Integration with Google Fit

I'd very much like my fitbit data available in Google Fit. I use a different app for food logging, but Fitbit's step counter, sleep tracker, and aria are great.

If their data was available through the new Google Fit it would be fantastic.

I love my Force. I never want it to die. Stuck with it through the recall (wasn't that hard).

+1.  Google trying to pull steps from my phone when I have a perfectly good Fitbit on my wrist is silly.  (And it's really bad at it.)

And not to threaten, but ... if another wrist based tracker comes out with Google Fit integration first, I will be taking a close look at it.

Any news about Google Fit support?

Please add support for google fit. Having all health info tied to a gmail account is huge. Not everyone just uses a fitbit for getting health info. Please add support soon because my family is looking at other options if we don't get this added. Thanks

I strongly agree.  When it comes to running or biking, my Garmin is much more accurate.  Therefore I see real value in a feature that allows me to sync my Garmin data with my Fitbit One and keep the activity records on Fitbit.  Yes, I would pay for that feature.

Please add this feature—for those of us who use Strava, this is the next best option to bring activities into our Fitbit account. I'd love to see a more comprehensive view of my activities.

I edited the idea to includeall the different types of sports trackers so the search for any of these would ultimately lead them to this idea.  Don't forget to Upvote!

+1 I want to see this happen as well. Integration with Google Fit would be an added value for Fitbit.

fitdatasync was a useful tool for getting my several web apps all talking nicely.  Would love to see it or similar back in action.

I am not willing to pay premium for this feature. I strongly disagree with the proposal above and this is why:

1. This is a simple thing to set up / allow. It only allows FitBit to open their API for a developer (i.e. the FitDataSync guy) to access this information.

2. Related to item #1, the same goes for Garmin. In other words, this isn't exactly in FitBits hand, Garmin could also block API access to sync this data, so this request is only looking at "one half" the problem.

3. This has been a general feature in the past, and it seems to me it's been "taken away" which is not fair. So asking to pay for something you had before is very unfair.

4. I want to stress. As the user, this is OUR (MY) data. Sure, FitBit owns everything else, but (as a physician) maybe I see the data part a little different. This should be NO different than any patient (covered by a little law called HIPAA...) and their medical information. Their information and chart belongs to the patient; not the provider.

5. I'm reposting something I posted in the help forum where I was looking to see if others had this same problem:

Very frustrating.

My theory is that FitBit (or Gamin?) did something with an app update that preceded this problem which "breaks" FitDataSync ability to access FitBit data. And, furthermore, I am concerned that FitBit is doing this intentionally since Garmin is now a competitor of theirs (with their vivofit and vivosmart line of Fitness trackers).

If true, Strava did something similar a year or two ago and ther was quite a lot of people pissed off about that. I'm not sure it helped them business-wise, just upset a bunch of users.

I want to say, regarding my theory; it is just that. It sounds like nobody knows what / where the problem is, so we're all guessing.

Well until fitdatasync comes back (not likely and I'm tired of holding my breath) we are screwed. The other sync service doesn't work either.  So.... Until the day comes that the sync services start working again, I'd like to have a solution - one that's a little more permanent than the current offerings.

You see, programmers cost money. Programming a website costs money. Programming an API to keep up with the shifting landscape of data and methods of accessing it is a huge under taking and requires programmers, which cost a lot of money. So someone who has access to money and programmers (which Fitbit happens to have) needs to step up to the plate.  That person or business that does should be rewarded (whether its by donation or cost base service).  Fitbit already offers so much to us for free. And sure, having a new feature for free would be nice. But why offer it when they already have us as loyal users. They have a business plan that involves making money (I'm pretty sure of this hence why they already offer the premium service). And spending a lot of money on Programmers to not make any money, I'm pretty sure it's not in their business plan (at least going forward). And with any business, spending money needs to make sense. There needs to be an incentive for them to offer it and the most immediate incentive I can think of is through the premium service. ( we can argue about the nuances of long term solutions all day long, this is a solution to a problem that is current and constant).

Also Fitbit does own the data.  So do we.  Garmin owns the data. So do we. We can take our data with us where ever we want to go. That doesn't make the data disappear on Fitbit's server. They are using the data to improve their services.  Our account and user information may be deleted once we export our data, but the information we provided them stays in the form of raw numbers unassociated with an individual.

So in the end I don't mind throwing some cash at a service that will make it easier for me to get a better picture of my overall health.  The other option is to keep doing what we are doing for free - which sucks.

I personally have an Android smartphone, an iPod touch, and a Windows 8 pc, so I would love to see integration with all the health platforms. Fitbit has the unique position to connect all platform-specific health apps, bridging the gap between my devices, if only support was added. Please think of it this way, and add support (cross posted from iOS 8 thread)

+1 for fitbit and Google Fit integration

This feature would be awesome and make more people want to purchase a fitbit.

with the addition of fitbits that can measure heartrate i would very much like to see this data passed on to google fit.

right now i am using runkeeper as an intermediary so i get weight, but i don't get step counts or anything.

and i'm using instant heart rate pro for pulse checks that syncs with google fit.

fitbit really needs to allow for google fit.

I would like to add my request for integration with Google Fit in anyway. Whether it would be from the Fitbit App to the Google Fit app or from a Fitbit device to the Google Fit app directly.

Just got my Asus ZenWatch... have had my FitBit One for over a year. I'd LOVE to be able to see my FitBit data, including my Floors count, in Google Fit.

I'm actually running with my moto360, phone and my fitbit so I can get my steps into fit.

After the latest moto 360 update I don't need the phone. I would prefer not to use the moto 360 to get my steps into google fit, I would prefer to continue to use the fitbit only but I prefer the google fit environment.
