What happened to "Canada" as being pending on this list of countries for the ECG app? Now it has been totally removed. Are there still plans to bring the ECG app to Canada (& if yes, when)?
I bought my Fitbit since last week. I tried to use the ECG and could not find the app. I called Fitbit and the person look for almost 20 minutes before they told me that this option is not available in Canada. She seemed as surprised as I was.
Hey Fitbit, the if the sense does not have ecg app in Canada, then there's no point in purchasing it as it's almost the same as versa 3 which is about $130 cheaper. Why would anyone buy it? Just withdraw the Sense from Canadian Market!
The fact that this thread is two months old, is full of complaints but contains zero support is telling. I am in the market for a smartwatch but customer support is important and I am not seeing any sort of customer support here. I'm not investing in your brand if this is how you treat your customers. Some people in here have dropped a lot of money on your watch and deserve some common courtesy, so maybe tell them something... Anything about the status of your watch's most appealing feature that you're marketing but not providing?
Oops! I bought a Sense yesterday but someone told me it doesn't have ECG - I guess I'll be returning it in it's box - good news for Fitbit (not that anyone from Fitbit seems to be reading comments) they can re-sell it easily because I won't have opened it. What a pain 😞
I'm so disappointed! My husband bought me the Sense for Christmas as I was wanting to stay with Fitbit even though the Apple Watch has this feature in Canada. Why doesn't Fitbit have the ECG feature for Canada? Please advise when we will get this.
Hey folks, just got a sense for xmas to upgrade from my versa 1 and was wondering after logging out of the Fitbit app and logging back in w vpn enabled to USA, where to find the ECG app. It's not listed on my apps (like on the installation tutorial YouTube link provided by Mark) and isn't searchable in any other way. My app is now set to be in USA as well. Any help is appreciated! Thanks.
Apple has deep pockets and doesn't mind paying all the regulatory fees. I don't know if Fitbit wants to go through all that for a relatively small market.
I know my comment will be removed. I did almost everything to make it work but eventually, I bought an Apple phone and watch. Fitbit & Samsung has the same issue and they don't care about the Canadian market.
Yeah your attempts to assist are appreciated Mark, but that video shows someone who can see the ECG app in "my apps" from the outset. Her steps are incredibly easy to follow , but unfortunately begin with a false premise that we the user will see the ECG app in "my apps" page. Not the case for me and others having the same issue Not with country set to USA, and after logging out of app, turning on vpn to USA , logging back in and following the video. No dice. Might be that my particular vpn doesn't trick Fitbit well enough. Cheers on the attempts to help.
Yes. Exactly this. Thanks anyway for trying to help. I am pretty tech savvy and know how to follow instructions. I watched the video several times in case I missed something but since I can't see the app like she does the video is irrelevant. The main issue for me is even with VPN and other means I have tried to change my location I don't see the ecg app at all to install or update. Will have to decide if it's worth the extra cost for only a few differences from Versa or if I will return it. Too bad fitbit isn't being transparent about what the hold up is in Canada.
I also had to head to the Discover section of the Fitbit app first, and go through a couple of disclaimers, and get a crash course in the different readings before I could begin.
I don't know why people are having so much trouble with this little workaround. It works for most people.
Thanks, Tanya. I got it working by deleting the app, switching to Seattle on the desktop website (doing so on the mobile app itself seemed not to be enough) then re-installing the app with vpn on. It then prompted me to allow location services on the app. I think having that prompt helped getting it to work as well. Ecg then showed up in my apps and I got things going.
For those with a screen protector on their sense, I had to take it off as you need to touch the metal w your thumb and index finger during the test, and the plastic surrounding my watch face and corners prohibited that.
I’d also like to see this feature. I’m in Canada. The only reason I hadn’t gone with a new Apple Watch to replace my V3 A.W. was that I was pretty certain that Fitbit had the ECG option.
