at least come out with something comparable:  1. a clip on for accuracy & protection for the device from damage when doing dirty chores such as yard work  2. something that counts steps, miles, & floors/stairs! 3. something that tracks sleep

The other clip on device(s) Fitbit has right now are not comparable to the One.  They are downgrades in my opinion.

Currently @JeniP only the One, zip, flex and Flex 2 have clip options.

Everything you say that you want in a clip on init i see in my One. As for sleep stages, a heart monitor is needed.

But they are discontinuing the One by the end of this year. So, folks are trying to figure out which other options they have to wear the other trackers like they wear the One.

@StaceyB93 and where might you have read that the One is being discontinued?

Here in the forums! It's even marked "Solved" and states that they are discontinuing them.

I would happily replace my dying 'One' with a 'Flex 2' if the Flex 2 had a clip that allowed wearing in my bra, as the 'One' does.

Please consider!

Since folks have been asking for a clip to be made for your wristband devices since 2014, I'm not at all optimistic that FitBit will do so now. Despite the hundreds of dissatisfied customers who have written about the battery drain on their FitBit Ones caused by the latest update on August 10, nothing has been fixed. Really? The One is being discontinued, and the current alternatives are not accept to most of the One customers. Just because I am trying to be more optimistic, consider this another appeal to provide a clip that can convert one of your wristband devices to be worn in a pocket or on a belt.

I would love this too! I currently use a treadmill desk for part of the day. A wristband tracker doesn't work at all in that situation because my hands are typing on the keyboard the whole time and my arms aren't swinging back and forth, so no steps are counted by the tracker despite me walking 5+ miles. I've been using a FitBit One clip-on tracker for the past few years but now that model has been discontinued. If I had a convertible wristband/clip-on tracker, I could wear it as a clip while walking at the treadmill desk and wear it as a wristband the rest of the time.

The Flex 2 is convertable.

I think some of the trackers should have a clip version optional accessory. There are times and occasions when it is not appropriate to wear the wristband. To have a clip version that I could wear, inconspicuously, on my inside pocket, would be a great option. I also find that the tracker does not track my steps when holding onto a shopping cart, so a clip version would work better for shopping trips. Thanks for listening.

Personally I find a wristwatch-style device hurts my wrists when I'm on the
computer. Do I want to have to keep taking it off & putting it back on
every single time I get up from my desk? Nope! A clip option that I can put
on my bra, where it can still monitor my heart rate for accurate exercise
info, would be fantastic!

You should make a clip for all your wrist devices.  There are times when I don’t want to wear it but still want to track my steps and would like it protected.  Like when I am gardening and working in dirt.   Also when my hand is stationary when mowing the lawn and it won’t track my steps since my arm is not moving
