We (my Fitbit friends) would like to increase the challenge numbers to include more than 10 people. Our group includes way more than 10 who are active and want play
@MzMizzy it sounds like your treating challenges more like the Olympics rather than a fun incentive to get steps in.
This is why a stated above that I don't understand having to be in so many every week. Challenges are suppose to be a fun light way of encouraging more activity, their not to be something that needs a full time job to keep events organized.
Doesn't one challenge encourage movement? Or does one need to be in 5-10 challenges before a user decides to get of the couch.
In Mar 2017, I just got back on Fitbit after a 3 year hiatus. I coordinate several WorkWeek Hustle and Weekend Warrior challenges and have lost 15 lbs since then. In the last 2 weeks, when the participant level was increased to 20 people in my app, I was able to combine 2 groups into one view. It has been great and steps have increased overall with the greater sense of community, positive motivation, and more competition. We have had 2 Weekend Warrior and 2 WorkWeek Hustle challenges. In addition, I have participated in 2 weeks of Daily Challenges.
It seems Fitbit is going back to 10 participants. My challenge groups are very unhappy that I will have to break them up starting this weekend. I called Customer Care yesterday and created a ticket. They stated that folks called in stating that they did not have >10 people and did not like to see 1/2 empty screens, so Fitbit is dialing it back to 10 people. Fitbit should consider an option to add 10 or 20 people. In addition, Fitbit should consider automatically adjusting the screen/participant view to the # of participants. It is typcically not a good business practice to "offer something to your customers and then take it back". It does not create good will. I appreciate your consideration in this matter. Thank you.
Here is the link to the Challenges board because the votes here haven't changed and we will get more public exposure if we also post at this link.
I enjoyed the initial "taste" of the 20 participants because I finished up with more Fitbitters rather than have 2 x Goal days from the same interested Fitbitters, hence my 10 Challenge limit hit the ceiling quicker.
Please please increase the group limit again from 10, the challenges are even more exciting with a higher number of people. It's cruel to torment us by increasing the limit and then reducing it again!
I agree with everyone regarding the dismay this has caused in giving us a taste of bigger groups then yanking it away. The big Adventure challenges with 30 is still so buggie and not as easy to follow people in the messages tab, so having 20 was just a really great way to get so many people together at once (hopefully there might be some kind of hybrid between the adventures and the challenges). These bigger groups also give an opportunity for people to invite their friends without hogging up such precious limited space. This alleviated somewhat the fact that we can only be in 10 groups overall at once. I also don't understand why accepting a future challenge counts towards the 10 groups. Since the cutback I now tend to join more daily challenges since these are shorter in duration so maybe I can spread out the number of people through the week I can invite. Lastly, the sync times are soooo long that I end up having to leave the groups right when it ends in order to get into other groups before they fill up. It feels rude not to stick around to congratulate the winner but I can't wait 11 hours for a few people to sync up because the other challenges fill up SUPER FAST. So 10 max in a group + 10 groups total + future groups counting towards the 10 max groups + really long sync times= big frustration. One of the best things so far had been the new community tab and so increasing the number of participants seemed like that next big thing to enjoy the newfound Fitbit friends. I am hoping that Fitbit is looking to make the daily, weekly and goal day competitions even bigger and better than the first premature release (and hopefully VERY soon) 😁
Please bring back the 20 participants in a challenge rule. It was nice to combine 2 groups that all wanted to be step together. Now we are back to having some feel left out again😢
It was so great having 20 people. I introduced a few fellow Fittbitters from different friend groups it was great. We were all very dissapointed that it was revoked. Hopefully it will reappear soon.
It appeared that this had been implemented, and for a few weeks, we were able to have workweek hustle challenges with up to 20 people, but when we hit the rematch button for this week, it capped our group out at 10! This was a huge blow to our group - half of which can't participate in this week's challenge. It split the group, and everyone is unhappy. We're doing one of the Yosemite challenges to keep the group together, but it isn't the same, and some people have dropped out because of time zone differences.
Please change it back to where at least 20 people can participate in a workweek hustle. We'd love it if there was a higher cap, but we'll take 20 for now. Thank you.
Last week we could have more than 10 participants in the workweek hustle. Why can’t we have more than 10 this week? This seems like an arbitrary number and a change in service excludes several of our group (who have been invited, but now cannot join). Sort of like being left off the team, except that shouldn’t be the feeling one gets when using a fitbit. The workweek hustle is less about crushing the challenge as being part of a group of like-minded, local friends to encourage one another. We’ve been doing this challenge for months. Please change the number of participants back to 15. Or 30 since that is the limit on “Adventure Races.”
I was just in a workweek hustle that ended June 16, 2017 with 18 people. We wanted to run another challenge this week and only 10 people could enter. I have done several in the past with only 10, but the larger group was more encouraging and fun. I hope a new update is released that will allow us to continue with more than 10 people.
I guess that feature was implemented prematurely. I think it will be available very soon. I am waiting for it!!! I loved that bit of time where we could have 20 in a group!!!!
