Customizable Challenges (like start date, duration etc)

I would like to be able to set which days I want for a challenge. Not all of my friends work a workweek (Mon-Fri). I would like to be able to make a challenge thats like Thurs-Sun or Mon-Wed-Fri. Or whatever days my friends work during that week. Choose teams and partners.

This post is to the point where literally there is nothing new to say, the past 30 ideas have already been said

This!!!!

I don't understand why steps is the only challenge option. Surely a customisable challenged for any duration on any of the metrics measured would be an easy development... My girlfriend has already stopped using fre device as due to our job she out steps me but I burn way more calories...

Steps is fine to introduce activity but for those who have exercised for a long time it isn't nevessarily that important. I honk lots of users will get bored with that.

This is the only aspect of the app I thinking under developed.

Wonder when Fitbit will take notice...

Emailed Fitbit about customising challenges so you can set your own measurable metric targets for friend challenges. My girlfriend has stopped using her forbit as steps were a pointless challenge for us. Despite all the support for his it seems Fitbit don't care if customers get bored... We have already bought the device, customers aren't worth more revenue after that so they clearly don't care. This development would be a huge challenge for the developers. Fitbit customer service advised me to come to the forum... They ignored the fact my girlfriend stopped using as the social aspect of our devices was limited and boring......

Another thing for challenges: you could add a certain amount of stepsteps, such as 150K, and see who reaches it first. This coupd also be done for distance/calories/active minutes/floors Challenges are part of Fitbit that motivates many users to stay active, and I would love to see improvement in this part of the app.

I love the idea of custom challenges! While most users of the Fitbit use it as a step tracker primarily, I use it as an overall fitness and workout motivator. I love that it can track my workouts and show me a track record; I'd love to see a little competition added between friends! Maybe a challenge such as "workout 4X a week for 4 weeks in a row" and/or reach Peak for over 50% of your workouts for a certain number of workouts, etc. These are just some ideas that come to mind. Hope Fitbit hears us. I can't ever win the step challenges anyway because I have the Blaze which counts steps significantly less than any of the other models.

Also voting for this. Due to time zone difference I keep getting shut out of challenges because of the 5 limit. Also I'd love to rename them.

I also am a long time user for Fitbit and use it for more than just steps. Got to work the whole body! Plus most of my family has flat feet and they simply do not find that the step challenges fork for them. If we could get total calories that would be great.

I really love the idea of customizable personal challenges. I've been using Fitbit since November 2012, and I love it!  As other have also said, I use it for more than just a step tracker. The ability to create personal challenges (ie weight loss) would be great. I'd love the option to get a badge if I created my own personal weight loss challenge for 4 weeks and lost the amount of weight in my goal. Fingers crossed.

Sooo, is FITBIT actually going to do something about this meaningless limitation?? Over 1200 votes, that could get someone's attention.. 😔

It's total bs and so poor, if Fitbit adopted he proactive approach of say waze, Fitbit would be the only fit accessory to have....

My friend and I are counting down to a trip and would love to challenge each other to 400,000 steps before the trip - but there is no way to make a custom challenge 😢 Please, FitBit, this request goes back YEARS in the community - help us out!!!

I enjoy the challenges the most, they motivate me more than anything.

How about being able to change/alter challenges.

Would be nice to be able to edit the name of the challenges....ex:  I am weekly in two...Family & Friends.

Also would like the option to change the timing.......I have a desk job, and hate being in a challenge with a nurse, so much we dont invite them because we cant match their step counts, petty I know, but I like to win.....I would love to challenge them to the non work steps. Have the challenges have a specific start time, ex: Weekly steps taken after 5pm.  (or whatever time the participant chooses when they accept the challenge.)

Also removing the 10 person limit in the challenges would be nice.

I would love to see all of this change. I have 2 family, a co-worker and at least one goal day going at all times. So many of us would like to be able to combine and start challenges early and customize our challenges. I would love to see all of the mentioned options implemented.

I agree with this post ..

The step challenges are great but leaves us users asking for more !!!

I was looking around the forums under this topic this something that has been brought up in early 2015.

Looking forward to see what future challenge options will apper  with updates

So I may be the only one that would like this but I think it should be brought to attention, I think there should be more challenges than just step challenges. It would make it more fun to see who can burn the most calories or walk the most miles or have the most active minutes or who can climb the most Floors. There are so many more ways to have friends and family challenge each other through this Fitbit app and I think it would be awesome and more fun to have more than just STEP challenges.

I agree with this!! Not everyone has a 9-5 Mon-Fri job. I really would like to see  the features be 24/7 flexible so that one can tailor them to one's own real life. I'm a nurse working 7pm-8am, 3 nights a week. When I work out, I do so very late at night as well. I would like my activity times to be during these hours, but the clocks won't roll over, which is challenging. Please consider changing this in a future update. Thank you.

My work is thinking about challenges because of the amount of people who have fitbit. Has anything been done to allow larger then 10 users in a challenge? We may fill that number up immediately.

or possibly being able to group different challenge groups. LIke grouping 2 groups of 10.

I find myself just choosing exercises that give me steps so I can do well in challenges and I feel like it's holding me back in my workouts . Challenging each other to active minutes, floors and even the 250 steps per hour feature will encourage me to work harder .

This would be great, especially something for Activity measured in total hours would be something that fits best with my workout style. I'm sure others would love activity weekly totals or daily challenges like the hourly step counts but for general activity.

I have osteoarthritis and am trying to lose weight while maintaining the function of my hips before getting another hip replaced and I cannot do step activities. The only workout I'm cleared for is a recumbent bicycle which doesn't count steps. Usually it records about 10% of my steps from my arm movement but on a stationary recumbent bike, you don't move your arms much. I finally stopped joining the challenges because what's the point?

I agree! I'm taking part in the 30 Days of Biking challenge. Since I'm on a bike..I'm not walking. I'd love other kinds of challenges than just steps.

I have all these active minutes now... but fewer steps.

I agree we need challenges other than just step count. There should be challenges around all of the areas of the app. Calories burned, water intake, active minutes, workouts, etc.

Would keep me more motivated. I don't use challenges because of the current limitation.

I'd agree completely, we should be able to compete in challenges based on more of what's measured on the app.
