Integrate with iOS Health

Hi there,

I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall.  I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.

This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs!  Thanks!

Make a fitbit app on the Apple Watch please!!!!!

I use health to track my blood sugar levels for diabetes.  Would be nice if the apps talked to each other.  Sharing data across apps does not mean using Fitbit less.

Why won't you allow the Fitbit and apple health to share info?

Fitbit does not connect to the Health app like every other fitness app,  please fix that

Another Fitbit user strongly considering switching to Apple Watch, mostly because of HealthKit integration.  3 years?  C'mon. If there's a technical reason it just can't be done, say so instead of string us all along with this "under consideration" crap.

Please get this done. I use the Fitbit and Healthkit to make my life simpler, not more complicated, ok?

Dear FitBit,

I too have a awesome Fitbit Blaze and want to buy an Aria scale but want to have iOS Health integration.  I am shocked that you have not even responded to your customers 184 pages of comments.

Stepping Up

I've been a fitbit user for the past two years. The Charge HR I had fell apart 4 times. Each time, fitbit replaced the item, while it was within warranty. The fitbit experience has been excellent, good software, excellent challenges, etc.

The fitbit hardware is of a low build quality. I grew sick of this and opted to replace my 4th fitbit Charge HR with an Apple Watch. The build quality is excellent, but the software lacks the simplicity of the fitbit. Additionally, I am missing the "work week hustle" style activities that I grew to love within the fitbit ecosystem.

I hope that apple's system simplifies itself and comes up with some fun community focused challenges over the next couple of Watch iOs releases.

I understand why fitbit wouldn't want to integrate too easily with HealthKit from apple, but I think the users would benefit from that type of integration.

Hopefully some clever 3rd party application does this already.

A vote to have your software read the I watch data.

I want to be able to use an Apple watch to still participate in work week challenges and the like. The Fitbit app is far superior to the Apple options but I personally prefer the Apple watch interface and hardware.

I'd love to see Fitbit connect with Apple Health app in iOS 10.

I also want to see HealthKit integration. Both ways. I have an Apple Watch and a Fitbit Blaze and I use both, just not at the same time. I want to use both data sources in one app. I prefer yours.... but note this has been on the backlog for over 3 years! Do you ever actually respond to your users?

Yes this feature is really required. Why don't you guys do something about it. Surely if other apps can do it why not Fitbit?!

Wow! I had no idea you've been dragging your feet for so long! You ought to consider that if you provide an app for iOS minke devices you should support its analogs.

When I was using the failed Up Band, at least I could link seamlessly to Apple Health.

Time to step up and at least commit to developing a link. Encore un effort, mes amis!

Ok, Fitbit, I too would like to see fitbit integrate with IOS Health.  I have a Blaze & would like to see this feature.  However, you seem to be totally ignoring your user base on this request.  I see over 5k people have requested this and you are not providing any information or update to all of us.

I am with all of those users that say you will likely be losing me as a customer if you can't even respond to a VERY popular feature request.  I will be buying an Apple watch.

As they seem to be ignoring this thread so I've tried to bring it to their attention more publicly via Twitter:

If you're following this thread please retweet, 5000 retweets might focus their attention a bit more than a forum thread that they have hidden!

Well it got a response but it didn't tell us anything new!

PLEASE DO THIS!

I love the Fitbit app - it has everything I need/want to see, it's easy to use, and it's FUN.

BUT

I need the integration with Health so that the data I collect through my Fitbit can be retrieved by other apps that I'm also using.  I'm currently stuck entering everything in 2 or 3 different apps every day because all of the apps retrieve from Health but there's no data in Health to retrieve.  This is time consuming, unsustainable, and makes me almost want to give up on trying to be healthy altogether.  Today's technology users are very busy and want easier, more intuitive behavior from their apps.  Health is more or less the data hub so integration is essential to make users happy.

As a side note: I've worn my Fitbit and Apple watch simultaneously to compare the data and app differences.  I didn't notice a huge difference in accuracy between the two but I definitely still prefer the data comparisons and app interface of Fitbit.  The Apple watch's Activity app only looks at what you are burning where Fitbit looks at calorie intake as well.  That said, if Fitbit doesn't integrate with Health soon, I'm going to be forced to stick with my Apple watch.

Fitbit has a really great product but users (especially Apple customers) want integration.  If all of our apps can't intuitively work together to help keep us informed we get very frustrated.  In the technological age there's really no reason we can't have this.

Strangely, even with 5236 "up" votes, this suggestion does not show up as a "top suggestion" at https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/idb-p/features/tab/most-kudoed where the top item currently has 3196 "up" votes and five hundred odd comments, posted back in 2013.

If one is willing to use a third party app, "Sync Solver" does a pretty good job of getting data between the Health and Fitbit apps, but a solution from fitbit could be much much better. http://syncsolver.com/

Exactly; if they just gave us what we are clearly all asking for, it would be so much better.  It's good to hear that Sync Solver works though.  Now I have to decide which is worse: giving up my fitbit and just sticking with my Apple watch or biting the bullet and paying for another app.

Let's hope someone eventually listens to us!

It's time for iOS Health integration ! Maybe we should all leave a 1* review in the app store, with the mention "doesn't support iOS Health" 😞  And we can keep asking on their Facebook page too! Yes, time for some anarchy, maybe they'll listen...
