Integrate with iOS Health

Hi there,

I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall.  I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.

This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs!  Thanks!

My original FitBit died and I replaced it with a new Flex. I really like the FitBit Dashboard and how the information in my account is so easy to read and work with. I also have an Apple Watch, and while the price was nearly four times as much, I can’t really say I get more out of it than I do with my FitBit. Both are excellent products. The Apple Health App interface is somewhat confusing, but I am taking time to get used to it. FitBit is the top selling tracker company for a reason.

At one time IBM was top in PCs, and Blackberry with phones, Yahoo for search enhgines.  They choose not to evolved with the times or requirements of their users and ignored what was going on in the marketplace. Newcomers came along with inovation and realized that it was much easier and less expensive to to keep their existing user base happy. When users are happy they don't actively seek out an alternative product, service or company. When they feel their needs are not being met or ignored, they start seeking out a product, service from a company that seems to care about their needs and jump ship. Once you have created a disgruntled user base it becomes a lot more difficult and expensive to win them back. There may have been a reason for fitbit to be a 'top selling tracker company'...but their dominance is waining, and they are losing market share.

I and most my friends use WeChat for communication. There is a daily ranking of steps among your WeChat friends and it sources steps data from iHealth.

I would love that Apple health shows all the data from my fitness apps in a central location and would love to be able to do that with my fitbit as well

I would like to see a HealthKit integration. I want to be able to view my exercise and activity, sleep habits, and steps to compare long-term trends in the Health App.

I bought the Charge because it has integration to Health Kit. Now I have a 129€ piece of **ahem** in the corner. It does nothing my phone already does. I hoped to leave my phone at home for running and then get my data synced later. Since it doesn't, I have no reason to use it at all. I can't even get my money back because it's not broken

Yes, please add this support. I don't think its necessary for me to purchase a 3rd party app to get this information synced.

It's been years now, this clearly isn't being held up for technical reasons, but instead for evil business reasons to lock you into the Fitbit ecosystem and to try to force you to pay for the "premium" data analytics. Shane on you Fitbit!

"What do you imagine a HealthKit integration would entail..."

I would imagine the Fitbit app pushing the data it collects to the iOS Health app as being sufficient integration for most people. If people use different apps to track different health metrics, the built-in Health app is the best place to see all of it together. I don't think there is any need for the fitbit app to pull data from other apps through HealthKit.

"...and what do you expect to get out of it?"

I hope to be able to use my fitbit device to track the things it is good at tracking, and then see that data highlighted with other things that are important to me in one place. There are already third-party apps on the AppStore, so there is clearly some demand for this feature. I'd like to not have to trust some random third-party developer to shuffle the data between apps on the same device.

If all you have to do is push data out, I can;t imagine it would be very difficult. Saying you don't want to add iOS features is a bit of a cop-out. I was extremely surprised to buy my first fitbit deice yesterday to find that after over a year there has been no decent HealthKit integration.

@SunsetRunner, I would recommend returning your new Fitbit, if HealthKit integration is important to you. You are one of many who purchased Fitbit believing in full iOS compatibility only to discover that it's not true. Sad to still see so many Fitbit users begging to have this feature that'll never come. Return for refund while you can.

I would like to be able to use the Fitbit heart monitor on my charge HR to add data in my Nike running app. With HealthKit integration this should be possible. If not an Apple Watch will be my next purchase!

Voting for HealthKit integration to centralize my fitness-specific information with other relevant health data so Ivan share with my doctor etc. Does not seem like a difficult feature to add...

I just started using a fitbit blaze yesterday but have been using the iPhone Health app for several months. I really wish the two could communicate.

If you want the health integration you are probably better off returning your Fitbit and getting a smart watch that will integrate. Fitbit have said as much that it is not being progressed

Well it's now 2016 and Fitbit still doesn't sync to Apple's Health app. It would be great if this would happen after 2 years of customer/user request for integration.

I have IOS 8 loaded on my I-Phone and would really like to see my fitbit data showing up there so I can have a single app to show my doctor during checkups rather than have to prowl thru several to get info on activity, sleep, diet, and exercise.
