Fitbit Ace with GPS Tracker

I have been Fitbit members for a few years now and we love it! We are highly considering getting a couple Fitbit Ace’s for our kids. The only thing that would make them better would be a hidden GPS tracker, so we could track their location! It’s a scary world out there and this feature would give parents the sense of reassuring.

Both my husband and I are loyal Fitbit wearers - we are probably on our 3rd one each.

We want to get the Ace for our son, but we need GPS in whatever we get him.

location / GPS is a safety issue... and that has to take priority over activity/contests so if the Ace 2 doesn't have GPS we will need to get a different device. You will gain / lose customers based on implementation of this feature!

Also- keep in mind that many parents want to buy a GPS watch without a phone or games... and there is only one 'ok' product on the market that meets this. You have the opportunity to own that market share.

Please include GPS!!

Simply adding a GPS unit to the Ace will not be enough, it would also need a cellular internet connection so that Fitbit would be able to see the chips location in real time and be able to pass this on to the parent.

This will require more than just a built in GPS but also a Cellular connection.

@Rich_Laue    Thanks for commenting so everyone understand!!

YES - I do understand that the GPS will require a Cellular connection. I am very willing to pay the $5-10 per month that Verizon charges to know where my kid is!!

This year I bought my first fitbit and I totally love it. I would buy one for my son as well if it would only have a GPS Tracker. Two watches on one kid look a little bit silly. So PLEASE add this feature in (the near 🙂 future.

This would need to be  in a future device,  since currently no Fitbit has direct cellular connection.

Maybe an Ace 3?

As a parent I’d love to have the tracking ability with my kids FitBit Ace. Gizmo and a few models that are in the EU market are the only ones that have this feature. I think this would be a HUGE selling point to parents!!

We've been eyeing the Fitbit Ace 2 since it was announced, largely because we are a swim family and the swimproof activity tracker would be a game changer for our kiddos.  But I am really disappointed that GPS tracking wasn't included in this model. Fitbit has a unique opportunity to allow kids to have a watch that they can wear for activity purposes that will also allow parents and guardians the ability to know that their kiddos are where they are supposed to be, etc. I've been debating buying a watch with this feature, but have held off because there isn't one that is swimproof, which is necessary for us as well. At this time, I am going to have to choose between an activity tracker or a GPS tracker and I'm not sure which way we will go.  But I would love it if we could get something that would satisfy both needs with one watch.

Spoiler
KIDS Fitbit with GPS tracking ability

Parents can purchase a SIM card from your Internet provider for around $10/mo. We will buy this and recommend it to everyone we know!

This allows for safety - a way for parents to track their child without giving them a cell phone or 'game watch'.

I bought to my kid a fitbit Ace 2, I check his data every day. I feel Ace 2 missing one service ,live Location is the most important thing for the parents. I think if there are possible to track my kid and i can find his location when i need, this service will incarege the more parents to buy this divice for their children. " track your kids where is they in any time"

To whomever, it may concern,

My wife and I have been Fitbit members for years and we would like to have our kids start to use them. One feature we would like to have on future kid's Fitbits is the ability to track their location. Thank you for your time and have a great day.

I would like to be able to open the Fitbit app to a map to see where my children currently are. This would be extremely useful for ensuring their safety, or knowing they are where they are supposed to be. Alternatively it could be used for elderly family members with dementia or alzheimers.

Great idea kids I sent my kid to the shop once and he didn’t come back for ages! Turns out he was in the playpark with his mates having a kick about!
