Evening Snack Food log designation

As of today "Anytime" was removed as a food log time designation. It appears I wasn't alone using it to record my evening snack items. Its removal means that my food log for dinner is now inaccurate. 5 time desginations aren't enough for a diabetic (3 meals, 3 snacks) and for most people watching their nutrition, evening snacking is a dangerous habit.

I can't always force my 6-7 small meals into the remaining 5 options. "Anytime" at least gave me more flexibility. Would it be too much to ask for both an "Evening snack" and "Anytime" for things that don't fit in any category (beverages throughout the day, for instance).

Elsewhere I read that it was removed to match the mobile app, which I don't use, but some users have said the mobile app does/did have it, so that doesn't make sense. Why remove features people use? Removing functionality is not the way to improve a product's usability.

For those of us that follow specific six meal plans, either "Anytime" or "Evening Snack" would work for me. It might even be better to allow folks to add meal times and name them themselves.

I vote at least adding back the sixth category, whatever you name it.

As a matter of interest that category still exists, and always has, on my iPhone app.

Please restore "anytime" or add "evening snack."

Agree that "anytime" was the best option. "Evening snack" is a suitable alternative. Regardless, something has to be added to account for food intake after dinner. It's the critical time when empty calories are consumed and diets are killed. I've lost 30 pounds since I got my Fitbit on Christmas Day. Tracking those late night calories helped tighten up my eating plan and was critical to my success.

Yeah, I want the "anytime" option back, like everyone else. It makes no sense whatsoever to omit that option. I always have something to eat after dinner, even if it is just a couple of cookies or ice cream. I am so annoyed right now. I don't understand why the "anytime" option wasn't just added to the mobile app instead of taking it away from the pc version. I've only had it for less than a month, but I'm really thinking about getting a refund for my Flex.

Please add Evening snack or bring back anytime, we all rely on it!

I prefer "anytime".  If not possible, then please add an "evening snack" option.

Obviously bunches of people want a sixth break to log food so maybe it would make more sense to ADD it to the mobile app?

Why can't we have both?  Anytime and Evening Snack.  Smiley Happy

I agree!  We need MORE choices, not less!  Thanks!

I am not interested in anything that forces me to categorize my meals into traditionally held beliefs that people wake up in the morning and eat a meal called breakfast, eat a noon meal called lunch, and an evening meal called dinner, and any eating outside of those are called snacks, then they go to bed at night and sleep, and any sleep outside of that night time block is called a nap.

That's not how I live my life. I sleep when I am tired and eat when I am hungry, with no regards for what time the clock says or anybody's idea of what particular kind of food I am supposed to eat at some particular block of time on a clock.

I could stay away for 12 hours, sleep for 4, then wake up and eat spaghetti. And this kind of meal might appear twice in a 24 hour block. Is that 2 instances of spaghetti for breakfast in the same day?

"Anytime" worked for me, as that was where I recorded all of my meals, because that is what made the most sense for how I live my life.

Yup, your attempts to alienate me by pigeon holing me into your notion of how you think I should live my life will result in me logging everything I eat as "Breakfast" from now on.

Thank you for making me seem a whole lot weirder than I actually am. Go ahead, add an "Evening snack" option. It won't make me any happier, it won't make me seem any less weird, and it won't solve the problem you created by attempting to pigeon hole people's habits into categories based on your idea of how you think they should live their lives.

Please bring back the "Anytime" option ASAP. It's annoying to have to squeeze all meals into the 5 slots.

I find removing it without an anouncment to be poor customer service.

I've requested other features, likek being about to copy a meal from one day to the next, but never got a response. So I'm doubtful you'll put the "Anytime" back.

Calorie King is what I used to use. I'm thinking of going back.

For one who is practicing the Habits of Health, eating a number of smaller meals is essential along with various snacks on a daily basis. The current 5 categories are not sufficient to adequately separate and log these. I currently still have the 'Anytime' category on my mobile (Galaxy S3). When I log a snack, etc, I still have the 'Anytime' category available and that entry is then bluetoothed up to my desktop and appears, though I don't have this category as an option anymore on my desktop.Until this controversy is resolved I will not download any updates as I don't want to have one wipe out my 'Anytime' category on my mobile.

I vote for the return of 'Anytime' category.

Please bring back Anytime and/or add Evening Snack.  Thanks!

As you can see, a good number of us use 6 meal categories.  Eating 6 light meals/day is a healthy and medically approved option.  I really don't care what you end up calling it, Anytime or Evening Snack, just bring back the 6th meal option and do it sooner than later.

Please bring back the "Anytime" option. Anytime is still available on the Galaxy S4 app.

An "evening snack" option is certainly sensible, but it's not a replacement for the "anytime" category. Among other things, "anytime" is the only category for soda, beer, juice, whatever--calories that are literally consumed at "anytime" throughout the day.

Ideally, we'd be able to choose on our profile settings what meal categories we want to see, and personalize the names to suit our individual needs. Failing that, just removing the useful categories that do exist is just... bizarre.

Please put back the Anytime option for logging food.this option is very important to me, as I use it to log the snack I eat before bedtime, as well as various "noshes" throughout the day.

THIS x 1000.

I'm starting to wonder if Fitbit has some alternative plan, here. Something like a time selection tool rather than categorized meals. But, if that were the case, they'd let users know a change is coming, and then make the change system-wide and replace the whole shebang at once. So I don't think that's it, even though it could arguably be considered an 'improvement'. (More control, but more clicks, too.)

I also use the anytime function because I eat 6 times a day.  Removal of the option is making me reconsider what is the best application to use.  This new change does not fit my needs anymore.

I have to keep track of everything I eat and I used the anytime function quite a bit.  Does this mean that my logging for anytime as disappeared?  Will my historical calorie counts be off?  Please bring it back, it seems that FITBIT is not considering the risk they are putting people at especially when they are logging for medical reasons.

whew, glad I'm not the only one missing the Anytime logging category.  As with others, I used this area to record evening snacks and then also used the comments area there (since it was the last category) to journal any misteps taken during the course of the day.  Please either reinstate the category or add in another snacks category.  Better yet, why not see if all categories could be custimized per user as they are on some other nutrition tracking websites.

I like the "anytime" option for logging my beer and other beverages that I drink outside of meal times.

An After Dinner Snack needs to be put in to replace your anytime, so that food taken at this time can be logged properly this is a must for Diabetics.
