Integrate with iOS Health

Hi there,

I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall.  I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.

This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs!  Thanks!

Previously I mentioned how I knew that fitbit doesnt integrate with Apple Health and I was mostly ok. But now I have used my fitbit charge hr for a week. I forgot my fitbit on the charger at home twice. I still have my iphone on me. It would be really nice if fitbit did integrate with apple health and took that missing data from apple health to get the total steps etc for the missing time on my fitbit.

I guess that is the advantage of the apple watch. Everything is in one place and complements the iphone.

Are there any updates to whether fitbit will be integrated with the iHealth app? If no further resolution, i may be inclined to switch over to the apple watch simply for this integration. I'd hate to leave fitbit, but all other activity is tracking in the iHealth and its nice to have a consolidated place to review data tracking. Just simply hoping to see some sort of fix, but with 119 pages of comments, seems like it may be unlikely to happen in the near future.

I look forward to feedback regarding a positive change. Thanks!

No there are no updates. They are still listening. Not hearing, just listening. It's time they changed this from under consideration as it obviously isn't.

I've been with you for a few years now Fitbit. Even bought stock in your company because I believe in your product. Maybe now, as your stock continues to plummet, would be a good time to rethink your stubbornness on this matter. Play nice with Apple. It's in customers best interest.

Fitbit does not have to play nice with Apple. But at least they should be honest with their customers that it officially has no intention of integrating with HealthKit. Fitbit lacks the integrity and courage to do so. For over 20 months now, it's been giving iOS clients false hopes via this thread.

It's sad to see all the continuing pleas and begging from users who became aware that there's no integration. Move on to other platforms. You won't regret it. Fitbit has not given you the respect you deserve. I for one would not come back as a Fitbit user even if they decide to integrate. There are just way better procucts and companies that truly care about their customers out there.

It'll be interesting to see for how much longer this thread continues to live on for or when we'll actually hear an official declaration from Fitbit about integration with HealthKit. It's a simple Yes or No, Fitbit. It's already been 20+ months. What else do you need to hear from your loyally misled clients?

Interestingly after the post from @Wetharris I checked out their stock prices. Plummeted over the last 12 months. Majorly. They are a company going under fast.

I heard they were recently bought out by another company, I think it was FitStar.  I was hoping that they were going to finally listen to this post!

I think you have it backward, Fitbit acquired Fitstar.

So good chance nothing will change.

My brother just called me and asked me which FitBit he should buy for his girlfriend.

My first response was, buy the Charge HR.

After hearing him out a bit more, he revealed that he was planning on buying an Apple Watch in a few months. Immediately, my answer changed. FitBit isn't right for him- he won't be able to see her activity and compete with her.

He is now going to buy a Garmin fitness tracker for her instead (they seem to be the next best choice), so that their products can "see" each other when he gets an Apple Watch.

I think it was good advice to him, and a perfect example of why lack of Apple Health support can be detrimental to FitBit.

This makes me really sad I was wishful thinking that they might change their stance.

I bought a Fitbit yesterday and think it is great so far but I was really disappointed when it didn't integrate with my Apple Health. Now I am just blogging to get one more vote toward syncing with Apple.

@*Twobcont*

*With all due respect, Fitbit doesn't give a sh*t about your vote. They
have your money and will keep giving you lip service.*

*I bought a Fitbit because my friends are on the platform, and that's
exactly what they want. They'll only integrate when they're forced to, I.e.
Enough people have bought non Fitbit devices that people have friends on
another platform.*

*If Apple releases a social feature along with second generation Apple
Watch, Fitbit is cooked. Until then the folks in charge are laughing at
this thread, and laughing to the back on both our dimes. *

Please integrate your product with the iOS Health app.

Your refusal to do this puzzles me.  I have a Fitbit Surge that needs to be replaced, and that feature/integration is very important to me.  I will be looking for a different product than yours.

The thing is I want to keep all my activity data in one place.

I also use Nike+ to track my runs, and I would love to see my dayly activity (caputed by mi fitbit flex) and my weekly runs (captured by nike+) inside iHelth

Please consider this Robot tongue

Note: nike+ shares my activity and "fuel points" with iHealth.

+1 for iOS HealthKit integration

Guys get real. This feature request is 18 months old. We are on page 120. It has more feature request votes than any other and yet it is denied. If they were going to do it they would have. The only reason they haven't made an official announcement is it would affect sales. Look at the facts. 1. They integrate with Microsofts version of the same system, health vault, which came out after health kit, but are still waiting for health kit to mature. They already buy into the concept - just not with Apple. 2. Adding a +1 now at this stage is pointless. We are already on +2000. As is threatening to buy another brand. Unfortunately they already make enough sales because people presume it will sync with HealthKit because they won't make an announcement. 3. Getting angry with the moderators is pointless. They are just doing their job and repeating the party line. 4. If the company had any credibility they would close this thread and make a public announcement that they have no intention of integrating with HealthKit. Because they don't. That much is clear. For a developer it isn't a huge job. What's actually needed is for everyone to swamp Twitter with #fitbitandapple to raise awareness of the issue in the wider world. If everyone reading this starts tweeting with the same hashtag we might just force an announcement. Now that would be something.

At the moment I only have Fitbit Arya smart scale. I am interested of many other fitbit product but the lack of Apple Health integration is the show stopper for me. I am already dissapointed because the scale doesn't deliver the info Apple Health without 3rd party sync app. No more Fitbit products for me before the Apple Health sync.

I'm using many different localized health and fittness apps which already uses Apple Health integration. Those cannot be replaced by Fitbit products because of lack of special and localized features like food databases etc.

Debating between apple watch & fitibit Charge HR.  Really like the HR feature in both...might return fitbit for Apple Watch (or stop using fitbit when new apple watch comes out).  Would like everything tied together....for ease of lookup/use.  Let the best app win!

@steveroberts - I transitioned to the apple watch and have no regrets.  Had it not been for fitbit's decision not to sync with HealthKit, I never would have switched.  I'm quite glad I mad the change.  I look forward to future versions, but am extremely pleased with it as is.

I agree the HR feature is quite attractive.

FitBit doesn't miss my business, but then I don't miss them either.
