Heart rate zones alert feature

Many fitness enthusiasts and individuals of whom base their workouts on target heart rate zones would really appreciate a heart rate alert feature implemented into the new Fitbit Ionic as well -if possible ALL Fitbit watches. This feature would allow a Fitbit user to manually set their Fitbit watch to alert the user once their targeted maximum and minimum heart rate has been achieved while performing a workout. Â The watch would vibrate on the user's wrist alerting the user when their selected heart rate has been accomplished or met allowing the user to more cater their workouts to stay within a selected threshold. Â Implementing this feature will also serve well as a safety feature which can alert the user when their calculated heartrate is dangerously high or above the maximum threshold that they set enabling the user to adjust their workout accordingly. Â Some Fitbit users I can imagine and many other individuals have cardiovascular/heart related issues which prevent them engaging in a workout that is too intense therefore a heart rate alert feature implemented into the new Fitbit Ionic would make the watch more marketable to the present customer base, a broader audience of fitness enthusiasts, and desirable to a whole new market of individuals of whom have cardiovascular/heart issues and will really appreciate a heartrate alert feature implemented into their fitness/activity trackers. Overall, implementing this feature will likely increase popularity of the watch, increase revenue, and appeal to a wider range of individuals that are taking steps to improve their health through daily workouts but are limited to what they can do due to cardiovascular/heart concerns. Â Implementing this feature can likely be as simple as have software engineering add it to a software/firmware update which will allow it to perform identical to the silent/vibrating alarm feature already included in most Fitbit watches anyhow.

Above article prove how this HR alert can save lives... still not convinced?

Add this for Versa too! I would like it if you could notify me if my heart rate is dangerously high, higher than normal, lower than normal, dangerously low etc. kind of like what the Apple Watch does.

Please try to include a feature which can detect and alert if there is a sudden rise in the heart rate (except during workout sessions).

I agree totally!

So much likes and still not available!

Why?

That's a wish also in other communities for years!

Or is Fitbit a bad decision?

Hopefully not!

So let us know, when it is availabe this year 2018!

Thank you

Proposal: Similar to the ability to receive a vibration notification on the Alta HR when passing a certain step count, receiving a text message, or reminders to move, there should be an option to set the device to vibrate when a certain heart hate threshold is exceeded. If possible, have it limited to only notify when the Fitbit isn't detecting significant activity (maybe under a certain step count for an interval?).

Use case: I own an Alta HR and work at a desk job, but lately I've noticed at the end of the day when I'm syncing my data that at various points during work hours my heart rate has spiked into peak zone without me aware of it even happening at the time.  A simple buzz and message to warn me of passing a user-set threshold would help me pinpoint a possible root cause if stress-related and let me know that I should try to do some kind of activity to reduce my heart rate if possible.

4000 votes, but Fitbit is deaf. It's a nice watch, that is all that it is

Fitbit can't do that.

They can't either provide bugfix for a lot of problem.

Bad for us customer!

I've waited for 18 months for this feature to be added, it hasn't and as the HR monitor is sometimes wildly inaccurate I'm looking for a replacement from another manufacturer.

Please add a way to get alerts when we switch from one heart rate zone to another. Either via vibration or via Bluetooth as voice / sound whatever. And please @Fitbit do actively comment the feature requests so that we know if we are only wishing in vain  ....

I'm a secondary use case for this feature. I'm prone to sudden, 30 minute or so, random rage attacks. Since they happen so infrequently (every 8-24 months) and aren't usually triggered by any specific event, I don't always recognize when they're happening until I've already said totally nasty, mean things to whoever's trapped in the room with me. The Fitbit definitely catches the spike in heart rate, so it'd be nice for it to remind me to get the heck out of whatever meeting I'm in at work when it happens.

It'd probably be helpful for more standard panic-style attacks too.

I'm not reading 46 pages to check, but I'd really appreciate having this feature for tachycardia episodes rather than for sports use. That way I could catch dizzy spells before I'm starting to black out.

In regards to the Fitbit comment about third party apps providing this functionality: they are not allowed to run in the background. Please release this feature. It is #6 in the top feature requests. Hopefully it happens. Thank you.

I agree this is a great idea

You also need alerts to warn the user if their heart rate is increasing over 100 if they are at rest. That’s a sign of infection potentially or other problems and could save life’s. Also too slow a rate too.

This would be great for people with conditions like Chronic Fatigue Syndrome where many people manage their energy by not going over a particular heart rate level to avoid an energy crash that may cause them to be bedbound for a few days. Many people rely on their fitbit to manage their rest rather than activity in order to get more out if their life.

I use the Fitbit for trying to keep my activity within narrow uper and lower bounds each day to manage a health condition. If I go above my anaerobic threshold for too long I lose several days of my life recovering, so I have to constantly remember to check my Alta hr. I often forget and crash. High heart rate and activity alerts would be literally life changing for me.

Hi,

I have also missed this feature when I bought my first Fitbit which was Versa. But I was so happy to discover that you can develop your own apps. So I did just that, I have created an app called Vibrating HR Zone Tracker. It tracks HR changes and if your HR crosses the threshold of your custom zone you are informed by vibrations and changing screen color of the watch. There's a different vibration pattern for each zone (lower, target, higher), so it will be easy for you to recognize which threshold you have passed even without looking at your watch. But visual cues are also added for convenience - screen is blue if HR is in lower zone, red if in higher and black with green borders if in target.

You should be able to install it to your Versa or Ionic through this link or search for it in Fitbit app gallery.

In addition, we are seriously co suffering switching to an apple watch. Not because we are dissatisfied with fitbit per say but because we want an app for heart monitoring. The apple watch has an alarm that goes off to alert you if your heart is having issues. For me and my family, that is huge.

46 pages of people wanting a heart rate alarm - what does it take Fitbit? A royal decree??

Moderators, please consider that we're not able to use a third part app for this feature (and I do have one installed), because the main result would be to have alerts during the exercises, and fitbit Ionic do not allow using other apps during the exercise mode. I think that simply allowing to register a heart rate as a lap alert (as we have for kilometers, minutes and calories) would be able to solve the problem.

That is not my desired outcome. I want a feature that wakes me or my
husband or my children up in the night or alerts me walking down the street
or sitting at my desk or any other regular daily activity that my heart
rate is not appropriate for my activity i e my heart rate is too high for
my resting phase at night. If my heart rate is 200 beats per minute and I'm
sleeping I want to be alerted to the possibility that I may be having a
heart attack. Personally I think it's not that hard to look and see whether
or not you're at your target heart rate while exercising.. So maybe this
wasn't the correct place to post this suggestion.

@Lady_J_ Sorry, wrong feature then! I just wanted a feature to help me on my HIIT exercise and weight loss. Thanks for the notice, I just unvoted this one.
