Integrate with iOS Health

Hi there,

I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall.  I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.

This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs!  Thanks!

+1 for integration with the iOS Health App. I'm shocked that the Fitbit iOS team didn't put this on the roadmap when Health Kit was announced and needs begging for a feature like this.

Please - and actually share if this is on your radar? Before we all start jumping ship. . .

OMG you even have to ask? I'm STUNNED you haven't already done it. STUNNED. Who's making decisions there?

On the one hand, I can see that (as usual) Apple is playing catch-up and the Health app is really just a copy of the fitbit dashboard. I get it, I see that, nothing new.

On the other hand, doesn't integration with the Health app just drive more people to use fitbit? Won't people base future purchases on the abilty to integrate with the latest tech? I can't see the losing side of this. Just send STEPS to the app...how difficult can that be?

Maybe it's time for us all to remember that fitbit is really just a fancy pedometer. Odds are, when mine dies, I won't bother replacing it with anything at all.

Please add integration into Health app! I really like Fitbit, and I'd love for it to work into my iPhone! Please Fitbit, we all want you in iOS 8!

Integration, please.... if not even though I love my fitbit, I might have to go with something else.

In addition to integration with Apple's HealthKit app it would be nice to have Force tell me when I've a call. This was suppose to happen in December 2013, then in February 2014, but nothing has happened. This feature was the reason I decided for Fitbit's Force and I'm trully disapointed. Will never buy again fom a company based in promisses. This is not a company one should trust to do business with.

Bought a Jawbone UP24 for my mom for her birthday since it has integration. Will be asking for one for Christmas, myself. Unfortunately it's the best option on the market now, since they are response to new technologies and capabilities.

I can't trust Fitbit to embrace new functionalities that are provided through iOS, but it appears I can trust Jawbone. I appreciate their willingness to take action rather than "wait" and "evaluate" for iOS Health to "mature."

I just "matured" to a new device for my family. I guess have fun watching the clock and losing customers, Fitbit.

Please integrate with Apple Health. I need my sleep and accurate step tracking information all in one place (also my Apria scale).

Definitely integrate with HealthKit.  It's why I just bought the Aria scale.

I came to the site looking for information on how many more days I could expect to wait before healthkit intergration with my Fitbit. I did not expect to find a conversation on IF you would ever be doing it! I am also shopping for a new scale... I want a new scale because of healthkit, so guess which company I am likely to now exclude from the running on that purchase? The good news is that I will never carry a phone in my pocket 24/7 to track my activity... I personaly think there are many people like me. so I want to continue to use a device like the fitbit. But honestly, mine is not going to last much longer and it will be the last one I buy without healthkit intergration.

I'm for the integration. I own a flex and an aria and would love to see that data into the Health app. It's such a pain to set the body fat percentage by hand. I want an automated process. Also, the flex is my only source of steps so I cannot see steps in the Health app unless Fitbit updates their app. Almost all my health apps have been updated with HealthKit integration. Why not the market leader?

Vote??? Seriously? Vote?

I can for one tell you that NOT integrating the Fitbit with the health kit is a dealbreaker. Then you force me to switch to another tracker and system. And rendering my Aria scale useless.

Endomondo is up and running smoothly, and the iWatch is due next year…

So for the love of dog, get on the train already.

Latest edit: After I have read most of the comments on 18 pages, with no answer from Fitbit, I am asking my mother for Jawbone UP for my upcoming birthday. Thats three years of happy customer destroyed by this…

After I have read

So far, Health doesn't seem to be doing much rather than offer a layer for exchanging data. The app itself justs offers a series of line charts, not even combined ones (e.g. weight vs steps). Given that there are tons of ways to exchange data between the most popular apps, if you're going to do it, do it right. Seems like MFP has rushed into it with bad results (see

Right now with fitbit and mfp most my data is in one place. Once a non-manual glucose meter makes it into health kit, then I'll want my data there. I don't exercise to lose weight. I exercise so I can be on the lowest dose of diabetes medd and maintain hA1c of 5.5. I live by my meter. IHealthLabs might be my next tracker, scale, meter, blood pressure, etc because their ecosystem has devices for all of that.

Why is Fitbit dragging their feet?  Jawbone UP is integrated with Health!  Where is the new Force?  It seems as though us loyal Firbit users are being left behind.

I'm shocked that Fitbit wasn't one of the first apps to offer integration with the Apple Health app. Please consider this yet another vote to make this happen!

MarkG76 MyFitnessPal came out with an update yesterday.  The program now works flawlessly with Healthkit.

I love the idea of the health app brining together all the different tools I use to track the variety of elements that influence my health.  I can't believe fitbit has not integrated.  I just aquired my fitbit. Shame on me for not doing better research I wrongly assumed this would occur.  I should have bought jawbone.  My daughter was going to get a fitbit, I have already told her to get the jawbone instead.

If intergration does not happen soon, then I will be looking for another device.

I agree with so many of these comments!  I can't believe that Fitbit hasn't integrated with the Health App as yet - they will lose out quickly if they don't!  PLEASE integrate!  I love my fitbit and have gone through many products within that family, but it only gives me one view - the health app will connect the pieces - so I want that!! Get moving FITBIT!

I am planning on switching to Apple Watch when it becomes available. At that time I will "dump" my Force. I have been very unhappy at how long it has taken Fitbit to come up with a viable replacement for the Force (cannot use mine all the time due to the skin problems). I do have a Fitbit scale that should be intergrated with Healthkit. Given the length of time it has taken to get the Fitbit iOS app updated to support the new APIs; lack of product development (i.e. replacement for Force); and a half-baked website is making me rethink my future as a customer with Fitbit. Fitbit has become such a disappointment. When I started buying it's products, it was the best on the market. I was impressed how the company was quick to handle the Force disaster fairly to the end user. However it has never recovered. It seems like it is continues to just stumble with each step. I have lost total faith in the company and that's really too bad.

UPDATE: After reading most the of the posts on this topic, I have decided to go ahead and sent my Force back since I am limited on how much I can wear it because of the allergy issue and the lack of firmware updates. It's to bad I can't return my Aria scale too! I will not longer consider purchasing any future Fitbit products fo the issues listed above. Count me as another lost customer who votes with his wallet.

The fact this is even being discussed makes me wonder if fitbit is the device I need to continue to use going forward.
