Integrate with iOS Health

Hi there,

I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall.  I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.

This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs!  Thanks!

Add my vote. However I'm finding that data sharing among the major apps that do support HealthKit is hit or miss: I've fiund duplicate data from the same data source in HealthKit, and lack of data in apps that share the same information; calories reported in one app are not shared with others. This means that all the apps only show partial data. Fitbit needs to ensure that doesn't happen if it joins HealthKit.

Yes, please add Apple Health integration for FitBit! I use the One and Aria -- right now the weight info gets pulled into Apple Health through MyFitnessPal's integration (with you guys and with Apple Health), but it's using the iPhone motion sensor for Steps and I would love to have my One connected!

I have noticed that calories are pulled in from myfitnesspal are doubled

MFP doubles everything, and then it loses previous information from prior days. They are aware of the problem.

All my other health related apps have been updating over the past couple of days. I'll give fitbit a small window to complete the hooks (I'd hate to think they haven't even started at all) but I'll be the first to admit that if all my other apps are automated and this requires me to manually enter its info in - I will probably find myself transitioning off to others whose apps are going to make it easier for me.

29 apps now,

I would love to see support for HealthKit in FitBit. I'm pretty surprised it doesn't have it already. I'd have expected FitBit to be on the forefront here.

I would love integration as well. I already use several apps in it. Thank you.

Ok, fitbit support told me to vote and linked to this thread, but I am completely unclear as to what I'm supposed to be voting on? Has the update with integration been submitted or not? If yes, why do we need to vote? If no, what are the choices we're voting on? If the update isn't released soon, I'm going to ditch my fitbit and just use the phone's built in step counter. At least that works.

Rabitluvr is right.

What are we voting on?

I think this is what happens when the Coders and the flip card readers are not on the same page

Joining the crowd to say I'd love to see Fitbit in the Health app! I'm disappointed that Jawbone and so many other apps are already integrated and we don't have Fitbit support yet.

I asked about the update today, 9/30/2014, and was told to vote here to make it happen.  I love my fitbit one but it's getting old and I need to upgrade - I will buy something that works w the Health app.  Please make it happen or I will have to buy a different device.

It's time to integrate Fitbit with the Health Kit from Apple. Even Myfitnesspal AND Lose It! are already ready to go. Please make it happen sooner than later!

So... Apple fault!?

Very doubtful. The only reason Apple wouldn't let an app utilize the API is because the developer (Fitbit) either wrote something that was buggy, or broke the App Store rules. I've been waiting for months for the Fitbit Force replacement to be released, but their handling of this is making me reconsider. Last chance for this customer, Fitbit! Post a communication about this!
