Edit Time of Daily Reset of Stats / Add Nightshift

Hi, It would be great if users could change the daily reset of stats to a different hour. We night owls who go sleep late after midnight now have to calculate the differences in our heads and that's not ideal. Thanks!

Naturally!  I thought that leaving my message here would help add to the demand for this feature.  Does anyone know how to contact any of the web developers directly?  Making this change should take only a few hours.

Thanks for suggesting the time zone change.  I believe it's a useful workaround, there are other areas in life that I have had success with asking people to check the time in Hong Kong to determine if I may be awake

I don't want time zone changes, I want the ability to change 'my day' when I start my work day which is 18:00 Not the usual midnight to midnight, since that way my 'days' overlap

I work night shift and it hard for me to log what I do to keep a full track on my stuff the night

I agree wholeheartedly!  It really should be a no-brainer to allow complete customization regarding active hours. I'm new to fitbit and I see this issue dates back to at least 2013...4 years?  Really?  Not a good start for me!  Also, my Charge 2 doesn't even allow me to set reminders using a "night owl" schedule.  I think it's time the fitness industry began to recognize that we all don't fit in the same, overly-simplistic box!

I have CFS/Fibro so my sleep cycles just spin around like a top.  I never know when I'm going to be awake, but I would like to be able to change the start of my day ESPECIALLY with the sedentary reminder.  Reminders like that are absolutely necessary when brain fog is dragging you down, but I can't get the step function to recognize any hours past midnight (even though you can already set the hours that way - it just won't accept them when you go to save it).

Can we have an update on this?  There is a link to another post, but I don't see any status on that one either.

I just bought a new charge 2 assuming this MAJOR flaw years ago would have been fixed. I can't believe the software engineers still can't figure out how to implement this. My new charge 2 is now useless to me so I have to return it.

Maybe someone here can start a social media thread on Facebook or Twitter....

Excellent idea! This issue is making me see red. I wish fitbit would either fix the issue or respond to the thread with why they can’t/won’t fix the issue.

I honestly think it’s a matter of them not listening to us over them not being able to do it. They don’t even respond to any of this

Well...I've had my Fitbit Charge 2 for about a weeknow. Love almost all the features of it...But the fact that I can't change my start if day is extremely frustrating! Between this issue and the heart rate tracker being inaccurate, I think returning it might be the best resolution afterall.

My only fix to this particular issue was to change my time zone by 12hrs. But this creates other issues.

I’d like to add to the large chorous of users requesting this feature. I recently changed shifts to work nights and was extremely disappointed to see my amounts reset in the middle of my ‘day’. Seems like it would be an easy fix...

I have looked all over the app for this same feature!   Now I know IT CANT BE FOUND!  Please allow users to edit the reset time.  I work until midnight and hate that it resets for the day before I even get home!

this has been an on going requests for years now. apparently it isn't a big
enough issue for fitbit to correct.

This idea only has a little over a thousand thumbs up.  It looks like the things that get considered generally have many more thumbs up on them @kj2121. 😞

There are multiple thread posts about this not just this thread

It would be ideal if a new day was started when the tracker detects you being asleep or when it detects you waking up, I think that would be most accurate. However it would have to not account for naps and perhaps u would need to just confirm whether you’d like to start a new day now?

I suggest having an overnight feature made for night shift employees like myself as I believe a large portion of us are having the same difficulties I will list next (EMS/fast food workers/hospital employees/fire/police/etc.). My "day" typically starts around 4/5pm and goes until closer to 7am. The issue I find not having an overnight feature includes the following:

My steps reset in the middle of my most active time

My reminders to move don't allow an overnight feature so it is set for only the last few hours of my day (Otherwise it wants to include time in which I am sleeping)

I feel an overnight feature should be a setting in which you can turn it on or off (that way when I'm on vacation or have days off and behave like normal people I can let it go back to normal). This feature should allow you to pick when you normally wake and go to bed as well.

Great suggestion.  I am just going back on graves with 12hr shifts.  Got a new device and am trying to set it up.  This doesn't seem like such a hard fix, I hope they take the suggestion.  So many shift workers use trackers and our activity is so important to our health.

As i work night shifts i would be helpful if i could set up my watch around my schedule.

I agree, I was having this issue trying to set my reminders to start at 6pm. I was informed that you cannot have it interfere with the reset being at midnight, which is also in the middle of my day. It would be nice for it to accommodate for all schedules. I hope this suggestion gets some more attention. Being able to turn it on and off is a great idea too!

New user here and the only thing I wish the Fitbit had was the option to chose the days start time! I work nights and it is difficult to accurately track my workouts
