Please add support for Android Wear devices to the Android Fitbit app like you did for the iPhone 5S and HTC One M8. 🙂 The current Android Wear devices (LG G Watch & Samsung Gear Live) all include step counters.
I will be switching to Android Wear since that's what will be used on my Moto 360 Sport. I would love to keep my data synced to Fitbit and use my new watch. Please get this added!
I use the SAMSUNG GEAR S and i hope you guys get around adding this device also. My whole family has fitbits and i want to get in on their activities on your app. The only reason i like the gear s over the fitbit line is because i can make and take calls and texts, huge bonus!
+1 I have a Fitbit device and an Android Wear watch. I have stopped using my Fitbit but would love to continue using the Fitbit community features and app. Please allow the app to connect to Android Wear devices.
Hiya, I had a fitbit charge in December 14 and I used it everyday for a year. I loved the fitbit app, but I wanted a wrist device that would enable me to read and reply to text messages and emails. So in December 15 I bought an LG Urbane SmartWatch. The watch is great, but I really miss the fitbit app! Android doesn't seem to record steps as accurately, I was regularly achieving 10K of steps a day on my fitbit (4 to 5 days a week). I haven't changed my daily routine, but I haven't hit 10K once on my SmartWatch, it's usually around 7k. I also miss the stairs / number of floors climbed counter too. I would happily pay to use the fitbit app on my android wear watch, or if fitbit release an Android fitbit SmartWatch I'd definitely be interested 🙂 x
Buy an android wear device which supports mobile track would be 1 less reason to buy Fitbit's own trackers.
A better idea would be for Fitbit to create their own android wear/fitbit tracker or provide notifications via Fitbit Blaze/surge. If they provided notifications we wouldn't have to look else where.
I would pay $ for a FitBit app that tracks my steps from my Moto360 Sport and adds them to my FitBit account. My FitBit stopped holding a charge several months ago and I now use my Moto for step tracking. Would love to be able to tap into the FitBit community again so that I can participate in challenges with my friends.
I realize that FitBit is concerned about losing competive edge by acknowledging other wearables in the industry, but in my opinion, FitBit's community is their advantage, not the devices.
I will be moving away from Fitbit as soon as a smartwatch I want comes out. Due to the lack of compatability with other hardware. Fitbit OS is far too limited, with the advent of new technologies and far more powerful watch devices we really should have the ability to sync non-fitbit steps to fitbit. I don't mind paying a small fee or upgrade etc to allow this.
Hopefully if this changes Ill find out and will be willing to come back to Fitbit.
I keep loosing my tiny Fitbit and my wife has also. After having them go through the washing machine or having it fall off my pants, I gave up my desire to buy a new Fitbit. Consequently, I now only use my Samsung Gear S2 which gives me what I need. The Fitbit company will lose me as a premium subscriber if they don't wake up to keeping people like me. Net/net I like the service and software of Fitbit, but will not buy another Fitbit device.
I just want to see my FitBit step count on a Android Wear watch face for my Moto 360. I think I can understand that FitBit Inc would not be to excited to have you use a non-FitBit device as a pedometer, I'm not asking for that.
I used to have several FitBit Trackers and my girlfriend and brother are also using Fitbit devices. Now I upgraded to a Moto 360 sport but what I am missing is that I can use the Moto Sport as a TRacker for the Fitbit app. I would like to compare myself to others and take part in competitions.
I can see the point why not to open up the app for other trackes because you don't want to canibalize your business.
But since there is no real competition between Android Wear and Fitbit (yes, there is the Blaze, but that is not a real smartwatch), why not support devices like Android Smartwatches and even the Apple watch?
I mean I even can't use my Nexus 6P as a tracker but an iPhone 6 is supported.
I echo PhantomWalkers comment - just want to see my FitBit app info (step count would be a start) on an Android Wear watch face. I understand why FitBit would not want to promote use of a non-FitBit device as a step counter.
I would love to see FitBit make an official Android Wear watch. This way, I can get the hardware and tracking algarithym that FitBit does so well, and still get all the other smartwatch features that Android Wear offers (such as receiving and sending text messages, emails, searches, timers, etc). The Blaze is a good try, but no even close to a smartwatch. I would love to see the features of Android Wear supported in the watch and still have all the exceptional FitBit fitness tracking. And Android Wear works with Android and iPhones.
I would love to see FitBit add an app to Android Wear so that you can control (start, stop and see progress) of a Track Exercise (such as Run/Walk/Hike) you use your phone FitBit app for.
I have the Charge HR and like to use the FitBit app on my phone to track my walks using GPS, but it is annoying to pull out my phone to start, stop or see progress during a walk or run.
Would be nice if I could start a Run/Walk/Hike on the FitBit app through my Android Wear watch and that app see progress as you move. I know other apps allow this such as MapMyFitness, RunKeeper, and many others.
I paid the Firbit annual fee for many years and have just replaced my Firbit with a Gear S2 and am very happy. I also went to MyFitnessPal premium spftware. I waited for two years before changing. If Fitbit doesn't realize the market is passing them by, they will be a point in history where technologhy passes them buy and are just vaporized by forward thing compitition.
I had a flex, then a surge, and just today got a Huawei SmartWatch. I have friends and family that I do fitbit challenges with and want to keep that going, but I can't wear 2 watches at once. I would love to be able to actively sync my google fit / watch steps to fitbit.
I can see this being done 2 ways. Either Fitbit allows us to live import steps from other step counters (less likely IMO), or better yet, make an android wear app that takes the steps from the watches accelorometer.
If they don't do one of these, fitbit will be dead within 5 years. Their watches are way behind the curve when it comes to almost everything. The only thing I will miss, functionality wise, is the continuous heart rate.
I know you are competing in the marketplace with some of the other smart watches out there such as the apple watch and Samsung gear s2. I would love to have the fitbit app support to use with a galaxy gear. I love your app and the step competition is the best out there. In addition to owning the scale too. But I would now like more features and am leaning towards something like the gear s2. There is currently no syncing with s health or with those but I would be willing to pay for a fitbit app for these devices that would allow me to since my step totals with my fitbit account. Don't know if this is a plan for the future or not but I have a lot of competing fitbit users that want to move to a different device but still keep up with fitbit syncing.
I believe fitbit succeeds in two areas (1) the affordable fitness watch and (2) their community based app. Integration with the Fitbit Aria is also an excellent feature. What is missing is an industry leading premium andoird wear watch like the Moto 360 or Huawei Watch. It may not be commercially reasonable to expect fitbit to compete with these large manufacturers - especially as the smart watch industry develops further. Therefore to ensure fitbits lead within the fitness industry, I would recommend they continue with the affordable tracker products (for those not wanting to pay for premium smart watches), but develop the fitbit app to become a paid-for product which premium smart watches can Integrate into. Sometimes you have to stick to your core business, and at the moment premium watches are not fitbits core business.
