Integration with Google Fit

I'd very much like my fitbit data available in Google Fit. I use a different app for food logging, but Fitbit's step counter, sleep tracker, and aria are great.

If their data was available through the new Google Fit it would be fantastic.

Google Fit.

Someone from FitBit reads all these things and occasionally says its a good idea, but there appears to be no intention of ever data sharing.  It really can't be that hard.

I am done with this. My next fitness tracker will be a Polar A360.

Since it seems that fitbit has decided to not action comments or suggestions on their own community site, might I suggest that we all also post on the fitbit facebook page?  https://www.facebook.com/fitbit/

I did post here and got some response from fitbit...although it was redundant and useless.

(Here is the link to my facebook comment, for reference: https://www.facebook.com/fitbit/posts/516909918699738?comment_id=516946812029382&reply_comment_id=52...)

That s a good idea. Another is to go to the App page and leave a review and comment (keep it civil and factual so people don't just ignore it). Maybe point out how this should be a basic function ad how we've been asking for it for years.

Would also be a good idea to give a 'Thumbs Up' to reviews mentioning similiar issues so that they are more likely to be considered 'helpfful' and be promoted to the top of the list

FitBit: Any update on this?

It would be a great idea but to be honest I don't believe it will happen.

Fitbit want their costumers to be tied with their ecosystem, that way, it would be very difficult to them to change the brand without losing all their data. It's the same strategy adopted by Apple, making apps available exclusively for Apple products prevent costumers from changing brand. There are limits to this strategy though, Fitbit is preventing any new person coming from a brand which has third party integration (Google fit or Apple health) like myself to buy their products.

The first thing I check when Im about to buy a new fitness tracker is the integration with Google fit, if it doesn't offer this then it's a No, I have already all my data on Google fit and the only way to keep it is to have a brand which integrate well with this app.

3+ years, this will NEVER happen. Everyone needs to stop coming here to add comments and just close this thread already.  Accept it won't happen. Sadly it is proprietary busy life Apple crap and they will NEVER allow sharing between "Google" fit. I'm very upset by it and will no longer use my Charge 2 and only use my Huawei Android wear with google fit.  It's far superior and a beautiful watch competitively speaking. Good luck everyone.

I jump the ship too. The lack of support of third party apps, the bad HR monitoring of the charge 2 with high intensity training and the buggy automatic activity tracker is enough for me.

Honestly, Fitbit customers are obviously interested in it and the only
thing they have to lose is... Nothing. Compatibility is a competitive
edge. This is a no-brainer and that's part of what's so frustrating about
the fact that it hasn't happened.

Although this has not happened yet, Google Fit integration would be nice.

I would also like to have Google fit integration implemented.

Please add Google Fit intergration asap!!!

It's not possible not to have it in 2017!

Without it, eventually, you will lose more customers than you will "lock in"

Your products are great!! Your app is great! But without the ability to combine these metrics with other data we already have (aka no Google Fit intergration) I am afraid you are pushing everyone away!

Don't try to "lock users in" in order not to lose them, just do what you've been doing (awesome products and perfect app) and we will keep coming

Google Fit integration is a must. I give it another 6 months before I will switch to an LG Watch Sport for my fitness tracking needs... Not integrating - i.e. playing nice - with those apps is a mistake and will result in customer loss. I have a standard fitness app on my phone and plan on using it; switching to a fitbit only solution is not acceptable.

Please add Google Fit integration to the Fitbit.  We want a tracked that gives us the freedom to view our data in various apps of our choosing.  Love the product,  this would make it better.

+1 for this from me too. It's a shame that the two different products don't "play nice" together. If someone could make that happen though, it'd be awesome 😊

I'm currently in the market for a fitness tracker, and I was about to buy a Fitbit, because it's the "Kleenex" or "Velcro" of the fitness tracker market.  However, since Fitbit doesn't play with Google fit, and some other tracker does, I'm going to buy some other tracker.  Sorry guys.

I agree. That would be great.

This thread started 3 years ago, I've had a Fitbit for about a week and will get a different device if Google Fit is not supported (had I seen this thread, I wouldn't have purchased).  I called your support phone number and they were unable to provide any information on integration.

Does anybody here have knowledge about Fitbit integration with Google Fit?  If not, I'm returning this device.  Thanks!

Same here. I just assumed that Google Fit integration would be there. Big mistake!! I'll be doing more research and will switch as soon as a suitable device is found!!

@AmritaFitbit ok so, it has been "Reviewed by Moderator" almost 3 years ago, what does this mean exactly?

terrarum

Easy, it means that they don't want to do it! Or can't, but that seems unlikely.

I stopped using a fitbit a couple years ago because it was obvious they had no intention on integrating with Google Fit.  I would come back to Fitbit if this one crucial feature was added.  You already lost me Fitbit, win me back by proving you want to work with  popular ecosystems, rather than being a walled garden.

I can't see this happening after all this time. Its an easy thing to do that Withings have already done. Once Withings have released a new device under the Nokia brand and their app is updated to what they are promising that's where I'll be going.
