Let us delete in-app notifications/messages

This is clogging up my iphone. I have a year or more worth of useless Fitbit notification messages I'd like to shed. I saw a 'solved' notice in here from a year ago stating it was resolved by stating there is no solution. This is simply ignoring the myriads of request/votes of customer requests/concerns to fix it. Fitbit should have had a REAL solution by now and apparently do not. In reality this problem has not been resolved but simply is being ignored by the company/moderator. The solution 'solved' to put a vote in ideas does not address the real concern or issue at hand. What's the point of a community forum if Fitbit does not listen to its customers? The thread should have flagged Fitbit/moderator to produce a real fix, we're still waiting.

Ditto to all comments above.  Yes, please to being able to delete all Notifications at any time.  My pile of notifications start on Feb 24, 2017.  I'm running out of memory on phone

We so agree. Don't understand WHY Fitbit doesn't do this.

I agree, please find a way for users to delete the notifications once they have been read.

Thanks!

Here is the response I got from Fitbit. Hi Sam,

We appreciate you getting back to us and providing us with screenshots showing the type of notifications you are getting.

We would like to start by clarifying that the inability to removeteam in hopes of motivating our users to keep on track with their fitness goals. Though this is the case, we have collected reports similar to yours that this has become an inconvenience, rather than a motivational feature. We ask for your kind consideration on this matter and we do have a recommendation for you.

Any changes we make are not necessarily permanent as it is important for us to ensure that we are always in tune with your needs and wants. Based on your inquiry, we can picture how much you'd like for the ability to delete unwanted goal notifications, and so we have taken note of your inquiry and passed it along to our development team.

You are correct in that several of your fellow Fitbit family members are already voicing their opinion about this issue, and be assured that we are all ears and very aware of this matter. We invite you to have a look at this post in our community forums and let us know how you feel about the lack of an option to delete your goal notifications. Alternatively, simply give the post a vote to help our development team evaluate if we are bringing the option to delete the notifications back via a later update.

We look forward to keeping you moving. Let us know if you have any additional inquiries and we'll be happy to promptly assist.

Sincerely,
Miko M.

Is there a fix for this yet? If not, why not? It seems like a lot of people really don't like that you can't delete old notifications. I see them, I read them, I want them off my phone. Many apps have given their users this ability, so it can't be that hard to do.

How many times do we need to say it. It is an easy fix so don't understand why it has to wait for a future fix or wish list.

Make all your customers happy by giving them the option. That would be a win-win

Worse thing you can do is not do anything AND have your customers get frustrated.

Come on!

Totally agree.
Even when I deleted app and then restart they are still there.
I am not liking fitbit.

I think there needs to be a way to delete notifications.  Right now the Notification Center saves the last 100 notifications and they can not be deleted.

This needs to changed with the next update.

I really look forward for Fitbit to allow users to delete old notifications that do nothing more than take up precious space on our iPhones or other smartphones. I have notifications going back to Feb of 2017.

From all the comments I've received since I posted on the community board, people are quite irritated about not being able to delete notifications and some are to the point of deleting the app because Fitbit is taking so long to resolve this issue.

Please correct this soon!!!!!

Same thing happened to me! This is my 4th Fitbit, but now the last. It is
using up too much memory on my iPhone.

Hello,
I agree with your post regarding not being able to delete motivational notifications. I see no purpose in keeping these notifications once I read them. Why would I go back weeks or month to review them? I hope enough people let the developers know that this is not a wise move on their part.

Get rid of the notifications they aren't necessary and serve no purpose. At the very least make possible to delete them!

I sure don't understand why Fitbit doesn't do this simple request. Why let us (their bread and butter) get frustrated.

I totally agree. Unfortunately fitbit doesn't seem to give a darn about its consumers.
Time to get a different brand or just delete app and keep track manually.
