Integrate with Apple Watch

The options available for wearing your FitBit with business casual clothing is extremely limited. Please partner with Apple & allow us to use the Apple Watch to track our steps for a premium subscription. I love the APP & currently proudly wear my flex daily, but would really like the option available when the Apple Watch is released.

I used Fitbit for years loved the software.  But I had to switch to Apple Watch.  I would pay a premium to use the FitBit software with my Apple Watch.  I tried used my Fitbit device at the same time as my AppleWatch but it was very cumbersome.

Open another source of revenue for Fitbit there many Apple Watch users who want this product.

Apple Watch doesn't have to die out for Fitbit devices to conquer. Remember Bill Gates invested in Apple, because he knew Microsoft's success wasn't dependent on Apple's death.  Some of Apple's technologies helped improve Microsoft.

I love the Fitbit App and its challenges. I have bought multiple fit bit trackers for family and friends in the past so that we can compete. But the trackers are no longer holding up or accurately tracking. Have bought 3 for myself in the past year ☹️  I now have the Apple Watch and love the accuracy and duarabilty. Would like to still compete and would be willing to pay a service fee please add an option for Apple Watch to sync with the app.

Please please please please please let us use our apple watches with fitbit app. It is the best fitness app out there, it does everything I want it to do. I just feel stupid wearing to devises on my wrists.

@Choccoking,

No problem...  Fitbit has multiple models that clip on.  You don't need to wear them on your wrist.

Yes!  This needs to happen. While Fitbit and the mobile track/Apple health will sync, any steps taken with your Apple Watch without your phone don't get synced to the Fitbit app. It's only the ones originally take with your phone. It's ridiculous this isn't available yet.

I would be happy to pay a small subscription to the app to allow apple watch integration.  Especially to compete against friends and enter challenges.

I just received an Apple Watch as a retirement gift and I'm so excited!  I was, however, sad to learn that Fitbit does not "like" Apple and won't make an app to sync with the Apple Watch.  I've been with Fitbit for years, but I will be using my Apple Watch.  I thought about getting a clip on Fitbit, but it's ridiculous that Fitbit won't listen to its customers.

I'm now an Apple Watch user!

I didn't mean my input in to this discussion as an attack on Fitbit, but as an input that as the technology exists to build a common GUI for pedometer devices it's disappointing that the manufacturers don't find a common ground to build a good open source API common across all platforms.

But one area where there is a looooooot of room for improvement is the build quality of the devices, and to share a common interface with other platforms would offset the frustrations this causes.

i downloaded stridekick and yes, it is a common interface, but it is not a patch on the excellent Fitbit app so I stopped using it after a week or so. It's also chargeable for anything other than the very basic challenges which I am not interested in (it's not cheap).

to the mods: I know you use these forums as a sales platform but in this case please take people's enthusiastic inputs that they genuinely like your app (and that should be taken as a good thing 🙂 ), and want to be able to use it with friends and families using apple and co. Open APIs mean this s more than possible, it's whether you have the interest to do it and support other platforms.

With today's integration, the fitbit app should be compatible with multiple products.

My company has a wellness program and promotes steps. The employee benefits by reduced health care premiums. Our company supports Apple products. Wearing two devices is not practicable.

Please integrate 100% of the Fitbit App with the Apple Watch

I have had 3 Fitbit watches, and each did not have a lifespan of more than a year each. I now have an iWatch and love it, please make the Fitbit app compatible with the iWatch.

I have use the Lose It! app for years and I've tried others as well. Blues it has always been my favorite and I am so disappointed to see that they are going to start charging a monthly fee to integrate with Fitbit. I just purchased my fit bit about a month ago and love it, but now I have to lose my app that you have been dependent on for quite some time. I would love to see an integration with the lose it app.

I'm a Fitbit user and have been for a few years now.  I really like the apps and how all the data works together.  Since I really don't like having anything on my wrists, I use the One tracker. (would be nice if i could wear it while under 45 meters (145ft) of water, but it's still a nice device)  Because of how nicely the data integrates with the app, I even purchased the scale.  My wife used the charge-hr for years.  She's gone through a few of them just like the rest of the users here.  Like most of the other users commenting, she has now also switched to an Apple watch.  What she found so far though, is that the Fitbit app is so much nicer.  It's easier to read and displays the data in a much more organized form.  It would also be nice for her to continue to be a part of the Fitbit community competing with friends (like me) who still use Fitbit trackers.

I can understand that Fitbit probably feels a little threatened by Apple.  Over the years, technology changes though.  If your company is to survive, you have to change with the times.  Take a lesson from the traditional telephone companies.  Anyone born after about the late 80's has no traditional telephone line in their home.  Why would they when they have a cell phone which goes everywhere with them.  That's a ton of revenue the traditional telephone companies are loosing.  In order to continue to stay in business, they needed to find other sources of revenue (like providing internet, television, and cell phone services).  I see the Fitbit company heading in that same direction.

