Would love for this feature to be rolled out via a software update-- and soon. As someone sitting at a desk all day, I can set the manual alarms but they don't mean anything if I set them arbitrarily. This is a must have feature. I love everything my charge HR has, but this feature (that other-less accurate- trackers have) would make me even happier with my purchase, and keep me as a customer in the future.

This is one of the reasons I wanted to get a Fitbit, so I'm very interested in this feature too. I work at a desk and would love to be reminded about sitting too long because my heart rate drops too low or that I've been inactive for too long (outside of sleep). It'd be great to turn this feature on and off via the website. Thank you and looking forward to this addition.
Over 2500 votes. Over 900 comments. Isn't it time you add an idle alarm? Seems like a basic no-brainer feature that should have been developed a long time ago.
Like many, one of the main reasons for our family buying two Charges and one Surge was the inactivity reminder we were told they have. Not Fitbit's fault I suppose, but a more valuable feature for wellness than phone call reminders. Please add this in the next upgrade. It would be great if we didn't have to buy new ones, just add in software. Thank you....otherwise love the product. PS...setting hourly alarms isn't really a solution.
I bought a Fitbit Charge HR a few days ago and I am also disappointed because it has no idle alert. Since three years your customer are asking for an idle alert:( For me this looks like you are not interested in the wishes of your customers. I know other trackers have this and I am sure you are losing customers because of this. I really wish you would make an idle alert 🙂 that's really the only thing I miss.
Same story here. I have a desk job, so I sit at work and sometimes it seems that I just sit the entire day and don't get up if I don't think about it. Obviously that's unhealthy, so I'm trying to remember to get up every hour or so and walk for a few minutes.
Patiently waiting for any news on this feature. Only feedback we got is that Fitbit acknowledged the request. Two years later and no change in status. Really guys? How about taking your customer feedback a little more seriously..
As everyone else here, I would like an Idle Alert as well. I feel that within the app, it could be updated to include vibrate alarm when it hasn't counted any steps from you in a set amount of time, that we can adjust in the app (ex, every 45-60min of inactivity) AND within a time period (ex, 9am to 9pm) so it doesn't interfere with sleep.
Currently, as a work around, I'm using the max alarm settings (8) each hour as a personal reminder. It's not what I want though, as sometimes I'm already being active.
Yes Please!!!!! I am the worlds biggest fitbit fan. Love love love it. But I would LOOOOOVVVVEEE to have an inactivity alarm of some sort. Please please please.
