Integrate with iOS Health

Hi there,

I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall.  I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.

This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs!  Thanks!

iOS8 has been available for developers for long enough to allow Fitbit to get their act together. The deafening silence from Fitbit to my mind is a clear signal that they do not intend to allow Fitbit to sync with Apple Healthkit. I for one will put my Fitbit One in the bin and go to another provider that does. This looks like commercial suicide by Fitbit.

Allow us to see our health data in the health app already!!! Ridiculous!!!

Let's get with it fitbit;  if this isn't fixed by Christmas, you are likely to lose most of your customer base;  why should I wear it if my phone is tracking steps?  Because fitbit does it better, that's why;  still... if you don't get this integrated, someone else will and I'll switch

They are still responding on Twitter about heathkit with the following:

Thanks for your interest. No plans at the moment, but are interested to see where it goes, and how it may impact people's health.

I can tell you where it's going.  It's going to your competitors!!!

I am stunned that Fitbit is even considering NOT integrating. It would be a terrible business decision not to do so. The longer you go without integrating, the more business you are going to lose.

I have heard from developers in other health apps that they are holding off as well, worried about possible hippa issues and data security

That doesn't make sense.  The user is the one allowing the information to be transferred to healhkit.  There would be no liability to the company providing the information to healthkit.

Databreach is a data breach and it has some people scared, I guess the cloud breach didnt help it, even though no data for a healthkit ap can be stored in cloud

Im to the point I dont care anymore, if they get it Yea, if not then when my One dies then screw it.

I just noticed that fitbit syncs with Microsoft HeathVault, and yet not Healthkit?

I am looking forward to my Fitbit to intagrate with Apple IOS 8. I really enjoy both tracking features!. It would be great for consumers if the Fitbit and apple devolper can work on this!

Wasn't Fitbit named as an unofficial partner of HealthKit in June? http://mobihealthnews.com/33728/apple-reveals-tracking-app-healthkit-and-partners-with-mayo-clinic-e...

Lack of integration so far is making personal health tracking on a larger scale much less user friendly, and ease of use is one of the best features of Fitbit! I have a feeling that if integration doesn't happen soon, alot of us will switch to competing "integrated" products through the holidays.

Please let Fitbit work with new health app. Working with weight watcher app wound be awesome too. Convert activity to points. I hope for a solution soon

Of course we want integration with Apple Health app. Why are you still counting votes? Do I have to get a Jawbone to get health data to sync?

i always thought businesses wanted to keep customers not loose them. Fitbit is making a bad name for itself. We have to vote on integration and then hope you come out with the feature. Bad move.

My Fitbit One (one of the best trackers out there) died recently and I was going to go out an buy a new one right away, but not integrating with Apple's Health product has me second guessing my purchase. Replacing my tracker and scale may now become a reality if there is no integration. Some items I can get from MFP tied to Fitbit such as weight, however I'm not able to get BMI and Fat % or other details without integration. I think it is a sill response as the data they receive is from the consumer and we should be able to integrate it how we like. If they start to build a walled garden around our data, I will quickly move to a more open product even though I believe there trackers to be some of the best on the market. As another had said earlier in this thread, it has taken quite some to to release the latest and greatest new tracker after the Force. I feel the holiday season will be a slower one of this company if they are unable to get things updated and integrated.

Havenocents , thanks I've seen the update earlier today and will see how it goes from now on. Prior to the update it got even worse, losing even yesterday's data. I still only see today's numbers and I think they are the wrong ones).

I don't see much point in HealthKit however. Most major food/fitness apps can connect with one another in one way or the other...

Regret my Aria purchase of a few months ago.

HealthKit APIs have been available since June 2. Clear that this is a misguided "strategic" product decision.

My impression of the Fitbit brand as best-of-breed in the connected fitness space overall was a key factor in choosing Fitbit over other devices. Turns out, Fitbit was best of breed a few years ago but no longer. Was very surprised to find out upon unboxing Aria supported only 802.11b (yes b!)... so have to run home network in b mixed mode now just so Aria can connect. Never even thought to check what era of WiFi interface would be supported, certainly didn't expect b in 2014 (g standard ratified 2003, n in 2009, ac in 2013, so 3 generations and 11 years behind). Setup process was surprisingly painful too. And now no support for HealthKit.

New product leadership needed at Fitbit.

Interesting I just got notice of a new Download version 2.4 lets see if it works

It says its a fix for MobileTrack on iphone 6 so I doubt it.

But if you look at the app store its not listed

most recent showing there is from 9/19 2.3.4

I just purchased my Fitbit. If they do not integrate soon, I will return it and purchase ANY of the MANY models that do.

well mine is already downloaded.  No healthkit.  I think the problem is Fitbit wants programs to get information from them.  They want to be the holder of the data.  By sending information to apple they lose their premium features.

MBC2237, you need to define soon.  I can assure you based on their comments that nothing is coming in the next few weeks.