From what I understand, Fitbit started out as a small pocket based pedometer and someone got the great idea to add a clock transforming the device into a watch.  That was brilliant, and in doing so Fitbit has sold a ton of trackers and have really built up their community.  Unfortunately for them, Apple has released a better watch that integrates much nicer with their phone providing a ton more features than the Fitbit devices.  I could be wrong, but I really don't think there's any way Fitbit will be able to add features like that into their devices to compete in that arena.  I'm sure in the future, the other large phone manufacturers will also try to release watches to compete head to head with Apple.  As you can see from the previous comments, people aren't going to wear two watch-type devices.  That's just ridiculous.

Based on the fact that the Fitbit community so loves the apps that Fitbit has created, and are willing to pay money to continue to use them (even with their Apple watch), the best thing Fitbit can to would be to create a product or service that would allow the data from the Apple watch (and the others that will surely be released in the future by other manufacturers) to be loaded into their app.  This could potentially be an app that costs money in the app stores to sync the data into the Fitbit app, or maybe it could be a license key that allows the Apple watch the ability to register as a device in the Fitbit app (that would be ideal).  The license could be valid for a given time period (like 1yr) and require the users to renew the license for a fee.  Maybe there could be different tiers of the app/license to allow certain features (like steps, sleep, heart-rate, etc).  Maybe allow users to participate in the challenges only if they pay for the more expensive license key.

Working in the information technology field, I know the application programming interfaces (APIs) already exist to allow this type of functionality.  Fitbit already has to have APIs like that in order for their scale to be able to sync its data into the Fitbit app.  Apple already has APIs to allow their data to sync with other devices as well.  The only thing that would stop such communication would be for the companies to add restrictions to their APIs to not allow them to communicate with the other manufacturer's devices. (which is exactly what fitbit seems to be doing with apple (and maybe apple is restricting what fitbit would be able to pull from there api too))

Instead of working so hard to lock down the environment in hopes to try forcing the people to purchase and only use Fitbit devices in order to be able to participate in the community in an attempt to try to keep the company afloat, I think it would be a much better strategy to play nicely with others and charge for that functionality.  From what I've read, everyone (including me) would be happy to pay for the ability to continue to use the Fitbit apps and remain a part of the community.  If you focus more on making the best apps and continuing to support your community, you can continue to generate revenue even after everyone has switch from using your tracking devices (which over time, i'm pretty sure well over 50% of your customers will).

I just got an iwatch for my birthday. I absolutely love my fit bit as I have 3 different versions and have purchased at least 8 as gifts. I took off

my fitbit for the 1st time in 3 years to wear my gift.  I miss it already! I would pay a price to keep these two to work together!

I am a new member of the Fitbit community (Joined in Aug 2017), initially buying the Charge 2, however, I upgraded that purchase and bought the Blaze.  To say it simply, I love my Blaze, but I will be upgrading to the new Fitbit Ionic (What I have been waiting for)!  Personally, I think it would open up the Fitbit world, if the Apple folks could integrate into the Fitbit community.  I'm not into marketing strategies, but it could really push the envelope on fitness well being, if the two were able to work a deal so sharing fitness information "Back & Forth" was possible.  Anyway, that's my thoughts on the subject, and it is a subject on a lot of people's minds.  Why in 2017, should we have to choose between the two companies, make the deal!!!!

Please integrate. I just purchased an apple watch. Love the fitbit community. I have gone through 3 fitbit Charge HR's as well now a Blaze. I want to be able to interact with my fitbit family and friends without having to purchase a new device so often.

Well the 3rd generation of Apple Watch has been announced and there is still no Fitbit integration.  Fitbit is still holding out from making integration easy as a way to protect their market?  If Apple comes out with a app that does what people love on the fitbit app, it will be the final nail.  Fitbit CAN be that flagship app people use for analyzing their data, if they choose to do so.

This December it will be 4 years since I got my first Fitbit.  Apple is calling me..  I am sad to lose my connection to friends and awesome data, to answer that call.

Add me to this list. The new watch with Nike+ integration will allow me to interact with my Nike+ friends easily. I'd love to still interact with my fitbit friends via challenges.

In a way I feel bad for Fitbit but making an open API is so simple that it's hard to be too sympathetic. Fitbit then preserves the money it makes on the hardware via good software ala Apples IWatch.

Since I first replied to this thread I've had to change my Fitbit again due to various failures. I'm a whisker away from throwing the towel in with Fitbit and experimenting with what would be my first iwatch (several friends and family recommend them).

Im hesitating because I like the Fitbit app veeeeery much and my little martyr act may only serve to cut off my nose to spite my face. But ultimately Fitbits excellent app can only paper over the hardware quality cracks for so long and I shan't be holding out for much longer. I suspect I will take the plunge with the iwatch at xmas

Please allow the Fitbit app to work with the Apple Watch. I am willing to pay a fee to have them work together. I prefer the Apple watch for the ability to reply to messages but I love the Fitbit app. Unfortunately, I have to choose. Will probably be giving up my Fitbit soon.
