Let us delete in-app notifications/messages

This is clogging up my iphone. I have a year or more worth of useless Fitbit notification messages I'd like to shed. I saw a 'solved' notice in here from a year ago stating it was resolved by stating there is no solution. This is simply ignoring the myriads of request/votes of customer requests/concerns to fix it. Fitbit should have had a REAL solution by now and apparently do not. In reality this problem has not been resolved but simply is being ignored by the company/moderator. The solution 'solved' to put a vote in ideas does not address the real concern or issue at hand. What's the point of a community forum if Fitbit does not listen to its customers? The thread should have flagged Fitbit/moderator to produce a real fix, we're still waiting.

Agree completely with the comments above. Please give us the option to delete/turn off notifications as we deem appropriate for ourselves.  The helpfulness gets lost with them being so incredibly repetitive and piling up.  It would be good to be able to clear the clutter in that space. Thank you!

I called FITBIT corporate number (googled it) and complained since they are clearly not paying ANY attention to all the complaints! Please call them and complain!  If they hear from enough of us, they may actually take action.
I suggested that the notifications automatically disappear after 3 or even 7 days.  Or a "delete all" button option.
Please call fitbit corporate and complain!!  I called on Friday.  They acted oblivious!

It's not the deleting that is my concern of the community notifications. My concern is just turning them off. Because my phone literally notifies me and lights up every 5 seconds when someone cheers me or someone else comments on a post I like.. people have full on conversation on one post and I get a notification every single time..   I'm not exaggerating one bit.. it's taking my battery life. Please fix this please!!! 🙂

I called them directly and put in a complaint.  I do not think they read the in app comments based on my conversation with them.  So in order to truly reach them you need to call the corporate number. Hopefully my suggestions for "fixing" the problem will not fall on deaf ears.  But at least I was proactive and did something about it.

I originally posted my complaint to Fitbit in Messenger in May of this year.  I did receive a response from Fitbit with a case number.  I did communicate with several of their tech support people.  One told me that the notifications "would drop off" after 3 months.  Another told me that there was no way at the present to delete these notifications, but they were working on a "fix".  After the last app update, I again messengered Fitbit about the issue not being resolved.  Here's what their response was:

"Thanks for bringing this up. We're still working on new features to improve our Fitbit apps and this feedback will catch the attention of our developers. You can see similar posts about deleting in-app notifications here in our community: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Let-us-delete-in-app-notifications/idi-p/1938437. With your help and the others as well, we'll be able to achieve great things. Please don't forget to leave your votes, the more votes the better as that where the developers look for new ideas."

I would say it's pretty obvious that they either aren't reading this thread or the other threads about this issue, or they don't think the issue is important enough to deal with...or they just plain don't care...or all of that.  I wonder if we post on their Facebook page how unhappy we are about this that we might get some action, and maybe even on Twitter...or perhaps they don't read those posts either.  It's all so frustrating from a company that has a good product and a good app but just has no customer service!  I wonder if other trackers have similar issues?  I may seriously consider changing to another tracker.

I have been asking Fitbit to fix this notification problem for months. They DO NOT care about us

Here's Fitbit's response to my post on their Facebook page today:

Thanks for your suggestion, Andrea! We've already pass on all the feature requests to our developers, this request is under consideration status and we don't have a word yet as to when this will be going to be available. If you leave a comment and vote for the suggestion, it would of course be of great help in pushing this request more. Hope this helps to better understand why we encourage you to join in. Any other thing you might need help with, let us know and we'll be glad to help!

As usual, a non-response.

I have had these (unable to-delete)notifications on my phone since February.  How much longer will it be until I am able to clear up some storage on my phone?

I am wondering if Apple can help.

I’m planning to monitor the storage required, and when I have met my current goals, if the storage is significant, I plan to simply delete and reinstall the app and start over.

My complaint is that this is such an obvious feature, and is consistent with how almost all quality iPhone apps are written, that its omission here is mind-boggling. For example, in the current app, you can delete the gps records of running/walking routes - which I’ve noticed seem to be downloaded when needed instead of stored locally. So why not these silly notifications?

Maybe the facebook page is a better place to put feedback - if responded to, it at least means somebody noticed!

I generally appreciate how well the app and the fitbit work on the whole - even getting another one! - so it pains me to see that the software team is apparently not working in a quality software mode.

I deleted the app. I deleted the tracker I was using. I got a new one. Put it into my phone and voila there were all the STUPID notifications right back where they were before.
Good luck to you.

Go to the App Store and review the app. Give them 1 star and explain why. It seems like the developer is answering to some of the comments on the bad reviews.

I believe we have to call corporate.  Based on my phone call with them, they clearly are NOT reading the fitbit community posts.  So despite the fact that many many people have complained about this, it is falling on deaf ears unless we pick up the phone and call corporate office.

Great. Thanks. I will try that.

Please call FITBIT corporate directly and complain.  I googled them for a number.  Perhaps enough people calling them about it will get them to do something!

There should be a way to delete notifications.

Yes, please give us the option to delete the notifications!  I have 9 months of "almost there ....". And " made it!"  Notices that I don't want.

I asked God how long before Fitbit allows us to delete notifications. I got an answer: "Not in my lifetime!" ☹️

Please call corporate and complain to them.  I have learned that they do not read the fitbit chats so the only way to get through to them is via their corporate number. If enough of us complain....
I gave them the string to look and see how many have complained.  Hopefully the will do something.  The more complaints the better.

So do I. Fitbit doesn't care
