Integrate with iOS Health

Hi there,

I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall.  I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.

This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs!  Thanks!

I've been a Fitbit user for years now... I have a mountain of collected data, and I'm pretty proud of that. I'm also now a recent convert to iOS and iPhone, and since my conversion, one of the things I love most about it is the HealthKit and all of the other apps and things it integrates with. With HealthKit, I can keep ALL of my information in one place. And while I love the Fitbit dashboard, it's clunky, not very up to date with information in it like adding food and workouts and what not, it doesn't integrate with other apps or peripherals. I can't run an exercise app and have that information transfer to Fitbit. I can't add medical conditions or input other data points into it like I can with HealthKit. HealthKit has a great application that keeps all of your medical information in one place, where you the individual get to decide what to do with it. If need be, I can take all that collected information to a Doctor's appointment and share that information with them. Or if (god forbid) something were to happen to me, emergency medical personnel would be able to get all of my medical information from one place thanks to the integration in HealthKit. Because of the decisions from the powers in charge at Fitbit, you can't with that with any of its trackers, or it's dashboard. It collects the data, where it sits... I'm currently looking to upgrade my Fitbit One to one that has more functions. Since discovering HealthKit, having all my information in place that I control is very important to me, and this will help make my decision for me. I love my Fitbit, and I love what it's done for me... but I don't like the way they're starting to treat their customers, placing brand and market power above what they're customers want. Which is ashame because Fitbit was super awesome and my wife and I are great fans... but this issue hits hard for me and I will be making decisions accordingly...

I'm seriously condisering ditching my FitBit HR for an Apple Watch or Jawbone Up if this integration is not available very soon.  There's no technical reason this integration should not be available.

Fitbit sure are not Amazon.  They don't listen to their customers.

You want to remain in business?  Focus on your customers and not on other companies.  It is as clear as crystal why you won't support Health Kit.  Sad, just Sad.

Like Balmer is in charge there....

For what it's worth: another vote to integrate with HealthKit please.

I'm just about to buy some wireless scales. If Aria sync'd with HealthKit, I'd instantly purchase them. As it is, I'm verging towards Withings.

Not having HealthKit support is both my loss and yours, Fitbit!

I've lost my FitBit but have an Aria scale and MyFitness Pal syncs here. $100 for another FitBit or $100 toward an Apple Watch when my phone is always in my pocket and counting my steps.

I know profit is in the hardware but why can't the FitBit app use the HealthKit pedometer data?

We are trying to do an office challenge we have 10 people doing it. 3 of which have Apple watches we would love to be able to track eachothers steps however we are not able to.

The only thing keeping the fitbit app from being 5 stars is lack of Health App integration

Will only buy a FitBit product if Apple HealthKit is integrated.

Two years and over 3000 votes later and still no HealthKit integration.. That's it. Good bye, Fitbit.

I'm shocked that my Fitbit doesn't work with the apple health app. Makes me think the extra £100 for an iwatch would have been worth it.

After all this time most apps allow you the option of syncing with Apple's Health app. I wish that Fitbit would do the same!

Just went through all these posts and I don't see an official response from FitBit. IOS 9.3 released and still no firm integration with Apple Health. Is this ever going to be fixed. Considering the amount of people asking, what is problem pulling this together. Cannot believe this still is not on the roadmap. Looking forward to some sort of response.

Well keep looking forward to that response because you won't get one. Every so often someone official pops up with a "we're listening" post but they've been saying that for years. They're not listening. They have no intention of ever integrating with health kit. If they (the company, not the moderators of this forum) had any integrity they would mark this thread as rejected and close it. At least if they were honest people could make an informed decision. But I guess that's why there not. Because more people would buy competitors products instead.

Currently this is the second most voted for feature, well ahead of the third-most requested by almost 1,000 votes.

FitBit, we iOS users have allegiances to Apple's ecosystem, you are a commodity. Play ball like all of the other device manufacturers in the wearables space become irrelevant.

I have heard from multiple people and also seen on the internet where apple was planning on buying fitbit for the software. From what i have heard everybody wants to use the apple watch but use the fitbit software and there has been many request to apple about integrating the two. Most people love the fitbit software and app but they want the FULL functionality of a smart watch instead of the blaze which is a glorified charge tracker. Can anyone verify this information?? I sure hope this is true so i can finally use a apple watch on the Fitbit software!!!!!

Fitbit is falling behind the competition. Come on! Link the Fitbit app to Apple Health. Your competitors are doing just that.

Are you guys seriously considering HealthKit integration? I see a lot of the commentes pertain to iOS 8. But we are on iOS 9 now and now integration whatsover. I used several health apps that pull information from HealthKit. It would be nice if the fitbit app would contribute it's data to it. This way different apps can pull such information. For example, take Withings app. Also, I do have an Apple Watch. I would like to integrate it's data too with the fitbit app and vicerversa. I don't know why you guys haven't add this feature. We are basically on the 2nd generation of HealthKit and we see no improvment on the fitbit app. I believe your decision to not support HealthKit might be marketing related and just trying to push your own products.

I think it's laziness or being stubborn on the part of Fitbit - there are now several other vendors who also sell blood pressure monitors and scales as well as step counters. I purchased "Sync Solver for Fitbit" which so far seems to work very well in merging Fitbit data into the Apple Health App.

Thanks for the feedback. I just feel having to spend for another product
just for integration Fitbit should be avoiding this. They are just making
this too hard. Appreciate the recommendation on Sync Solver
