Integrate with iOS Health

Hi there,

I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall.  I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.

This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs!  Thanks!

I agree with the comments regarding integration with the Apple Healthkit / Health app. I would have thought Fitbit would have done this by now...
The only way to do this right now is to use third party app's such as Power Sync, Sync Solver and other "imperfect" softwares. Come on Fitbit, get this update done.

Hi njohan81!
Thanks for your nice complement!
We really like the hardware but the data ahould be available to whoever wants to share!
Have a nice week!

Has the Health app been integrated with the Fitbit yet?!?!?! Come on, I would love to have my information correctly displayed on my health app from my Fitbit. Please, make this happen. ❤ All my other apps since with my health app except Fitbit.

Feel ashamed that such a good company as Fitbit are behaving like a little child that don't want to share his toy to another children. This behaviour is no good publicity to Fitbit and just improves customers change for others brand with the same products. Why such a simple thing as share our personal information in other third parties applications as Apple Healthkit.

You remember your POTUS in behaviour and way of thinking.

2.5 years later and still nothing. Honestly the only reason I'm still involved with Fitbit is my aria - which is inconsistent and I regret buying. I would literally pay money for integration and the ability to compete in challenges with friends. I miss my challenges, but if they think we're going to give up out Apple watches for something that simple then FitBit is delusional plain and simple. I hope the eventually see the light.... but I doubt it.

With great anticipation, today I migrated from the UP 3 which had integrated HealthKit from Day 1 to the Fitbit Alta which is the first device from Fitbit that could be considered aesthetically appealing.

It's shocking and frankly pathetic to learn on day 1 of my Fitbit experience that this publically traded company has not integrated HealthKit yet.  Therefore Fitbit expects that I start from scratch on step and sleep tracking ignoring almost 1.5 years of my data and not helping to crunch those numbers into the Fitbit ecosystem thus dramatically degrading my user experience.  Clearly a lack of client focus here.

I am reading about work arounds online to get this done but it should not come to that!  I will decide over the next few days if I want to go through the effort of a work around or return my Fitbit because of the sour taste the company has immediately left in my mouth.

Lastly and separately, though still relevant to this thread, the only bluetooth scale app that was provided as an option to sync with Fitbit is their own scale, the Aria (wow!).  Fortunately my Weight Gurus scale app is able to push to Fitbit so I was able to seamlessly get my history into the Fitbit app.  Kudos Weight Gurus - shame on you Fitbit.

I would love Fitbit to sync with Apple health. It's the one thing holding me back from buying an aria

It's probably a marketing decision preventing fitbit from implementing healthkit, but I wanted to add my vote for it. What doesn't make sense to me is why fitbit has APIs to allow access to all my info online, yet they refuse to sync with Healthkit.

If you have a Fitbit device and an iPhone, there's no app that less you see all your recent health info, which is all I want. There are apps that manually sync with fitbit, but I haven't found an automatic sync that works reliably.

It's especially frustrating with the removal of various logs from the fitbit website (heart rate, blood pressure, etc) last year. Makes me wonder what they'll remove next. When I switched to a tracker that didn't include sleep tracking, fitbit removed all access to my history of sleep data. The whole point of these devices is to accumulate history of data about ourselves and view it.

I definitely think it'd be useful to have health app integration. It's frustrating for people who don't always carry their phone on them, but have a Fitbit, and their health app steps/mileage/flights climbed don't reflect all that they have done that day. I know a few people who have ditched their Fitbit's for an Apple Watch because of this reason.

Come on fitbit!

Users have been asking for this for 3 YEARS Now! What is taking you so long!?

In a period where data syncs and it's being shared between systems, you still haven't integrated with Health 😞

Looks like users have been asking for a couple of years or more for integration with Fitbit and Apple health app.  When can we expect this?  Or do we need to purchase Apple Watch instead?

When HealthKit first came out the makers of my blood glucose meter said the WOULD NOT integrate. Then one day they announced that they would. Then the app supported HealthKit.

I respect that they didn't string their users along. And to some extent due to insurance coverage they had captive user base.

I grew so sick and tired of waiting.

Glucose meters and apps have to checked by the FDA and many of them now do HealthKit.

I would love to know why Fitbit  has not done it. It is not hard to code. They don't have to get FDA approval. They would keep customers that didn't really want an Apple Watch, but wanted an integrated device.

I'm now very sad since I just bought a charge 2, assuming (my bad) that it would sync with health. Strongly considering a return so that I don't have to worry about the data getting lost.

Cannot believe it is 2017 and Fitbit won't sync with Apple Health. Swallow your pride - give up some margin - and sign the contract. I just got the charge HR for Christmas and lucky for my my birthday is only 2 months away - so I will be getting a new device that syncs with Apple. So long Fitbit.

"Swallow your pride - give up some margin - and sign the contract." - @Wsfedor they've already got a developer account with Apple to publish the app, there's no special licensing for syncing with HealthKit, they just need to implement it.  As far as I can see it's nothing to do with Apple, and *everything* to do with FitBit wanting to keep your data on their servers, and to keep you locked into their product line.  Sadly, I think it'll actually end up pushing some users away.

I agree. It is pushing me away. Too bad - since I actually like the product / fits me well. But the convenience and integration with iOS is more important.
