Countdown timer that allows for more than 90 minutes

Very simple: I would like a countdown clock function that allows me to set a countdown for a length of time greater than 90 minutes (as is the current limitation).

Example:

00:00:00

The place holders representing:

Hours-minutes-seconds

Hi @SunsetRunner, thanks for taking the time to share this suggestion about having the option to customized countdown timer. I've moved it into a similar request. I think that a lot of users would like to have this option on their Fitbit devices. You can learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released in our FAQs.

I use my watch’s timer for brewing tea, doing physiotherapy exercises, managing laundry, etc. On both my WearOS watch and Apple Watch, I could access four recent timer settings/presets. Please also add the ability to set timers over 99 minutes; having to “leapfrog” long timer durations is a very bad user experience.

Hi, try the SimpleTimer app from the gallery, it has a 23 hour timer and many other advantages, such as remembering 4 presets and the active one, the current time is displayed at the same time as counting, and has many other features such as Repeat, Auto Start, Display on or off option as well as Auto cancel alert for repeat timers. But it only does one timer at a time. If you use it in conjunction with the SimpleClockPro clock face it will run in background. The button will do start and pause, more useful when using the stop watch.

Thanks! I’ll give those a look.

I use timers every day and it would be very helpful if it was made possible to have a timer longer than 60 minutes and 59 seconds. Could you please add an option in settings to change the interval from "minutes and seconds" to "hours and minutes"? Thank you!

I find it interesting that this comment was made in 2018 and it’s currently 2022 and I’m having the same issue. Having three fields of time would be a great improvement to the timer app on my Fitbit luxe.

This is my #1 feature request as well. Please add a hours to timer. Anything over 24hours use the alarm but there is a 23hr gap in coverage as it stands.

If you have a watch that can load apps and clock faces there is a Simple4Timer that has upto 4 concurrent timers which will run in background to the SimpleClockPro clock face. A good compromise. Max time per timer is nearly a day, though an Alarm could be recommended for really long timers.

It does require that one or the other are running and is easy to setup and consult progress, with simply a double tap.

Developers are not allowed to make timers and alarms apps that run fully in background.

Very disappointing that the countdown timer can not accommodate hours. The majority of tasks I would use the countdown timer for would require me to go upwards of 60 minutes 🙁.

I use timers for lots of tasks.  It needs to have an hour feature to the timer.  99 minutes is so short and not useful.  I take a prescription every three hours during the day and would like to be able to set a reminder on my watch instead of relying on my phone.  I have used inexpensive Timex watches that had a much better timer feature.  Please Fitbit try harder to do a little better than a cheap watch.  Thanks.

Hi @Bluebasinrain - you are right the default timer needs improving however we had a simil case and set up multiple alarms or you could try the Simple4Timer as addon to SimpleClockPro suggested earlier has a lon repeat timer if you are using a smart watch type Versa 2 or 3 or Sense

25/02/2023!!!! New Sense 2. Max 99 minutes timer.... And there is no options to install 3partys apps.... I Will return or sell this watch as second hand...  The only way to set a timer is by voice with alexa and this won't without internet working on a plane...

Yes to a longer timer, 59 minutes is not long enough. It would also be nice to have some preset timers to choose from. Charge 5.

Have the native timer on the Sense 2 exceed the 99min 59sec limit.

Isn't anyone at Fitbit listening to the User Comments?? We Need Hours back! I used the Timer feature with the Hours and Minutes settings daily. It was very handy. Makes no sense why it was changed! Please change it back how it was before. Make everyone much more happy. Especially those that depend on it. I hope the developers are reading these comments!. Help us out! Bring back the options to choose hours! It's not a huge request. Come on now. So disappointing. No one cares at Fitbit I guess. Google doesn't care.
