Integrate with iOS Health

Hi there,

I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall.  I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.

This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs!  Thanks!

It would be great to see fit bit sync with iOS health app.

Integration between Fitbit and the health app could honestly save FItbit. Their future isn't looking too good right now.

I really wish the FitBit app would sync with the Health app on the iPhone.  I recently got an Apple Watch Series 2 but I absolutely love my FitBit and wish they would integrate with iOS Health.  I don't want to lose the FitBit community and everything it entails.

I don't mean to sound critical of you. You are just doing your job and your options of what you can tell us are limited.

Tell the powers to be that making it harder to find information in the community site is not generally considered a way to "better the user experience". That is just my opinion

Considering to implement a feature since 3 years... my Charge 2 will be delivered tomorrow and I just discovered that Fitbit cannot sync to Apple health. *disappointing* I presumed this kind of integration is state of the art in 2017. Looks like I have to buy some sync app as a workaround. What's stopping you guys from implementing apple health support? You'll loose customers by ignoring the fact that apple health is the iOS standard and a perfect hub for all those other health apps out there. I think only few people use purely the Fitbit app.

@SunsetRunner  I would suggest returning your Charge 2 while you can get your money back and looking elsewhere for a wearable that syncs to HealthKit. Many of us over the years have learned fitbit is not going to change their minds on this and ultimately went elsewhere.

After pulling out my hair pleading for integration, I finally went the Apple Watch route. I'm glad I did! As more friends have made the same decision, we now share our progress with each other for support and challenges. It's not the same, but it is really very effective.

If you aren't interested in this alternative there are countless wearables to choose from.

Good luck!

As an iPhone user, I already switched my fitbit charge to Apple Watch due to the better mobile app feature provided by Apple. And now, I had switched my fitbit aria to Withings body cardio as they provide more insight of my internal body because withings supports two ways commuication between withings app and iOS Health app. I am happy that I could able to monitor my activity level and body measurement through either apps.  Fitbit, as the previous supporter of your company, your company designed great hardware but poor mobile application.  I am now considering to sell another fitbit aria bought for my parents, please consider to provide a timeline on iOS Health intergration.

Please please please come up with integration between the Apple Watch and the Fitbit app. I can't wear two watches and the Apple Watch has more functionality. I can't believe this thread is three years old....

Under consideration?

I assume Fitbit wants to lock its users in its ecosystem and chooses not to do synching to third parties (Apple Health, RunKeeper,..) while gladly taking inbound data.

It is ridiculous that Fitbit apps cannot sync with Apple Watch data. After owning several Fitbit products over the past five years (One, Flex1, Alta, Flex2) I have finally made the move to an Apple Watch. Why? Because the Fitbit hardware wasn't doing it for me. It either fell off (One, Flex1), was hideous (Alta) or didn't give me the information I needed on the wearable itself (Flex2).

The app though, I love. I really do. And I like the sleep tracking function. But its not enough to keep your hardware on my wrist when there are a suite of apps out there that can be cobbled together to match what the Fitbit one does.

In the Internet of Me era why are you fighting third party integration so much? You are slowly but surely losing customers to more advanced wearable technology... and we're bummed to go! What if you gave consumers of your hardware the app support for free and made those of us who choose Apple or Android watches over the Blaze based on lifestyle needs pay so you could recoup some of your losses? Just please do something or my next purchase is going to be the Withings scale to replace my Aria.

So it's what 2 year after the creation of this thread and fitbit still doesn't integrate with Apple's HealthKit? Please make work of this guys!

Is this still under consideration 3 years later?

Well, given that this suggestion is hidden from their Feature Suggestions,
there has been no commitment from Fitbit despite the amount of feedback and
that they intentionally block the 3rd party apps that were syncing
data...I'd say No, this is not "Under Consideration".

They will never do it. Data lock in is part of their business model.

Add me to the list of those who would like Fitbit to integrate with Apple health. I was really surprised it didn't.

It's 2017, and the best and most popular activity and HR trackers on the market do not sync with Apple Health Kit?

I assumed this was addressed by now, since most other brands do sync data to health kit. But that was my mistake for assuming.

As much as I love my Charge 2 so far, I am returning it today and choosing something else that does sync directly to Apple Health Kit.

I will revisit Fitbit if this feature has been added.

So it's 2017, any updates on this at all? Fitbit is the leader of exercise wearable, Imo, but smartwatches are right on their backs, with apple having 50% of the smartphone market by themselves, it almost seems necessary for Apple Health Kit integration to exist...? If you all plan on sticking around much longer that is.

I'd really love to see my Apple Watch link with my Fitbit - I interchange between them loads and it's annoying that they can't be linked

Pretty ridiculous that it still doesn't sync with apples health app. I automatically assumed it did when I got one 2017, bummer!
