Integrate with iOS Health

Hi there,

I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall.  I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.

This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs!  Thanks!

I know holiday sales were good for Fitbit. But it sounds like returns might be significant. I hope for Fitbit's sake some brings that the powers that be's attention.

It doesn't look good when you doesn't respect your customers. I'm going to get Fitbit Charge HR but fortunetely it will be aftermarket one. I wouldn't buy a new one beacuse of lack of Apple Health intergration. I use Health as my main tool to gather all data about my body. It is made to share that data between apps. I have Withings scale (it does much more than Aria and have Health support) and I have to buy additional app to add data to Fitbit app. It is silly. Please change your mind and add Apple Health support.

If it's been "Under Consideration" for the last 18 months, then I would take the opening comment from them to be a complete dodge.  I switched from Jawbone to Fitbit because the actual band was not well designed and failed often, but the customer support and software functionalty supurb.  I never dreamt to check that Fitbit wouldn't integrate with HealthKit.  To state "Because of this commitment to connect with other applications, HealthKit is really interesting to us." 18 months ago and not have any update is pure marketing speak (I know, I'm a marketer).  They want to build a closed system and force people to use their APIs.  VERY disappointing.  When this band fails, I'll be going elsewhere.  Fitbit can't do it all, that's why HealthKit, and not connecting with that is not supporting their stated goal of ".... help[ing] people lead healthier, more active lives, so we’re always looking for ways that our users can use their data to support their fitness goals."  Fitbit: If you've been "looking for ways" for 18 months and the answer is right under your nose, then you have a problem.  If you want to keep it a closed system, say so, and tell us why.  But cut the nonsense.

Also, just found several apps in App Store that seem to solve this nonsense - just search on "Fitbit Apple Health App"

Please unblock your data and share it with the apple health app. The top band tracker (and most expensive) and your locking up the data. At least offer it to Fitbit premium users.

Fitbit, why you still refuse to allow us to sync our data with the health app is beyond me.

What is going on with this update? Do I need to buy Apple watch or will Fitbit developers give us what we need?!

No they won't. If you want HealthKit integration you need to go elsewhere. There are 115 pages of requests going back years. If they were going to do it, it would have been done by now.

I love the Fitbit products. My husband and I have owned the Fitbit One, Flex, several Charge HRs, and The Surge as well as an Aria Scale. I am also an avid Apple user and have several of thier products. I wore my Fitbit Surge for tracking my workouts every day and I loved the way it integrated with my Apple Music and MyFitnessPal. And I wear my Fitbit Flex at night to do my sleep tracking. I still use my Fitbit One occasionally to track my steps when I do not want to wear the Surge. But I kept gravitating to the Apple Watch...why? Because the Surge is just not a pleasant looking device to wear 24/7 and I wanted to be able to integrate all of my Health Data into a single app and Apple HealthKit would allow me to do that. It seems to me that Fitbit does not want to integrate with HealthKit because Apple is now the competition with a smart watch of their own. But what Ftbit fails to understand is that people don't like being backed into a corner and have their options taken away from them. Withings also sells fitness trackers and wifi scales that do integrate with HealthKit, so Ftbit is going to boost their business for those of us that want a complete health solution if they doon't wise up soon and get onboard with HealthKit. I ultimately decided to buy an Apple Watch after much research and soul searching. My reasons? Well first, every experience I have had with Fitbit support has been horrible. Apple's customer service is superlative. And now I can wear a stylish watch and track all my fitness needs as well. Fitbit has the Sync Solver apps to thank for the fact that I am not selling my Fitbit Flex or Aria scale as I can use that app to sync my weight, body fat, and sleep data with it to the HealthKit app. If that app did not exist, Withing would be getting some of my money right now. I am only missing one thing now...I loved the activity display in Fitbit that showed me when I work at my cardio or peak levels during my workout. I will miss that function, but it is not enough to make me not want to have.the Apple Watch. I would love it if there was a way to get my workout and heart rate data from the HealthKit app into Fitbit. The point is, people are getting more health conscious...but a lot of them want complete solutions. HealthKit interfaces with over 50 other health and fitness apps, including several that sell their own tracking devices. Get onboard Fitbit, or get left behind.

All I can tell you is, I won't be buying any more products from Fitbit until I see integration with Apple Health app!!!

Please work to make this happen.  I hate having to look several places to see all my health data.  iOS health for heart and other info, fitbit app for sleep, steps etc.  It'd sure be nice to be able to see all my data in 1 location.  THIS IS IMPORTANT Fitbit start looking at it and stop dragging your feet.

And sync solver doesn't work anymore don't buy it people.

So.....what is the problem here?? Fitbit is a great device...the Health app is doing great at tracking my other items...granted, my iPhone tracks steps, but I don't always have my phone on me...so syncing to the Fitbit is really important to me - and from the other posts on here, many others feel the same way! What is the plan?

Yes the default health app for fitbit works but I want 1 location for all that I track. Not 2 different apps. Sure I can see steps and sleep in fitbits app but I track blood pressure and glucose levels to name a few. I use the healthkit from Apple works great too and if fitbit would do more than just think about integrating it would be great.

Apparently Apple isn't too happy about FitBit not integrating!

@jamipie831, If you look at the date of that article (October 27, 2014), it was written well over a year ago. This thread, with many pleas from deceived customers, has been in existence since June 2014. It's clear that Fitbit had made a decision not to integrate since the beginning, hence their expulsion from Apple Store. Many of us past loyal customers had high hopes Fitbit would integrate earlier on. But Fitbit continues to remain silent on the issue and continues to deceive customers by claiming iOS compatibility.

If you can still return your Fitbit, I would highly recommend it. If integration is important to you,  don't get stuck with a product with the hope that it might or might not integrate. There are many much better products out there that does integrate. Take if from me, I purchased my last Fitbit product one year ago and regretted not being able to return it due to lack of information back then. I guess I was riding on hope back then.

Love my Fitbit! Like the Fitbit app as well and the integration with the website, but would also love to be able to sync with Apple's Health, silly that you can't.

Just finished setting up my Fitbit only to find it doesn't sync with Apple Health - I'm hoping Amazon accepts my return, no faith in Fitbit after reading this post!

I'm genuinely shocked that Fitbit hasn't done this. This is a great opportunity that clearly a majority of your users would love to see. Why not give the option to do it?

This is classic 'missed opportunity'....

While I like the Fitbit app and seeing all my progress, etc - there are things I like about Healthkit as well.

My honest opinion is if the two were integrated - it would be a match made in heaven. Plus, why not be the first of a vast range of similar devices to be on board with this....
