Friends Daily/Weekly Step Count on App and graph

I think a welcomed addition to the friends profile across all apps would be the ability to see a friend's daily step count.  This would be useful when "chasing" a friend down.  Smiley Happy

Other user data such as, distance, active minutes, pictures and other information that person has set to share with friends would be nice as well.

Idealy the user would be able to slide through previous days like you can on your personal dashboard view

I agree with everyone else!

Definitely would like to see friends' daily step count from the app. Jawbone's app does it.

This idea is exactly what I'm looking for. Even if it's a settings option. I can see people getting discouraged easily because it seems like they are too far behind to catch up when they first start.

I agree! My sister and I both purchased the fitbit so we could encourage and challenge each other. Would be so much better to see daily totals.

I can see that other companies shows more information in the app about friends progress.

In my opinion it should be a default (or not?) feature to see our friends daily progress on steps, etc. Not only 7-days. Now we have to go to Dashboard to see the daily steps on our friends.

This feature combined with notifications when friends starts to work out, running, passing 5k or 10k steps, would be very social and motivating.

Of course everything can be turned on and off in the user settings.

I would like to be able to see my friends daily steps on my app as well as the 7 day total steps. Would be a nice function.

I have a new Fitbit zip,and recently added a friend but it only gives me her 7 day steps, not her daily steps when looking from ipad/phone. We would both like to compare how we are doing as the day progresses from our mobile apps. Pacer app used to do this and it helps to spur each other on. Could you add this feature please

I wish you could see your friends' daily step progress (ie: their progress they made since they woke up) in addition to their weekly step count.

Just do a daily challenge and you can see them.  But either way you can only see the actual number of steps when they sync it.

I don't want to always have to do a daily challenge with every one of my
Fitbit friends. I wish there was a way to just see where everyone was at
for that day, in addition to their seven day total.

I just got my Fitbit and the first thing I noticed is that I have to go to the internet site to see my friends daily steps.  I'm cool with going to Fitbit.com to get more detail on my friends.  But, yes, I agree, I would prefer to see my friends "daily" steps on the app when you are trying to motivate/challenge your friends.

You would think that this has already been done! I need to be able to see daily steps!! It would definitely motivate more people and get people off the couch during those commercials! Lol

Agreed. We need to see the currently daily step count of friends, especially if we're in competition with each other. If I see they are ahead of me at noon I can take steps to win before the day is over.

...I agree!  It could help motivate people on a daily basis. Instead of having to do a daily show down.

I really miss this feature. Having used UP24 for over a year where I could always check my husband's stats on the app, I assumed this was available on Fitbit too. So I was rather disappointed to see it was only available on the computer. It would be lovely to get an up to date step count from friends- as soon as they sync Fitbit, it should show on my app. Otherwise, very happy and glad I changed over to Fitbit!

I absolutely agree. Especially with the other friend data like sleep!

I miss this feature from my Jawbone UP24. The Fitbit charge HR is a much better device, but I really miss my UP newsfeed where I could see friends progress during the day. I actually felt a kind of withdrawal and sadness after the switch. I'm so happy a moderator saw this feature request. I've commented on several others that are similar, but they have not been reviewed by a moderator yet and don't have many votes yet. Maybe this one will get some attention.

I was wondering if this idea was still being consider and if there has been any progress on it.  I still find it hard to believe that daily friend step count was not a standard feature. It's been almost a year since the moderator has commented.  I think this is a necessary feature and give it my utmost support.  Thanks in advance.

Fitbit has known for some time that customers want this feature, but it's still not available.

I have reciently changed from jawbone to fitbit. There are a lot of features on fitbit that are better than jawbone, but there are one or two things that jawbone does better. One of them is the abilty to see friends stats and unfortunatly this maybe a deal breaker for me. Why can't I share my data with people if I want to?

This thread has been active since January 2014 and no word from Fitbit. They could tell us whether this is something they are likely to add in the near future or at least the reasons why they won't be adding it. To leave us wondering for 18 months is just bad customer relations.

I've decided to post on this every month in hopes of keeping this issue active. It's crazy that all the data is in there and Fitbit refuses to provide a format to share it. Jawbone could steal me back just with that feature if they had a decent device.

I really wish I could see the daily step count for my friends, not just an average or weekly count. I think it would be so much more competitive and accurate. I know everybody I have talked to with a Fitbit is disappointed in this also. Everything else about the Fitbit is awesome!!! Is there any hope for a change to this???? Please???!!!!!!
