Friends VS Feed Customizable Navigation

It appears many of us have zero or little interest in the new Community Feed, but a lot of interest in our Friends progress. As a result many find the need to now have to perform multiple taps every time the app is reopened to get to our Friends extremely annoying. Either please change the default to show Friends first (as it was previously) upon launching the app or provide the user with a setting option to allow us to choose which opens first.

In the mobile app, community section let us filter out our friends posts from groups. If we have joined several groups it is hard to find if our friends have posted anything. It would be nice to be able to switch between groups and friends, so would not miss their posts and could better support each other. Now need check each friend one by one or leave the groups, see the friends stuff and add the groups back. It is quite time consuming and not too effective.

This 'new' feature is extremely irritating. If I want a steam of spam from unknown users and companies, or pointless/trite lifestyle tips I would sign up to Facebook. Please could you disable it asap so I can simply keep up with actual friends.

Fitbit - please get off the everyone wants 'social media' bandwagon. There is a silent majority that hate it so please give us the option to turn it off.

This is the first fitbit item that has driven me to the community board, super annoying, please change it.

I know. I complained about this from the beginning and they haven’t done anything about it. Very annoying!

I echo everyone’s sentiments. The feature should either be removed in its entirety or moved to be the last tab. Very annoying.

I agree as well.

I really don’t want to see photographs of people I don’t know. I just want to see my friends / family list as they’re the people I’m interested in. (It would be like seeing everyone on Facebook! - not interested. I choose whom I’m interested in/ linked to!) Give us the option to just see friends without the feed or groups tabs by allowing us to choose our own settings. Don’t just foist it on us. PLEASE.

I’m finding the Community feed really annoying. Without multiple clicks I can’t see my friends data anymore. It would be better if the App would allow you to change the order of the tabs like on the home screen or if it remembered where you’d last been in the Community feed.

Glad and to see so many others are frustrated by this change. Hope Fitbit listens to the feedback.

I agree.  Please remove the Community feed and make Friends the default.

Could’nt agree more, I think the social feed is a horrible development. irritating that I have to find the friends tab and I’m puzzled why Fitbit even thinks we need another Facebook. the posts aren’t even relevant, they are memes and (most disturbingly) 12 yo girls posting selfies, that anyone can comment on; there’s a safeguarding issue there too, my 12 yo niece is on Fitbit and isn’t allowed a Facebook account for online safety reasons. Fitbit need to rethink that aspect.

As you rightly said if people do want it then at the very least default to friends tab and allow people the choice. To me, every terrible development just takes enthusiasm away from using the app, they (and other tech companies) need to stop the obsession with changes all the time.

FitBit is obviously paying no attention to these complaints--we're talking to ourselves. What can we do to compel some response from the company about our dislike of this feature??

It looks like this idea was suggested almost a year ago. Will it be actioned soon?

How many votes need to happen before Fitbit listens?  Most people do not want to be bothered to hunt down where you can place your complaints about this feature and the community tab is extremely annoying.  Adding this continued frustration along with the discontinuation of the ONE - well its time to move to another platform.  My friends and I are each other's motivation......sad that these complaints are falling on deaf ears.

Can you believe their customer service is so bad that they dont even respond to all these complaints with an explanation? It would be so easy for them to just make the Friends and Community tabs reverse in settings if that is what the user wants

There are over 88 comments here of folks to have taken their valuable time to express frustration.  Fitbit ought to respect our time since they are supposed to be about health, fitness and life balance (aka NOT having to sit in front of a computer to log complaints!)

If each comment represents 1000 others who did not take the time that is 8800 unhappy folks...and that is a low guesstimate.

Agreed! There should be an option to hide it completely on the app!  Obviously quite a few FitBit users have no desire to see what a bunch of strangers are up to.  While some may want to see it for motivational purposes, others don't.  We should be able to make that choice.

Many of your customers have been complaining in a separate thread for nearly a year about the new Community feature on the app whereby we're confronted with pics and comments from strangers and have to click over to Friends every time we go to this part of the app. Not everyone uses Fitbit as social media--we've been pleading with you to recognize that we're only interested in our actual friends, not strangers in Yoga poses or (worse) quasi-obscene photos of navel rings and the like. At least put the Friends tab first as the default and let your users who want yet another Facebook to be the ones to have to toggle over to the Feed tab. You can read our many complaints elsewhere on this site! PLEASE!

Another vote for putting "Friends" first.  If I could completely remove the "Feed" tab that would be even better.

Please don't let new "improvements" make existing features more difficult to access or at least make the new features optional.
