Edit Time of Daily Reset of Stats / Add Nightshift

Hi, It would be great if users could change the daily reset of stats to a different hour. We night owls who go sleep late after midnight now have to calculate the differences in our heads and that's not ideal. Thanks!

Wndrjelly01,

can you link the other ones you voted up please? It's a needle in a haystack situation over there.

Thanks!

I normally wake up at around 5 in the afternoon work all night at a casino and don't get to bed until about 8.30 in the morning it's so annoying that there is not a night shift mode or somewhere where we can manually input the start and finish of our days I hope this can be resolved quickly as it's putting me of my fitbit

thanks

Okay so I work two jobs, and one of them I get off around 12:30-1 am. Because of that, my steps and calories are always really weird in fitbit since my days restart at midnight. It would be really helpful to me and I'm sure other night owls if we were able to choose what time our fitbit reset so our days don't look so weird. I know this probably wouldn't be the easiest thing to incorporate, I just think it would make the use of the app much more convinent.

Thanks!

Please, please, please look into this. Many of us night shifters would be grateful!!  It just make sense to be able to set you own hours for data collection.

I am new to Fitbit. In searching for solutions to what I'll call night shift problems, I've found countless people with the same problem. The requests go back years!

Lets face it, our bodies are not designed to work nights. We night shifters have to work very hard to stay "fit." We need to be able to track our sleep, activity, and food on our actual schedules!

In the US alone, more that 3 million work night shift. Step it up Fitbit.

This simple update really would help a lot of us out. Night shifters and swing shifts too. Personally I had days that ended at 4am for quite a while and it can be slightly disorienting to have everything switched during the middle of the day/shift. It would be nice if we were allowed to set which hours to start out or days. With the default being at midnight for convenience.

Just got a Alta hr and was so excited. Now it seems pointless since I work third shift.  I guess I didn't research this very well.  I am thinking about returning it since changing the time zone makes the watch portion unusable for me.   No love for alternative shifts.

Has this been resolved yet? I'd love to have my day reset later! Midnight is waaaaaaay too early!

Dear Fitbit team,

Do y'all ever get tired of copying and pasting the SAME RESPONSE??? I mean.....It's the same response you emailed me several times and I've seen it on multiple post concerning night shift issues. Do better, actually fix the issue and or write a genuine response.

I live in the east coast time zone and set my Fitbit to mountain time to keep my steps in one day but now that I have upgraded   My Fitbit with a watch feature I have to do math whenever I look at the time, having the option to choose when my day started would be very helpful.

So many years, hundreds of fit bit users have had their daily count split into two different days. All they have to do is let us choose the reset time. I'd have mine reset in the morning around 8am. So It would continue to count my steps if I'm active after midnight.

As a kludge I've set my timezone to Hawaii. I live in California. This makes the Midnight reset happen at 3am my time. It messes up the sleep goals and the time charts.

Please FitBit! Selectable reset time.

Although I love my Fitbit I'm going to have to knock a couple of stars off of my Amazon review.

Yet another night shift worker hoping that start of day changing is possible.  I finally bought a fit bit for the first time this week and I'm seriously considering returning it if this isn't addressed.

This idea was submitted almost 2 years ago and not implemented yet? Why not? There are a lot of people who are on night shift schedules including myself now and this seems like a no brainer

Another person who wants this. Switching the time zone screws up the watch for those of us on a 24 hour clock (police dispatch)

I couldn't agree more!!!!

I've been working 12 hour night shifts for 30 years, and I wouldn't think changing your 12 hour clock setting would be hard. People work all kinds of shifts. We don't work banking hours. Your telling me to set it to Australia time?? Really?? Please update or fix this. I would really appreciate it.

Yes! I bought my fitbit and received it today. I was looking through settings and realized they didn't have settings available for night shift workers. I would really like that feature so that my fitbit is more accurate to my life style

I work in the restaurant industry and rack up 3-5k steps after midnight which get added to the next day. I would love a feature where I could modify the reset time.

It would be awesome to be able to choose what time the tracking day ends, to be able to edit it according to how one's schedule actually is, even if it's not "standard" so to avoid splitting up a day into two uneven pieces, so as to create a more realistic representation of one's daily activities.

Plus, as it stands, it feels like my tracker is judging me, and I don't need that kind of negativity in my life.... 😛

As someone who works the occasional graveyard shift this would be greatly appreciated! I count my calorie intake for whatever day it is when I go to bed on so if I could have all my steps from 7pm onward count for the next day too that would be awesome!

After all these years, I can't believe this is still an issue.  super frustrating!  not everyone works bankers hours.

It should have 3 options: 1) start the day in the regular way. 2) start the day manually. 3) start the day automatically after you wake up.

I wish we can see these features soon, but unfortunately it seems that they just ignoring all of us!.

Thanks.
