Integrate with iOS Health

Hi there,

I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall.  I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.

This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs!  Thanks!

Whoever wrote that letter saying it was apple'a fault is an IDIOT!! Apple has no control at all other than approving the app after it is submitted. It's up to fitbit to use apple's API so the program will communicate.

Another user requesting Healthkit integration with my fitbit app. It's a killer feature and the lack of it being in the app makes me seriously consider another fitness tracker product.

I was hoping Endomondo app, which is linked with Fitbit app and Health app, might add my steps in Healthkit. It does not.

Intrigation with IOS 8 and it's Healthkit app is a necessity for sure.  If not, Fitbit will be left behind...

Would love both data to be in sync. Fitbit is a perfect match for the Health App, and I love you too much to replace you by a Nike Fuelband

This is really pathetic!!

What THE TRUTH im asking!?

You are going to loose LOTS of customers!!!

I was told its Apple fault, someone else that you have NO PLANS! ...and this thread!?

WE NEED TO ASK YOU FOR IT!? Really!?

IS THIS so hard to update your customer base saying the truth!!! Im really done!

You got time till friday then im gone!!

Lack of communication is really killing me!!

Hard to believe but your customer relation skills are non-existant!

It seems that the people that deal directly with the customers (forum, Facebook, twitter) have been kept in the dark as much as we have or they are on orders to say nothing.

Another customer imploring FitBit to move on this already.  All iOS developers have access to the API before the major release of a new OS, so any excuses are just that, excuses for poor management and vision.

At the very least a representative from FitBit should make an announcement of plans for release.

I have to say it is disheartening to see other companies eat FitBit's lunch with this release.

I am hoping the Fitbit One will soon (very soon) include integration with the IOS Healthkit.  I love my Fitbit and wear it everyday.  I am not interested in the Apple Watch or even Flex because I hate wearing anything on my wrist, therefore Fitbit One works best for me.

Truthfully,  I am not going to be very patient about waiting for Fitbit to be integrated with Healthkit.  If it doesn't happen soon, or at least it isn't announced that it will happen, I will change to another manufacturer that will integrate with Healthkit.

For the Healthkit, please get in contact with Apple because they are the one that are not currently letting us sync the app

Im Kinda copnfused here haveno, it sounds like

fitbit has stated that the app is sumbitted and its waiting on Apple approvalso that they can sync the new app into place   I realize it might be a verey poor choice of wording on their part but we have now had more than one person say that fitbit has told them that it is infact in apples court waiting on approval.

and just so you know they do alot more than just look it over, they actually test and check each app for violations This might be a good read for you

I'm well aware of what apple does to check the apps submitted. I said they need to approve the app. The approval of the app is extensive. I also wrote to fitbit support and they said they were working hard on the new app, but they could not give a completion date. Obviously there isn't anyone at fitbit that knows squat at the moment.

Please add Fitbit to the IOS 8 Health kit.

on phone with support, informed that app was submitted to apple for review on 9/22/2014

Based on information available its taking upwards of 10 days to get apps reviewed and approved

(Based on 715 reviews in the last 14 days.)

Hope this information helps, I hope that one of the engineers or developers logs in and gives official word. ( kinda like a bue post at WOW )

There is a huge amount of confusion... So my base questions are:

1) is Fibit planning on integrating with HealthKit ( no one official has confirmed) ?

2) Has Fibit actually submitted an App to Apple ( once again we only have hearsay)?

can the moderators or a member of the Fitbit Dev team provide some official guidance on this so that we can stop running in circles?

I guess all I have is hearsay but as I stated above

1 YES they have an app that integrates with healthkit

2 Yes it has been submitted to apple for review, on 9/22

I have also provided another member here with a phone number that Im hoping they called and can then comin and add confirmation

Camelothosting, May I ask the source of your hearsay? I called them today and the woman on the phone was working on the same script as the folks posting as @FitbitSupport. The basically the programmers have not told them anything.

i guess i managed to get someone that didnt just sit on their ass they went and asked questions...

Come on! With Fitbit being one of the biggest names in the health tracking arena I am surprised that they were not ready to integrate with iOS or have any communication on the time frame. Very disappointing.

I want my Fitbit Ultra to sync with the new ios 8 Health app please. At the moment it is frustrating, having difficulty get my steps to register in the Fitbit app, it is so slow (iPhone 5s & iPad Air)
