Hey Rich_Laue, I'm new to the community, but I expected a community that's all about encouraging people to be fitter and healthier to be a really positive one. I'm surprised to see people here being so rude to others. When I was on the forum last night (when I put my reply in here) there were many features that weren't working. I couldn't sort the forum so that I could see the newest feature recommendations and the search wasn't finding posts that I had seen previously. Perhaps next time you reply to someone, you could think of a nicer way of putting your response. Or do I need to search to see if 12 other people have already recommended that?
In Water Log Page , Through "Quick Add for Today" we can log (250, 500 , 750 ml ) of Water Intake.
In case, the size of Bottle I use is not in the listed measures then the user has to take some time convert each time and log the water Intake.
This Idea is to make this Bottle Size Customisable ( i.e. 400ml , 800 ml , 2000 ml ) . So that people can have their own bottle sizes for Quick logging of Water Intake.
I would really like a water drunk menu on my charge 2 so that I can have maybe three values of water drunk to cycle through and select. This would then sync with the Fitbit app.
How it could work:
Cycle through the menus using the button
Go to the water menu by long holding
Tap on fitbit to cycle through the values of water you have set in the app
YES, I agree! It'd be great if the options to log water were customizable, or if there could be more of them or something. Most of my water bottles are 20 oz, but the quick add feature only has 8, 16, and 24. 😕
I would love to be able to customize mine as well. I use a 32 oz bottle typically, but there are times that I am at a function and they have 20 oz bottles or 16.9 oz bottles. I would love to set my 3 quick adds to 16.9, 20 and 32 as those are what I typically use.
Yes I would find this very helpful, as would most people I guess, as the whole world does not have the same sized drinking vessels! Please add this feature!!!
With the rise in popularity of vacuum insulated cups in set sizes (16, 20, 30 oz, etc), it would be so nice to be able to adjust the quick add values to match the purchased cups volume. It would make the Fitbit “system” adjust to the user, not the other way around. I can’t imagine this would be a difficult fix to program into the app either. What do you say Fitbit? Can we have this feature? Please? 🙂
Fitbit, I know this topic has been brought up for years, with no action...and it appears that the request is simply being ignored. It is my understanding that your market share is slipping, so it may be wise to listen to your customers. That said; could you PLEASE update the app to allow user defined water “quick add” quantities? Not everyone uses the same size cups, so it makes it cumbersome to log water consumption. Simply adding a way to allow users to define their cup/bottle size, would make the app SO much more user friendly. (Heck, you could go one step further and partner up with Yeti, Rtic, Hydroflask, etc. and cross promote each other’s products. The users would win, the partnered cup manufacturer(s) would win, and Fitbit would win.) This is an easy fix; truly a no-brainer to implement. Can you PLEASE add this feature ASAP?
Fitbit has been asked to do this for years now. They don't monitor nor do they respond. For this reason and the very poor customer "no service", I sold my Fitbit and bought Garmin. I would give Fitbit zero stars if I could, for a horrible product and no support. Several of my friends have done the same thing...
Hi @SunsetRunner and commenters, thanks for sharing this suggestion. Whilst there are no plans to release this feature on the Fitbit mobile app, this Feature Suggestion has been developed by a third party developer, and can be downloaded from the Fitbit App Gallery available on Fitbit Smartwatches. Now you can add customizable water amounts directly onto your Fitbit Ionic. You’ll find it by selecting your connected Smartwatch (such as Fitbit Ionic) in the Fitbit app, then choosing the ‘Apps’ tile and toggling to ‘All Apps’ at the top of the screen. You can then explore third party apps by category and choose your favorite of the relevant options available.
Please note that if you have feedback or a suggestion for the third party app, you can contact the developer directly (if they have shared their contact details publicly). Open their app in the Fitbit App Gallery and you’ll find their contact details under ‘app details’ or ‘clock face details’. Thanks.
Well that's just a load of rubbish!! People have been asking for this for so long yet Fitbit just ignore it and don't develop the app. You are basically ignoring the majority of people who have other Fitbit products instead of the Ionic where the Ionic is only a small part of the range! Sort this out Fitbit or I will be looking elsewhere and I'm sure others will be too!
Hi guys. I will add this feature inside my Fitbit Ionic watch app to adjust the water volume of the buttons. It may not be the main app, but I hope this helps. Thanks!
Hi @Kringusa do you mean Charge 2? This device is still being supported by Fitbit but is not a smartwatch, so does not have access to the Fitbit App Gallery like Fitbit Ionic does.
Are you suggesting that we all go and get an Iconic, because nothing else is going to get any sort of updates that people have been asking for for over three years now? Because if I'm going to go out and look for another watch just to get the most simple of features, it won't be a fitbit I'm looking at.
I totally agree with Traici. This is getting ridiculous that a simple update isn't happening and you (Fitbit) are suggesting it will be only on the Iconic. I as well will be looking at other products if you are ignoring the rest of the Fitbit range when it comes to updates etc. And again, if you are suggesting people have to get the Iconic watch to reveice any updates or future development, I will certainly get a smart watch which would be far superior to the Fitbit and do a lot more! It's pathetic and crap customer service!
I am not with Fitbit. I do not work for Fitbit. I am just an independent developer that is making apps for the Ionic Watch. I do apologize if it sounded I was suggesting to forget the rest of the other fitbit devices. As I was developing apps for the Ionic I can tell you that the other devices do not have the power or capability to add apps like the Ionic and future devices they release with App capability. It is also probable that they wanted to keep the functionality of the quantities in the quick select on the main app simple. But you can go into the app, and manually add an amount. Unfortuantly, I do not have any more suggestions at this time. Thank you.
It makes sense to keep the functionality of the quantities in the quick select simple in the main app. That said, I can think of two easy solutions that fitbit could apply:
First and best would be to make the amounts editable. It makes a lot of sense to use a configurable variable for these amounts (vs. hardcode it) and then to have that variable set to some default values, but allow users to modify that defaults. This is well within to scope of what the app already does. For example, the app is constantly collecting and updating things like this like the "previously chosen food" options. It would be very easy to make these water amounts editable.
Second, if the minimal work of making the amounts editable is out of scope, then I wish they would at least make the values not all be multiples of 8: 8x1, 8x2, 8x3. If the values were something like 4,6,10 or 2,8,12 it would make it very easy to quickly add the values up to the desired amount such as a 12 ounce can of water. Requiring people manually type the value in for a 12 ounce can makes for extra clicks that could be easily avoided.
No, it's great you make apps for Fitbit. I think we all feel a bit as though Fitbit don't listen to our suggestions on the forums made for that apart from if it's on ionic/ possibly blaze.
I think that charge 2 has the capability of doing this and it's more that they don't listen and actually develop any of these things. Even down to a reasonably big and old thread for keeping the Fitbit flight game on all the time. How hard would that be for one person to make that appear in the menu all the time? Yet they don't do it.
Awesome you make apps though, don't think anyone is angry at you 🙂
Such a great idea. I’m a tea drinker and get my hot water from my K-Cup machine. 12 oz is a common setting on these machines. I have to type 12 every time I use the machine. Being able to add a button for this would be great.
